This was the worst experience I have ever had. I called the office 3 times in 2 weeks to make a appointment. I am a new patient, the front desk woman Mary said she has to call the insurance company to confirm my information, then she will call me back. That was 2 weeks ago. As you can imagine, no one called me back. So I called the office, the same woman told me that they don't have my information yet. I asked her if they did contact the insurance company, she said no. I asked her when the office will contact the insurance company, she told me she can't tell me when, but I can't make a appointment without my insurance information been confirmed. I called the office again today for the third time, she told me the same thing again. I asked her to talk to the doctor or someone else. She said she is the only I can talk and make a appointment, and told me if I don't want to wait, I need to see other doctors. I was totally shocked. I don't understand how hard for the office to contact the insurance company in 2 weeks. I just wanted to make appointment. The woman Mary was very rude, and don't even care for the patient and the business. After I contacted my insurance company, the insurance company told me the dental office should alreay had my information. I wondered if there are any other people had the same experience like me. The woman Mary, she is the terrible perosn!!!

i have been filling, root canals and crowns for my teeth by dr. luk. it costed me more than $4000. the problem is, he did the job, wasnt that clean, kept making me come back and charged me every time. and make sure, ask all the price before let him check your teeth, because he always try to take the advantage of your wallet. for example last week, my tooth felt hurt, that tooth has been root canal and crown about 2 some yrs ago. then he told me need to re-root canal one more time and pay one more time.

then i made a appointment for 2 hrs re-root cancel treatment. he also doesnt really know how to manage the time...like for that the 2 hrs re-root canal appointment, most of the time i was waiting for him to come at one room. once he came, he used around 30 min to do the re-root, and said it was hard job to do it. need to re-make the 2 more hrs appointment at another day. i know it was 6pm, time to get off... he didnt stand my side to think about it, my tooth only finished 30 to 40 % the job. and asked me to come back to finish the rest of job next week . it feels more pain compare to before i didnt do the re-root. and i have to take one more day off... when i paid the bill, the front desk (his brother, tim) he saw i got some cash and said that was the cash deal, i could not pay by any kind the cards... the IRS should deal with him soon. and why i needed to pay all amount first, since the job is not done.

tomorrow will be my last time at there. no more for sure.

others, when i told him, why my one of others teeth has been filling by him before, it felt hurt. he said he could help me to check. he only used 3 min. to check it... then charged me the full price as a exam checking for that 3 min.

Dr. Luk ... i dont think he is a good dentist. and his skill and service just so so...he and his brother, Tim always think how to take the advantage from his patients.

Crazy that is. My 50 year old SO ended up in the hospital, just trying to get an initial appointment made by this nutcase Arthur Luk!
I would rate 0 or - stars if there was an option.

I had picked this place for my significant other and I, since Luk speaks Chinese which my SO understands best. I was hoping to be a patient with him also since my SO and I have the same insurance. We both have lots of dental problems.

My SO called them in the morning to arrange an appointment as a new patient. She was at a friend's house ready to go to work. They demanded a callback number. She did not know the number of her friend and was about to leave and did not have a cell phone. She was willing to hold or call back shortly, but the front desk argued no callback, no appointment! They hung up on her so she called back and actually got to talk to Luk, who was overly rude to her and hung up. She tried again, but they hung up again. They finally did not answer the phone.

At this point she should have gave up and picked a real dentist who actually wants and cares about new customers (and wants $$, too!)

She decided to visit the office personally an hour later to try to make an appointment. She said the ladies at the front desk were somewhat nice and cooperative at this time. She really wanted to ask Luk some questions in Chinese. When she got his attention, he blew up at her, yelling "You crazy lady from phone this morning! Get out! Get out" in screaming chinese-accented english. Of course, this brought out a lot of confusion and escalated quickly into loud arguements between them. Mainly she wanted to know why they treat people so bad? After too much of that, my SO felt her blood pressure rise uncontrollably (was 190 or so). This never happened to her before. Most likely she feared he would assault her. She began feeling faint, chest pains arose, and got shaky and delerious. Knowing her family has heart problems, she wanted an ambulance. Since she had no cell phone, she tried to use Luk's phone to call 911 but he pushed her away, grabbed the phone and yanked the wire out, screaming "get out! I wont call! You crazy! You crazy!" Luk called the police on his cell, which my SO hoped would happen and she staggered outside to the parking lot to get a good samaritan to call 911. Paramedics and cops arrived at the same time. She was admitted to ER where she was treated her for an anxiety attack. Her blood presure was way above normal, even during elevated anger. If this was a heart attack, it would be much worse, and they would have been the cause. No person or business should deny anyone an emergency call to 911! Nor should this type of tantrum come up!

After being discharged from the hospital as okay, she obtained the police report and will be contacting her lawyer and maybe the newpaper, as Luk will be paying her medical bill. There was NO reason for him to verbally attack people this way and act physical to her, especially a skinny 5' tall Chinese woman! Apparently Luk has some personal problems now, or something....

