I heard about Traders village and the Puppy mills attending selling expensive sick Dogs. I had to see for myself so I attended.. What I witnessed was HORRIBLE... I saw breeder after breeder selling puppies that were lying in feces The people running these booths could not clean it up fast enough and PEOPLE were STILL BUYING>>>> There were many puppies with the deadly desease PARVO. If you have ever smelled the disease YOU WILL NEVER FORGET IT. There were 2 grieving families there, both PROTESTING the puppy mills. Both families had picures of their dieing puppies. Only weeks after they had purchased them fell in love with them and then lost them to the decease.

PUPPY MILLS SHOULD NEVER BE SUPPORTED. EVER. There are too many dogs that need homes and too many horrific stories of breeding compounds run with negligence and the complete lack of compassion for animals.

PLEASE reconsider before you BUY a puppy from a mill or ANY STORE THAT SELLS PUPPIES FROM MILLS.

If we don't contribute to the DEMAND there will no longer be the SUPPLY JUST SAY NO TO PUPPY MILLS.
Its the right thing to do!
Merry Christmas to the Dog Lovers and their Families

Please don't give your money to this store, they buy these infant puppies from puppy mills where dogs are treated worse than you can imagine. If you want to save these dogs' lives then don't support this store any longer by paying them hundreds of dollars! Get this store shut down and when the dogs are handed over to a shelter go adopt them from the shelter and pay your donation to A SHELTER, NOT A STORE THAT SUPPORTS PUPPY MILLS.

Stay away!!! Yes, this is a "Bootleg" pet store! They have costs us over $1000 and they're stupid enough to think they're gonna get away with it!! I don't know how sucessful others have been but I have the means and plan to take this all the way to court!! This is ridiculous. We bought a puppy from the College Station store. After numerous trips to the ER, she died within the 30 day warranty. The store manager goes back and forth with me for 2 weeks. I sent them the autospy stating that the puppy was born without a Thymus, the organ that produces protein. How in the world is that not under warranty?? They sold us a defected puppy. All we want back is the amount we paid for the dog. We had to pay over $600 just to have her put down. We're not even asking for that! Then they had to nerve to ask us if we wanted another sick puppy!! I wouldn't take another dog from them if they were giving them away!! We asked for the owners number in order to speak with him directly and we were told this was his final word. We will let a judge decide that! Stay away from that store!!

I love The Puppy Store, especially the one in the Woodlands. The store is so clean and always smells good. There is always a dog or two out running around the store, and all of the dogs are always clean. There is never any pee or poop in the cages and they always have food and water. I really enjoy visiting the store and getting to play with all of the puppies. Hopefully soon I will be able to buy one of those little guys.

Just purchased a new puppy, and I'm very pleased. On a scale of 1 to 5 I would give the store a "4.5" not a perfect score because I think the dog was priced a little high. Now looking back my new puppy was worth every penny.

Okay, let this be a warning! First, you will probably get a very sick puppy and secondly, the vet you have to take your dog to sucks! (Oak Ridge Vet). We bought a beagle from The Puppy Store-Woodlands and took it to the vet the next day for the warranty. Vet said the dog was good and healthy, eventhough I told them she had runny stools, they said it was due to stress of a new environment. Well, four days later I had to take her back to the vet because the runny stools turned bloody and I was scared she was going to make my other dog sick. The second time at the vet they now said she was very, very sick and the list to make her better along with the price was out of control. They also said that they see way too many puppies from that place that are all very sick, but they (oak ridge) feel the need to take care of these animals for the community. Please, they ought to turn in this store instead of enabling them. Anyway, I called my husband from the vet and he immediately drove over to The Puppy Store to see if they were going to pay to get our beagle better. He spoke to a teenage girl who called the manager and he told my husband we could pick another puppy.(What were they going to do with our puppy???) We told him we wanted our puppy, but we wanted her healthy. So we had to take her back to the store so that they could nurse her back to health and they said they would call us for updates. We did not see our puppy for two weeks and we only got two phone calls. Basically, we thought we were not getting her back, but we finally got the call to come pick her up. She is all better now and we love her to death, but a very sad twist to this story is my other dog got hurt so we took him to Oak Ridge Vet since we had been dealing with them with the puppy and they did not do an appropriate exam on my dog and gave him a shot of steroids which hindered his healing and after a second visit to that vet my dog kept getting worse, we finally took him to another vet and they shaved his fur and did a correct exam, but by then it was too late and infection had set in and he was becoming toxic and we had to put him down. So Oak Ridge killed my dog!!!! They suck and so does The Puppy Store! You will buy a sick dog and then you have to take them to that vet for the warranty-DON"T DO IT, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

