I currently went in to Melissa's Academy to review the classes to possibly enroll and was very concerned at the student/coach ratio. They are allowing 18 to 20 small children attend this studio with only 1 coach. The coach tried very hard to contol the children but when doing Gymnastics it is very dangerous to only allow one jadult for spotting reasons. When asked about this I was told by the coach at the time that the owner is supposed to be the other adult but does not show up half the time. I called other locations in Round Rock and found that the Student/Coach ratio was 8 students to 1 Coach. This pleased my husband and I so much that we signed our daughter up at that studio and don't mind the drive at all.
I do think the children have fun because it is more like a Day Camp then a training facility. The space is very limited also so if you are really wanting your child to study Dance it is OK but if it is Cheerleading/Gymnastics then this studio is a joke. Don't waste your money.

I recently went and watched to recital that Melissa's Academy put on. It was alright, nothing spectacular. The technique though was not there, and some of the choreography was a little watered down for the older ages. They should be able to be doing triple, fourettes, switch leaps, seconds, etc. Instead they were doing what my 7 year old girls are doing. I would say it's a studio to attend if you want to just say you dance and have fun, But if you are really serious about your kids, and their dancing life I would recommend a more "fit to shape" studio up in austin, roundrock area. But that is just my opinion. God Bless those who dance!!

My daughter takes gymnastics here and she has alot of fun and is also learning many things. The classes are small enough that each child get personalized attention. Much better than driving into Austin or Round Rock and paying higher prices.
