Reviews for Sand Dollar Thrift Store

Ratings_icons record collectors review..............

guy r.

I've been to most thrift stores in Houston searching for vinyl records/45's/reel tapes/sheet music & instruments.
this one just raised their prices from $.75 @ album to.............$2.50!!!
As a result, the albums are stacking up.....they overflow the crappy magazine rack, to the floor & filling a small table where they're piled on top of one another. for that price, I can go to Half Price Books, where they will organized alphabetically, in racks I can flip thru & categorized. Here you have to physically move the piles to the floor, bend down & flip thru them there, & then try to re-assemble the pile of records.........Thanks!! It's a lot of work. Can you think of any other goods where the store decides to raise their prices 3-1/2 times??? For the same bunch of beat up albums. I'm so p____ed off I drove to their main office at the Harrisburg store (which is closed due to a fire for the next two months by the way) to talk to the owner. He said the records are worth that price & much more. Said he would like to have someone look everyone up so they get top dollar, but they don't have time. I pointed out that they are piling up, so he must be wrong. He insisted that they're flying out of the door. I don't think so. Looks like someones been watching too much of Antiques Roadshow........ So I avoid this store unless I'm really desperate for the abuse. that means they don't get me in the door for books/bicycles/tools/clothes or furniture very often either.

PROS: nice helpful workers
CONS: new high prices.......................

Ratings_icons Great little thrift store!

This is a great little thrift store. They have just about anything and everything you could want! Lots of variety...household items, linens, furniture, clothes, shoes, toys, and much more. There is a dressing room to try on clothes before buying them. Clothing racks are organized by size and gender.

The store is kept pretty clean and organized. The sales people are friendly and helpful. They get in new items every day so you just have to go and browse around to see what new bargains they have.

PROS: Nice variety of items, has dressing room

I do like to make a trip to this store now and then and check for great deals. I have to say this isnt the cleaniest store I've been to but then again it is a thift store. I would say at least go out and check this place out. I wouldnt ask for too much help because you may not get much. I have found some good deals here.