My Mom bought me a beautiful little Havachon puppy this weekend for my birthday and he is wonderful. I am very happy with him, but I wish someone would have explained teething amongst puppies a little better. Thanks again Mom!

I purchased my baby Boston Terrier at the sister Puppy Store in The Woodlands Tx. The store does seem to be clean, I will give them that much. The lady that sold me the puppy told me I had to take it to their vet in order for the 14 day warrenty to apply. Later rereading the contract, this is not true. They just don't make you pay if its their vet. They sent me to Oak Ridge Vet and the day that I went, the vet office was soiled and dirty and you could see sick dogs in the room behind the desk with the doors open so thier germs could flow everywhere. I took her to the vet 3 days after purchase. Low and behold 6 days later we have horrible Kennel Cough. Their office is not open, they are not answering the phone, and I refuse to take my dog back to the dirty vet. I take her to my vet, and 100 dollars later, we are home, I am scrubbing everythin down, disinfecting the whole dang house because I have two other bostons (who are vaccinated). I talked to DJ who is the manager from the College Station store. He said dogs dont just come down with symptoms of kennel cough over night and he accused me of not answering my phone when they called to check on the puppy. THEY CALLED ONE TIME on day two. Asked if she slept through the night. NEVER did they call again. So he basically said I was a liar and I should ahve just waited until they opened to discuss it with them. Well, my puppy was choking on flem and vomit from coughing so hard. But he had no sympathy. Said I could let them take her and make her better or take her back to their (dirty) vet office. He promised to call and check up on her the next day. He did not. Some girl called a few days later and had no idea my dog was sick. Now, 7 days later... My 1 year old boston, a month shy of her booster shot, started coughing... YEP just like that... No sneeze first, no water eyes first, no "hey mom my throat hurts"... no NOTHING... JUST STARTED COUGHING (DUH). Kennel Cough.. and is hacking up a storm and its the middle of the night. Do you think the F-ing Puppy store would give a damn? Hell no! They had no sympathy, why would they now? They would have rather Iet my puppy suffer until they opened then get her to a vet to make sure she doesn't aphixiate on her own vomit!

If your the puppy store, go ahead and call me if you want to discuss this. You have my number on file! Why don't you just call me a liar again! Your the Liar! If your Oak Ridge.. Shame on you for letting your clinic get so nasty.. I don't care if you were "Busy". Hire some more staff to clean those germs up!!

If your looking for a puppy, there are plenty of reputable breeders. And the puppy store is most likely not buying from them I promise. Reputable breeders don't use some never heard of registration company. They use ACK, CKC and such. this is how you know your getting what you say your getting.

Just got a new beagle after my son insisted we go by the shop. I thought at the time I'm paying too much, but looking back on the last few weeks he is worth it. He keeps my son occupied at least.

Just picked up a new schnauzer for my child the puppy is doing great, and I found the store very helpful. Also some of you people need to get a life, its one thing to post a product review and its another thing to just go around and stir up trouble. On the animal shelter comment, HA do you know how many people have had serious issues come out of that place.

