I agree with Ryan, VIP treatment from start to finish! I have seen a lot of negative ads from 2011, it seems like someone was bitter and decided to bash Starpower. The truth is they are an excellent company with first-class customer service. They are slightly more expensive than the big box stores, but the quality of products is far superior. I recommend Starpower for people who want the highest level of customer service and top of the line electronics products!

I had a completely different experience at Starpower. The salespeople were helpful and knowledgable. The products were first rate. From start to finish the people at Starpower treated me great, treated me like a VIP. I love the system they installed at my house. Never once have i had a problem with it, and the sound system blows my friends away.

I even recommended Starpower to my kids school for their needs. I recommend Starpower to all my friends, they are an excellent company.

Salesperson's knowledge was outstanding! The installation crew that showed up was wonderful and very friendly. My home theater room turned out to be just what I expected (even though it took a full day, plus another VERY rushed 3 or 4 hours to finish)

The only reason I gave 2 stars:
Upon the 2nd day's return visit from the installation crew, I had the chance to really get to know these two guys, and what they go through on what seems to be almost a daily basis.
For one, they said that they never know what time their day will end. The installer said that it might be 3pm, or, if they get finished with their day before 6ish, they may get back to their install bay and have another home theater to install across town.
A lot of days, they said they are given 6 or more jobs to do. Each job may last 2 hours or more. And sometimes they are forcedto start a 6-8 hour installation job around 6 or 7pm, and have to finish it that day.
He also said that they don't know their scheduled jobs until they get to work every morning, which makes making plans with wives or family impossible. They also said that no installer has gotten a raise within the past 4-6 years because the company isn't being profitable (even though there has been multiple $80k 'company cars' purchased by and for the operators of the company. Along with using their various installers to do misc. task around their houses such as change lightbulbs, hang paintings, put together furniture that wasn't from their company, etc..) Not to mention Suggesting installation people to use their own vehicle insurance to claim things that were stolen out of the Star-Power install vans after being parked in front of the store after hours or in front of customers' houses.
My personal experience with the company should rate higher than a 2. But The sympathy I feel for these poor souls that entered my house, and others, couldn't help but bring that score down.

Go to Star-Power if you want a lot of knowledgeable answers to your questions, and some good deals. But please, for the sake of those that do the dirty work, go somewhere else.

Well, so I have learned that if you are not a Star, nor have Power... you are basically trash for all they care.

They add on terribly unnecessary expenses if you have them over for an estimate and it is hidden in the printout so that one would not notice at all. The Star Treatment package is a joke, and I feel for anyone suckered into this. Too many of my friends have now told me great horror stories of having to hire secondary and even third party contractors to fix what they never would complete.

Yeah, I will admit that the stores are impressive, and so is the knowledge of the sales people.... however they have to make a profit I would assume... A VERY BIG PROFIT to make up for all of the jargon right?

Yeahhhh, they are way overpriced, and don't let them fool you with the "free TV promotions either. Its just an overpriced TV that you pay for and get the other one (low end pos) for free. Not! ...you paid for it actually.

Do your research first, and then see if a local smaller dealer can help you instead. They do not seem to put on all of the fancy fireworks and tell you the truth.

I happened to find one near where I lived that did not give me all of the razzle dazzle and just got to the point.

Mark, I am not sure your motivation on this posting, but you have your facts wrong. Starpower was involved with the builder from the very start as we worked directly with them on this room prior to it being built. I was actually in that room when there were no walls and we discussed expanding the theater space. The decision was made to make it a disco. You are correct, that the builder ultimately designed and built the disco room after our discussion. Nowhere does Starpower take credit for the finish out of the room. We do, however, take credit for integrating the room with the AMX touch panel, video switching for all 5 screens, high performance speakers and a/v receiver, the disco ball and smoke machine and the in floor subwoofers (that were installed under the floor on the side walls). The work is something we are proud of and shouldn't be libeled by those with questionable motivation.

