Juan's was one of my favorite spots in Dallas for lunch. The prices were more than reasonable and the food was always terrific. The Azteca Burrito was one of my favorites, and although not a regular menu item they were always willing to prepare it.

I have no clue why but the restaurant is now closed.

Horrible service! Required a Texas ID to have an alcoholic beverage to a WELL over age person! And then was harrassed for about my age and told by the waiter he would "go to jail" for serving us. He then slammed the drink on the table, and when we asked for our check, he practically threw it at us. Does not cater to out-of-state patrons and waitstaff was actually quite threatening. Waitstaff was absolutely horrible. Not a good place to eat. Left restaurant without eating- BY CHOICE - lost our appetites after the aforementioned drink service. Will never step foot in this place again! NO ONE EVER SHOULD!

I have been going to this restaurant for 3 years. The fact that this small, family owned business could hold its own (pay rent) on a such a major intersection for so many years is a testament to the quality of this restaurant. The Margaritas are great!!! The sour cream sauce is amazingly good. Their chip are always hot and crisp. And the best thing about this place is the price. The Azul margarita is huge and awesome...only $5. My boyfriend and I can have dinner and drinks for less than $30, including tip. I have taken numerous family and friends to dine here, all left as more than satisfied customers.

Pros: Drinks, chip and salsa, family owned, authentic

Cons: the ambience is lacking, "a nicely kept hole in the wall"... but I say that w/ love for restaurant!!

It is wonderful to have a restaurant near your house, with an excellent service and with a very good variety of mexican food. I honestly recomend this restaurant for all people who want to taste a different and delicious breakfast (especially the chilaquiles and eggs). This restaurant is under new managment, so you can taste the original and traditional mexican food.

I'm a customer from Juan's restaurant since two years ago, and my recently visit on October, 2007
I experience a very good service. Due to the new management who were very kind with me and my family.
The main rason I recomend this restaurant is for good variety of their new mexican dishes, speialty the
Tilapia Fish with salad, which I ate that time, and my two kids loved the cheese enchiladas.
If you visit this restaurant don't forget to try the Frozen Margaritas their are excellent.

This writing is based on my visit to Juan's last summer. Things may have improved since then, but I will never go back. I am reviewing my first and my last time to enter this establishment. In Dallas, Tex-Mex restaurants are usually hopping mad on the weekends. This was not the case at Juan's. My husband and I were probably one of perhaps 25 customers on a Friday night around 8:00. The server and host seemed a bit odd - very distant and not welcoming (server did not speak or understand English as well as one would hope). The only reason I rated this restaurant a '1' was because the strawberry margarita I drank was excellent. My husband ordered a taco salad and a margarita on the rocks. He said his food was fine, but acknowledged that it is a little difficult to mess up a salad. I had a combination platter - very bland, barely any taste, and every item on my plate tasted exactly the same. Very disappointing. It was so awful I could not finish, and we left, feeling a little disappointed. Even more upsetting was the fact that I was up almost all night sick at my stomach. I won't place the blame on Juan's, but it makes me wonder, especially after hearing others (3 co-workers) complain of the same experience post-Juan's. Either-which-way, I do not have pleasant memories of Juan's and I would not recommend it. If you enjoy great Tex-Mex, I suggest trying Posado's, Pappasito's or Luna de Noche.