I just got a maltese for my mom for christmas about a week ago and it had a slightly runny nose. I took it to the vet that they recommended, north bryan I think is what it was, and they told me she had kennel cough. They gave me the medication she needed and all I had to pay for was the visit which was 35 dollars. Emily I didn't realize the store was going to be shut down and I wish I had known but I did a little research on it and all I could find was one time when the dogs got seized but all but 2 were returned with no problems. Then the animal shelter that kept the 2 dogs put one of them down immediately even though it had a minor stomach bug just because it was a pit bull? I can't believe the county I live in puts pit bulls down on site and didn't even give it a chance. Either way my dog is doing better and was well on her way to recovery before I gave her to my mom and she was so excited! I wish my dog hadn't been sick but even though she was they did everything they could to pay for the problem so I am not sure what else to ask for.

I'm a College Station native, and everyone I have ever known who has gotten a puppy from the Puppy Store has had a horrible experience. They have been questioned and almost shut down several times for failure to maintain proper care, and every time you walk by, you'll see and smell the neglect these puppies get. Yes, they're still cute, even as they sit in their own waste, but they are all small, neglected, and malnourished. The Puppy Store has a horrible reputation for selling underage, sick, or mislabled breeds of dogs. If you read the reviews here, there seem to be two opposing forces: The puppy store is a bad, bad place, and "The puppy store is amazing, and I would reccomend it to everyone! Thank you to all the amazing employees!" .... It sounds like the owner has discovered these ratings too, and someone is adding fake positives to keep the overall rating up. Notice how they're all worded the same?
If you're thinking about the Puppy Store for adoption, please, please think twice; and do some research on all the attempts to shut it down.

I purchased a pit bull over the summer from this store and the dog had some minor stomach problems when I took it to the vet. But the vet, and the store, reassured me that the bacteria was very common and could be easily treated with medication. Well they definitely held up their end of the bargain and paid for any medication Henry needed and it cleared up very quickly. I was very worried about Henry but I must say The Puppy Store came through for me and helped me make sure Henry was much better asap. They even called me everyday to check on him and that helped reassure me that they really cared what happened to him. I would, and have, recommend this store to anyone looking for a new puppy in the BCS area!

I have bought 2 dogs from The Puppy Store and have never had any problems. The staff is very knowledgeable and I love getting my dogs groomed there! The prices are extremely reasonable and cheaper than most breeders I could find. Every dog is registered and they give you all of the puppies information when you leave. I wouldn't dream of buying my next puppy anywhere else and hope that all their puppies find a new home for the christmas season!

DO NOT PURCHASE a dog here...no matter how cute it is! I also fell for those beady eyes and the sweet puppy breath and found the dog of my dreams. Unfortunately, within 36 hours I took her to 5 veterinarians, including a 6 hour visit to the veterinary school at Texas A&M...only to find out that the dog was younger than the store claimed, had intestinal parasites (2 kinds), a congenital kidney defect and was in renal failure. The dog was literally passing away in front of my eyes. She never walked, ate or drank from the moment I took her home. A veterinary specialist who had been in practice for 25 years informed me that the dog was in the process of dying and would not live, so I made the difficult decision to euthanize her and help her get to heaven without suffering. It was a devastational experience for me. Thousands of dollars later, I am heartbroken and dog-less. The management refuses to answer questions and claims their dogs are not from mills. They ARE. BELIEVE IT. These animals are not healthy, no matter how they look in the store. In the end, their guarantee is crap, though they claim that they will offer you another dog and will never give money back. They even accused me of "making up the story" and said that they "may or may not" give me another dog. Who wants ANOTHER dog from a bad experience. Regardless of how many "healthy" dogs they claim to sell, they truly owe some compassion to those who do have a tragic loss. I didn't spend thousands of dollars and days off work to be accused of lying and told that my guarantee was invalid because I euthanized a dog who was already dying in front of my eyes. Seeing a puppy slither like a snake because it could not eat or drink and had health issues is tragic. Who wants to watch a creature die?! A life is not a returnable commodity! You guys at The Puppy Store have it all wrong!!? I hope this store gets shut down ASAP!

p.s. Their guarantee said to call them if your dog has troubles, so I did. It happened after hours. They have no answering service for you to leave a message on! And they claim that they call to "check in on all dogs purchased" within the first two days. I got zero calls. Coincidence that they don't hold their end of the bargain? I think not - they know what poor business they are in and propbably have their employees fooled too!!