In this case, any decent dentist would simply say "we are not accepting new patients at this time" and end it. Why all the screaming and yelling?
I am surprised at the good reviews from this guy so far, but he has changed. If you have any problem with him or his service, then this similar thing will most likely happen to you. Get out while you can.

Needless to say, this quack will not have either of our business, nor that of our friends and relatives.

I visited this office after reading several online reviews which ranged from great to bad. I thought I that I might get lucky because the other reviewers bad experience might have been just a fluke. Unfortunately I was proven wrong.I went in for a check-up and found Dr Luk to be very kind, professional and helpful. He identfied 2 teeth that needed root canal procedure. His office manager provided a estimate. On checking with my dental insurance I found that the procedure codes (ADA code) had been jacked up to enable higher billing. On speaking with the dental office, the office manager stated that this was a common practice as the reimbursement from the insurance was not satisfactory for Dr Luk. The insurance provider requested that I file a complaint & change the dentist. The new Dentist I met confirmed that the procedures recommended by Dr Luk were not needed and just a simple filling would be sufficient. So, if you are planning to visit remember - Caveat emptor.

My husband had an infected partial tooth which needed to be removed. I found Luk Arthur DDS through Google. We were able to get a Saturday appointment. This dentist was very kind, gentle, and helped my husband feel comfortable. It was quick, and nearly painless. The staff in this office was so nice and professional. We will be coming back to this dentist as really good dentists you can trust not to over charge you are difficult to find. Thank you Dr. Luk, we really appreciate it, and we'll see you soon for a check up!

I would not visit any other dentist. Dr Luk is the best. I have referred all my friends and family. He is concerned and will only do what is necessary. I have had bad experiences finding dentists in TX for our family of 6 and I was so relieved when I found him. Keep up the good work Dr. Luk, Tim and staff.

Dr. Luk has been my family Dentist for many years. He is kind, competent, and truly cares about his patients. He does excellent work and is definitely one of the best Dentists out there. My little son LOVES going to see Dr. Luk and always looks forward to going home with a new toothbrush and toy. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Luk and highly, highly recommend him.

I did not have a good experience with Dr. Luk. I was having problems with work he had done and called about it. The staff and doctor were not very friendly or helpful. It seemed to me like I was being blown off or pushed aside. I was still in a lot of pain and his work and after care were not what I expected after paying $700. In addition he charged me for the office visit to see him about the problems with his work. I switched doctors as of a result. I would not recommend to family and friends nor will I return.

I was 7 month pregnant when I started having horrible dental pain. I went to the dentist on my insurance THREE times and each time he diagnosed me wrongly and gave me the wrong treatment. Each time all that office seemed to care about was getting paid for his services. Finally he referred me to an endodontist - I was in horrible pain driving there and even THEY could not figure it out and refused to work on me as it was time for closing and they just wanted to go home for the day.
Dr Luk to the rescue. Very luckily, I knew this wonderful dentist who was on my insurance plan in the past. They kept the office open for me that evening just so that they could help me! Dr Luk was kind, compassionate and best of all, he actually fixed the problem late that night! I could not thank him enough. And of course I switched my insurance plan to be able to have this doctor for my dentist as fast as I could.
He is kind, competent, experienced, and works with his patients to make their experience the best one possible. All dentists should take lessons from him on every aspect of being an incredible health care provider.

They're courteous, VERY helpful and go out of their way to take care of their patients. When I call, they pretty much recognize me by first name over the phone and of course know me by face. I know this personally as well as professionally. Aside from being a general patient, I was always greeted by name and they were very friendly and kind and playful. Recently I was involved in a very bad physical assault which Dr Luks ofc took me in within 2 hours of opening the ofc. (Thank God they were open on a Saturday). When he saw the extensive damage, my mental and physical state he knew how important it was to me to get me "fixed up". Knowing it would require hours of work he asked I return to the office at 5pm (closing time for most Dr.'s) He and his staff without any change of attitude or smiles worked on me till about 9pm. Yes, 9pm. Their kindness didnt change a bit. Tim & Marlene his front desk staff are a blessing to Dr. Luk too! Marlene late late year discussed insurance options with me which literally saved me thousands out of pocket for 2008 and Tim provided phones numbers I could call to obtain Crime Victim information which I never heard about. To this day, I can't say enough good things about Dr. Luk and his staff for they truly are Blessings.

Dr. Luk has been my family's dentist for years, and I'm happy to say we've had nothing but good experiences. He is a positive, caring doc with a team of real professionals at his side. As a child, I was traumatized by a dentist and have totally despised the profession since. Dr. Luk has returned my confidence and trust for dentists. Even my young daughter doesn't balk at going to see him. I cannot recommend Dr. Luk enough.