100% Fraud. Go to their website and look under case-studies ??Victorian home?. They claim that they found ??unused attic space along the side of the theatre?. Are you freaking kidding me??? I know for a fact that this home was built as a custom from the ground up. The disco room is and was on the original building plans. Furthermore, Star power took no part in the install of the floor, Venetian plaster, or lights. They claim they installed ??under floor subwoofers?. Are you kidding again? There are no under floor subwoofers in that home. I have had work done by this builder and I know that he has framed in and installed many of these disco floors as one of his signature items. They are totally flush with the rest of the floor and wired in from the rough-wire stage. That house was a parade of homes winner and is still a model home today. The only thing Star power did in that room was put in crappy wall speakers. Why not use your own work to sell your customers???

We have an awesome media room and the highest quality products! Our 3D TV rocks the house and watching movies in our room with the surround sound is the best! You just can't find this quality at any store and that is why we chose to invest our hard earned dollars in StarPower SouthLake.
We have had a few life lessons along the way regarding electronic products, but life is about learning lessons and StarPower has been great!
Shout out to Elisha, the service manager, who has been the most caring and compasionate person by far.

I received consistent, superior service from the North Dallas Starpower team. I??m a person who greatly admires fine audio/video equipment, but knows little to nothing as to how to install, tweak or God-forbid, move it to another location. To date, I??ve purchased from the Starpower Oaklawn store a 50? Sony plasma TV, a 42? LG plasma TV, a marvelous Bang & Olufsen stereo system and speakers, a whole-house audio system and too many other components to count or list.

I love it all! The reason this technology works so well for me (a non-techie) is because Starpower has extraordinary associates who not only provide great consultation and installation, but also ensure that their clients can actually USE the equipment comfortably.

Scott McDowell is one of those associates. My work schedule can be hectic, leaving me with little availability for daytime appointments at home. Scott was tremendously flexible and understanding, meeting me at whatever time works for me to consult on a new project. Starpower did a great job of visiting my home after the delivery of new equipment to ensure everything was installed perfectly, performs as it should, and that I know how to use the technology with ease.

The Starpower team is professional, highly knowledgeable, gracious and thorough. I??ve told numerous friends about Starpower and the excellent service I have received over the years.

I am absolutely satisfied with my recent experience in dealing with Starpower. I have been in the market for upgrading my home theater system for some time and had been shopping not only online, but at electric stores throughout Dallas. The myriad of choices of equipment, pricing, and installation options, to say the least, was daunting. After visiting Starpower, my search for a system ended at that moment.

I was immediately impressed with the wide range of product displays, the knowledge and friendliness of the sales staff, and the overall ambiance of the store. Mr. Robert Sam became my sales advisor and scheduled an in-home appointment and interview to assess my needs. He was very knowledgeable on all aspects of audio/visual equipment and installation and asked all the right questions of me and answered all of mine. Based on the information he gathered, he put together a package that easily met all of my expectations: cutting edge technology, equipment choice and compatibility, upgradeability and fair pricing.

My good fortune did not stop in the showroom. Two highly qualified and professional technicians arrived promptly at the appointment time at my house to offload, uncrate and seamlessly set up my new Sony Bravia LCD and components, exactly how I wanted it all done. All wiring was expertly installed and bundled, each piece of equipment was carefully integrated into my existing system, everything was properly programmed and thoroughly tested, and clean-up was impeccable. Finally, they sat down and explained all operational issues to me in layman??s terms, and invited me to call them personally if I had any questions or problems with my installation.

My whole experience at Starpower was most satisfying and enjoyable. The expert, honest advice and personalized attention I received from everyone I dealt with was superior in every respect. And especially gratifying was the courtesy extended after everything was one. I will highly recommend Starpower to all of my friends and colleagues as the BEST place to shop for home theater entertainment systems.

Although the last gentleman had a bad experience mine was quite the opposite. I went in not knowing much about what I needed the gentleman sat down with me and drew my room out and asked a lot of questions that wound up with me having just the right product for my needs. I wound up spending about 8k for the system but it was well worth it!!!

I got a quote for my Media room from Star Power that was disturbing. The quote did not reflect the correct model numbers of the product I was attempting to purchase and there was a lot of cryptic line items. The sales guys don't seem to be interested in working with you if you aren't planning on spending at least $20K. I'm sorry, I don't have that much to spend. My overall experience there was terrible. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I've heard the owner David Pigeon is a real weasel.