I said would not buy a pet from a mall store. Well never say never. Its like rescuing from a bad environment. In
fact we brought 4 dogs. yes asked about the puppy mill
as a source for breeders, said no but i was doubtful on
this. The puppies were very affectionate, overall
appeared in good health from a visual stance. But i
knew was taking them directly to my vet. Since my
vet had raised the breed, he said overall was in good
shape. no show quality but wasnt looking for that
anyway. The other two were brought by a family
member and the vet said the same about them. Yes
we are dealing with some issue like the cough, and
parasite in the stool. But at the moment all under
control and not much more than when i brought
my last dog and cat from a so call reputable breeder.
So dont have any real negative comment, got what
i was expecting. Yes wish they had a better
environment to be raised but it is in a mall shop. I just
hope others that get sold end up in a good home
and care as our 4 did.

I bought a maltese there and, turns out he is gay!
Dang it!!! Anyway I took him back and they offered to change his sex for me and I agreed. It was a in-house process. When I went back to get him he was not only sex changed but looked like a Pit-Bull now.
I love these guys and love what they did for my Ruffus, or Ruffiella now.
Great store don't know how they do it but I won't ask.
I like my maltese alot or Pit Bull, or whatever he...she is now.

Thanks Puppy Store, you guys are genious..

Numerous times I have walked into this pathetic excuse of a store and seen the same thing; shaking, tiny puppies huddled in their food/water bowl to get off the grated bottom of their shelterless cage. I once saw a Pit Bull puppy urinating blood, and when I alerted the sales woman she looked at me like I was inconveniencing her! I returned to the store an hour later, and the puppy was still up for sale with even more bloody urine and runny stool in the bottom of the cage. I have met several people who have purchased puppies from this horrible place, only to find out their dogs are much younger than they were told they were and normally have to spend another $400 on trying to fix all the problems wrong with the puppy. One woman I know very well bought a chihuahua from the store and has now spent well over $4,000 fixing him, because this store sold her a 4 week old puppy! This store needs to be shut down and the puppies need to go to responsible caretakers and found good homes. This place is despicable and a horrible place to find a new member of the family! Check out the Brazos County Animal Shelter! I've seen healthier puppies there than the ones at this store for sure! HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE STORE!!! I hope it gets shut down.

The store is horrible. I purchased a dog in November 2008, had to put it down Feb 2009. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do. It was very young and small. Started having seizures within the first month, took it to the vet and he said it had damages to its brain that he was born with that only puppies from puppy mills develop because they are inbreeds. The store will not give us are money back and the only thing they will offer is another dog. Why on EARTH would I want to go through that again.Do not buy from this store!! We are pressing charges.

The dogs, they are too young to be sold. I worked next door at laser works (the owner owned that one also), and I had to go through the puppy store to clock in. I never saw food or water in their cages. They never let the puppies out and so they sat in their own waste. The groomer they have their gave me back my dog choking on his own saliva because she had him so worked up. . His eyes were almost glued shut with soap she failed to rinse out.

I was seasonal help over the Christmas Holidays. When my time was up, they asked if I wanted to continue working but I told them that I really needed to put all my time into school. The real reason was I just couldn't take looking at those poor dogs knowing how they are treated when no one was looking. They get all those puppies from puppy mill breeders, they lie on the paperwork about their age (selling a dog at 4 weeks of age but saying the dog is 6 weeks) so the buyer will think the dog is super tiny, giving the dogs little to eat to keep them small. I cant tell you how many times buyers would come back angry after taking the pups to the vet and finding out the truth. We even had vets come in and talk to management about the care of the dogs. We had one couple come in to buy two toy poodles. We didnt have any at the time so management made up new papers on two maltese and sold them as poodles. The man came back in a few weeks later with documents from his vet but store wouldnt do anything to correct this (give the guy his money back!).

