My family absolutely loves MIchael's. The food is delicious and very affordable. Our experience has always been a pleasant one and the staff is always friendly and prompt. Their rolls are awesome and it's hard not to get full on just these alone. It is a BYOB restaurant which is not an issue with me since I go for the food! It's a cozy environment that is reminiscent of the family restaurants in Italy. Craving Italian food?! Definitely head to Michael's Italian Kitchen and you won't be disappointed!

Standard, workman-like but always hot food - with an unhealthy side of AWFUL customer interaction and downright intimidation!

This place won't last given the tone set by the manager and supported by the (family) staff who have to go behind him with apologies. Granted the food is okay to good and the price is right...but really, dining is importantly, an experience as well. The unsettling aura of that manager is scary, at best. We opt for good service, good prices and good attitude to augment a decent plate of food.

We have brought them many customers over the years. Still after 5 years, we were recognized only when it was convenient, and long ago gave up any expectation of being welcomed back (except by Flora - if you go, ask for only Flora or her brother to serve you!)

Finally the last straw - this week we were told not to come back/basically thrown out by the manager. Note - We aren't trouble makers or carpool drunks - a party of six ranging in age 60 to 80! Our "crime" was questioning being told to stand and pay at the counter (we had specifically requested separate checks at the outset, and had always received separate checks over the last five years!)

The manager is, simply put: AWFUL, ...rude, threatening, off-the-wall and down right intimidating - I pity his dog, if he has one. His own sister has to go behind him, apologizing for his actions (and has done so to us on more than one occasion.)

Given their "kitchen" mentality, If Michael's were not a BYOB establishment, their business would be in the CRAPPER - just like their attitude.

My view: KITCHEN mentality; KITCHEN/Workman Food Quality; ...CRAPPER attitude. We will definitely NOT go back!

This is the best Italian food in all of dallas. The chicken entrees are so delicious and nothing can beat there casseroles. Their homemade house dressing and dinner rolls are fantastic. The service and atmosphere are welcoming. I have never or willl never find a better place to eat

This restaurant is a find in the Irving - D/FW area. We are regulars here. These people know how to make authentic Italian food. Baked in house bread w/ real butter. Specialty appetizer Caesar salad worth the surcharge.

Their pasta's are delicious; Lasagna and other casserole dishes equally good. Only Eggplant Parm. wasn't perfect.... it was deep fried pieces of eggplant placed around a plate with cheese and sauce; not the usual Italian casserole style. Pizza's delicious!. The sausage dishes very good & meatballs tasty. Chicken, Veal all good; have had limited seafood.

Try it, you'll like it!

We had been to this restaurant more than once, and the younger waiter told us about it being family owned, liquor license, his motorcycle, etc. On this particular visit, after we ate and were waiting on the dessert menu, the young man stood near our table with his arms folded, hip and leg stuck out, looking at us with an attitude. It was obvious he wanted us out, however we wanted dessert. We felt unwelcomed, he was trying to intimidate us. It was a very wierd experience. After staring us down with attitude, he asked us very flippantly, "Do you want coffee, or dessert, or something?" We split a dessert. Because the dessert was under $5, they would only accept cash. Dessert was $4.75, and we left $6 case. He gave us .75 back??? Get past the akwardness, the sauces on the food are very good, however I don't appreciate putting seafood on the Specials, when the seafood is obviously not fresh. I think the reason this restaurant is still in business is because of all the transient people living in the multiple apt complex's nearby. Also, on a previous occassion, they gave us someone elses bill, which was more than ours. We mistakenly paid it, and noticed the overcharge after we got home.

The best gnocchi in the metroplex is right here at Michael's. Delicious dinner rolls, sizeable salads, wonderful sauces, nice outside seating. Make sure you BYOB. And make sure to allow a lot of time for the slow service.
