We have been taking our two dogs to Dr. Ping, Dr.Ross, and the staff at BBAH since we moved to Pecan Grove 7 years ago. They are the best vets we have known in a lifetime of pet ownership. Their fees are reasonable and the service is excellent. I have never felt that they were pushing unnecessary services. Drs. Ping and Ross are personable and compassionate---they always clip nails and other freebies as part of our visit. We go once a year for annual checkup and that is it unless there is an illness (rare). They are the best and we highly recommend them!! And so do our mutts!

For the poster regarding the ear infections... Do you clean the ears frequently? Some dogs are prone to things like ear infections. Dr. Ping gave me specific instructions and i've followed them. One more follow up visit and my little monster hasn't had a problem since.

High fees? How about the free services they offer. For those that complain about high fees, take your dog/cat/monster to Pet Co/Smart and ask them to purge glands, trim nails, do a quick look. It will cost you upwards of $40. Dr. Ping does it for, what was that? FREE!!!! That means NOTHING! ZERO, ZILCH!

Dr. Ping and his colleagues believe in preventative meaures and these are certainly needed. He's saved me at least $200 in anal-gland (barf) squeezing fees, and grooming fees just because of that.

he also saved my dogs life becuase he knew the antidote for the stuff she ate.

Dr. Ping, Dr. Ross, etc., keep it up. Sure you'r going to have some bad experiences now and again, but you don't find good people like this too often.

This animal hospital is great! They know what they are doing and are very knowledgable. You are going to pay more than those other horrible so-called animal hospitals in the area, but it's well worth it for my dogs to be healthy!!

I agree with the previous poster who noted that the clinic will make you come in for a visit whether it's warranted or not. The fees are significantly higher than other vets I've been to (I moved to the area only recently and had to find a new vet) and Dr. Ping seems to be a man of few words which can be frustrating when you're trying to learn about your animal. The office staff are all very sweet, though, and despite my oh-so-human money gripes my animals are all healthy and get along well with the vet staff.

The Dr. seems to be more interested in high fees than doing the right thing. My dog has the same reoccurring problem 2 times a year, an ear infection. It only requires a refill of medicine. When asking to simply refill the medication that was just given 5 months earlier they refused even knowing this is a reoccurring problem. They are only interested in getting a fee for another office visit and testing fee.(almost $100) every other vet has refilled the meds without a problem. This hospital was just closer. Be sure to find out before using them if they will ever refill medications for the same ongoing problem.

Four years ago, I took Abigail in with parvo. She was six pounds and bleeding from both ends. Now, she's 110 lbs, and the love of my life! Dr. Ping knows his stuff! He should! He did his residence under one of my professors, Dr Williams of Tuskegee Institute School of Vetinary Medicine, the second, or third ranked school in the US!

EVERYONE who works there (and everyone I have encountered in the past 9 years) really seems to care about animals. I usually see Dr. Ross. She is always very honest and forthcoming with us about what we are dealing with. We have had some very weird things to deal with. Dr. Ross has always been on top of things when what we were dealing with was not always clear-cut. When we have had any procedure done, she personally calls to let me know of the outcome, etc. Because I trust them, I will only board my dog (Lucky) with them. The staff are all so professional and also very loving. I have NEVER overheard any of the staff complaining and I have NEVER seen anyone who works there in a bad mood. When it comes to price...I wouldn't really know how to compare. I can only say that having an animal is a big responsibility, so you have to expect to pay for the upkeep. I started going to Dr. Ross when we found Lucky...mainly because it was close to our house. Now I go because I am very satisfied with her staff and her services.

We came to BBAC after having a horrible experience with another vet clinic. We have seen both Dr. Ping and Dr. Ross and were pleased with both. Dr. Ross has been treating my older dog and is very compassionate and gentle with him. I highly recommend BBAC.

I have used BBAH for the past 15 years. The entire staff has been wonderful; they are sympathetic and have the ability to be empathetic as well. I would have to say that Dr. Ping is our "primary vet," but I would use Dr. Ross as well. Dr. Ping has NEVER talked over our head. He has ALWAYS been very thorough when explaining our pet's condition, whether it has been and illness or "well check." He has always returned our calls when we had a question or concern, and he has NEVER seemed as if we "put him out" or that he was frustrated that we called. He is a more conservative vet and would rather try the least invasive approach to your pet's issues than automatically order expensive tests or procedures. Our experience with Dr. Ping and BBAH has been that they care 1st for the pet, then for the pet's owner and family, and lastly, for themselves. The front office staff is kind, efficient, and always willing to work your pet in for an illness. They may be more expensive than other clinics, but ultimately, if you love your pet(s), like we do, you wouldn't want to chose a vet based on the lowest bid..."you get what you pay for!"Also, he has helped us to make life and death decisions concerning our pets. Our daughter's 3 yr. old female rat terrier mix, Bailey, ingested a long nylon string, of which we were not aware. After treating her conservatively for a few days, her condition worsened. Dr. Ping ordered "digestive" x-rays to determine if there was a blockage. Upon analyzing the x-rays, Dr. Ping could see that she had a digestive obstruction, and she would not be able to pass whatever it was. After completely explaining the next step, my daughter decided to allow exploratory surgery. After only a few minutes exploration, he found a long string of some kind had caused the obstruction and had caused the intestine to wrap around itself several times, which cut off blood supply to the organs. Dr. Ping found that a small part of her large intestine and a large portion of her small intestines had been damaged, the organ was for the most part "dead." Dr. Ping brought my 21 year old daughter and my husband in and very carefully and thoughtfully explained her condition. If Dr. Ping were able to connect the differing tissues, since so much of the organ had been destroyed, Bailey would only have a 10% chance of survival, and if she did make it, her quality of life would be compromised. With Dr. Ping's compassion and knowledge, he answered all of their questions and gave them time to make the hard decision. My daughter decided to euthanize her. Dr. Ping and his staff were extremely kind and thoughtful during this painful process. They allowed my husband and daughter to spend some "time" with Bailey before the procedure, and then, after she was euthanized, they brought Bailey in a warm, soft blanket to my daughter and let her hold her "baby" as long as she needed in a quiet room. They were so caring throughout our loss. Our daughter and family received a sympathy card a few days after Bailey's death - with handwritten signatures, not computer generated, expressing their sorrow. They truly do care about their patients, our "babies," as well as their owners.

I love Dr. Ping- he's taken care of my family's dogs, and my in-laws dogs for years. He's wonderful. He is frank and matter of fact. I like that if I think I know what's wrong with my dog he'll correct me- if you want to think you know more about your animal than Dr. Ping, then don't go to him. He's first rate, first class and he's a great vet. And this comes from the wife of a vet student, so I know what to look for! Great place!!

Even though this office is closer to me, I no longer take my pets here. They are overpriced. Dr Ping is probably a good vet, but such a poor communicator, I always left feeling I knew less about my pet's condition than before I went in. There used to be other vets that I liked much better, but they're no longer there. I wonder why. Office staff is efficient and polite.