We just bought a puppy from here. We were told she was 7 weeks old. After taking her to the vet, it turns out she is 6 weeks old going off of the size of her teeth. The girls at the store were incompetent. They were supposed to give me wet food for my dog and forgot to include it. They were all highschoolers and there was no one there who was old enough to be a licensed veterinarian.
My dog has stopped drinking water and I think it's because she was too young to be weaned from her mother. If anything happens to her, I am going to pursue legal actions against the store. This is ridiculous.

My mother purchased a puppy several years ago at this store . Thousands of dollars and a blood transfusion later, the puppy survived. She made the mistake of buying another puppy last Sunday, 1200 dollars and a week later the puppy is dead. The dog was to young to be away from its mother, would never eat and had several seizures. We were told that they thought it was distempered which is highly contagious to other dogs. This is a very sad thing and I am not done with this store yet. It is inhumane to make an animal suffer like this to make a quick buck.

I recently went into the store to purchase a dog. While in the store i saw a small chocolate Chihuahua that was shaking uncontrollably and his eyes were rolling in the back of his head. He eventually collapsed in front of my eyes. i was so disgusted that i had to leave. It was ridiculous. He was obviously malnutrition ed and not taken care of. Many of the puppies had no food or water in there CAGE and the smell was unbearable. Most of the dogs looked very sickly. I have contacted PETA and the Better Business Bureau in hopes of giving these puppies a chance.

I got my husky from The Puppy Store about two years ago. I was told he was 6 weeks old when in fact he was barely 5 weeks old. I didn't realize it until I got home and took a really good look at his birthday and AKC papers. When I called to make it known that I was deceived and ask if there would be any health problems or other concerns with my adorable puppy, I was told that the breeders can sell the dogs as soon as the puppy has been able to eat dry dog food. I think that it was a poor choice for the breeder to wean the dog so early, and I think it was poor business for the Puppy Store to purchase a dog that was so young. Either they didn't care or didn't take the time to notice that the puppy was way to young. He turned out to be a fantastic addition to our family; however, he is small for his breed and age. I have no doubt that it has something to do with being taken from his mother too early. He also has cataracts at only 2 years old, which I have been told is genetic. I understand that the breeder may not have known that this particular blood line had this defect, but based on the fact that the puppy was sold at such a young age, I have no choice to believe that profit was the only thing the breeder was concerned with. Unfortunately, I cannot breed my beautiful dog now, because I would hate to pass along the disappointment of having a dog that could suffer from cataracts. I have no complaints about the service, I have been in several times just to visit the puppies; however, I am complaining about the business practices.

The pets that come through this store, are from the mills. They are kept in confined cages without any area around to play or walk. Although the service might be helpful, this shop is small and doesn't have all pet needs. The puppies are always for sale and it makes me sad how they just filter puppies through there with such small holding kennels. Go somewhere else to find a humanely treated animal!

I recently bought a rat terrier from the Puppy Store at the Post Oak Mall, and I love him. He has been a great addition to the family, and I would recommend this store to everyone. At first I was looking into other breeds, but after talking with the staff they explained some of the good and bad points to each breed and help me make the right choice. I have heard people say don't buy puppies from pet shops, but they can never really explain why they just quote some stereotype about puppy mills with no real proof or evidence. All I can say is I know for a fact my dog is great and he came from the Puppy Store.

I recently bought a Boston Terrier from The Puppy Store located at the Post Oak Mall in College Station. I am very pleased with my purchase, and would recommend them to anyone. One thing that I really liked was their extended health warranties, I checked with many breeders and was unable to locate any who would warranty their puppies for longer than 72 hours. My dog came with a standard 14 day warranty, and I was able to purchase an additional 90 days. Great Store!

The employees were very helpful. They are very knowledgeable in the breeds that they have. The owner was on site an introduced himslef to me and help me in every step to find my new puppy (Max). I even got a free dog tag with Max's name on it. All around this store is great. I know that my puppy came from a local breeder in nearby Caldwell and not from a puppy mill. Thank you and your friendly staff. It was a great.
