I am the proud owner of five furry critters. I have taken them all to Dr. Norsworthy. In sickness and in health they have provided the best care to them possible. They have always been so professional and kind to my kitties. Besides the excellent care, the fact that it is a feline only clinic, helps put my cats at ease with the whole process. You will never find a big scary dog, barking at your cats. I love everything about this vet!!!

Our family has been going to Dr. Norsworthy before Alamo Feline Health Center was even planned. When the Health Center opened we were eager to follow the Doctor to his new "State of the Art" facility. We have rescued 14 cats over the last 21 years and all received excellent care from the doctor and his staff.

Unfortunately we have had to deal with several diseases with our many felines, stomatitis, heart disease, cancer, FIV and old age. We have always been confident with the diagnosis and treatment decisions for our "kids".

Pros: Best Cat care we have ever experienced

.

Back in the spring of 2006, our then 16-year-old cat was near death, and our veterinarian at the time encouraged us to see Dr. Norsworthy as soon as possible, for our vet then said there was nothing more he could do for our cat. He thought Dr. Norsworthy, as a nationally-recognized expert in feline health care, would be able to help us. We got in to see Dr. Norsworthy within one hour of our call to his office, and to make a very long and drawn-out story short, through the expert care, advice and counsel of Dr. Norsworthy and his staff, our geriatric cat recovered and thrived for nearly three more years. Now, as a result of his great care of our cat, Dr. Norsworthy is the veterinarian for three Bannwolf households.

Pros: Dr. Norsworthy and his staff; state-of-the-art facility

Cons: Absolutely none

For over 10 years my four cats and my husband and I have remained confident and secure in the knowledge that a specific cat care facility has been available to us. Dr. Norsworthy is an expert in feline care, and literally wrote the book!! Their equipment and diagnostic facilities are top rate and up to date. I have nothing but praise for this facility.

Pros: Excellent care, knowledgeable staff, clean, safe boarding

Cons: None whatsoever

.

We have 4 cats and 2 of them have been under Dr. Norsworthy's care and staff for 14 1/2 years. I had to take one of my cats recently with kidney disease and she hadn't eaten for days. Within 2 weeks she gained back a pound and 6 ounces which is very unusual for a cat who is 14 1/2 years old with kidney disease . His expertise and knowledge of cat health issues is very impressive and he explains it all in a way that a lay person can understand. His staff and technicians are always very helpful, knowledgeable and caring.

We are three cats who have been to Alamo Feline Health Center over the last 9 years. We love Alamo Feline Health Center because all the people there are friendly and nice to us. While we don't like going to the doctor, Dr. Norsworthy is super knowledgeable about us and is very gentle when he has to treat us. We like his staff because they are very friendly, say nice things to us (like how beautiful we are) and let us play while we are waiting to see Dr. Norsworthy. We think the boarding facility is a pretty nice hotel for cats. We get plenty of space, a nice view (once in a while there is a squirrel in the tree outside our window), whatever food Mom has ordered and lots of love from the kennel attendants. Our Mom likes this place because Dr Norsworthy is so smart. He helped Tosca survive all kinds of old age problems and he is keeping Lohe healthy and happy (and alive) even though he has a bad heart disease. FIVE STARS AND THREE PAWS (from 3 kitties) UP FOR ALAMO FELINE HEALTH CENTER.

When I moved to San Antonio, my vet in Houston recommended Gary D. Norsworthy at Alamo Feline Health Center based on Dr. Norsworthy??s feline expertise and reputation in the industry. I have never been disappointed in the seven years I have taken my animal companions to Dr. Norsworthy. His medical knowledge has allowed my senior companions to live healthier, longer lives. Dr. Norsworthy and his staff are compassionate and understanding, both of their feline patients and of their humans. My animal companions are my family and I would not trust their care to anyone but Dr. Norsworthy and the staff of Alamo Feline Health Center.

Dr. Norsworthy and his team are the best around. I have regularly boarded my cat (Attila) there for about 7 years and no where else. The staff is very friendly and it is very obvious they have a deep care for animals.

I can actually say that I owe my cats life to Dr. Norsworthy. He underwent a major operation several years ago and though it was very traumatic for me, his team was wonderful. Personal phone calls with updates on how he was doing and accommodating my drop by visitations... there was a personal touch that really made the difference in a very difficult situation.

Things are great now... All healthy, happy, and no problems. And it's all because of the great team at Alamo Feline. I would go nowhere else.

All I can say is thank you very much.

Dr. Norsworthy and his staff have tended to our numerous cats since before Alamo Feline Health Center even existed. He is so knowledgeable about his clients that we followed him when he moved/opened this new practice. His amazing knowledge base has afforded our cats longer lives with a better state of health. He and his staff are top notch and you couldn't pay me to take our pride of felines anywhere else. He's the only place we trust to board our cats when we're out of town since several are on medications and special foods.

Dr. Norsworthy treats those wonderful felines regardless of whether they purr while being examined! His staff is not afraid of a hiss or growl and provides the best care for the cat. They also take time to listen to the owners. I have boarded two of my four cats at their facility and toured the kennels and they are top notch. Dr. Norsworthy loves cats and my litter loves him!

Dr. Norsworthy has cared for our succession of cats for at least 30 years, since long before the Alamo Feline Health Center opened. In all that time, he has provided exceptional care for them, sick or well. His broad knowledge of feline maladies has saved our cats when they were ill and preserved the health of those that were doing well. He is recognized in his profession as an international authority, a recognition that is well deserved, and with the Center he has been able to offer care focused on cats. The personnel are knowledgeable, friendly, and ??cat-oriented??, and are gentle and kind in every respect.
We have referred others to the Center, and in every instance they have been delighted with the care they received. When we have boarded our cats there they have been well cared for, and we have been kept well informed of their condition and able to visit them at any time. A kitten we adopted from the Center eight years ago has recently had a serious problem, and his life has been saved by Dr. Norsworthy??s expertise. In brief, we believe that the Center offers the BEST feline care in San Antonio, and quite possibly the best anywhere.

We were blessed to be recommended to Dr. Norsworthy after our cat,Bandit, had been misdiagnosed by another veterinarian with FIP virus, which he should have died from. When we came to Alamo Feline, Dr. Norsworthy and staff were very concerned for Bandit. after tests and a biopsy, while on a speaking engagement in Hawii, Dr. Norsworthy called us at 10:00p.m. with the diagnosis and to discuss options., Bandit had small cell lymphoma. I call that caring and dedication for my pet. With prayer and Dr. Norsworthy giving six chemo treatments and care to Bandit, he went from 6.4lbs to almost 10lbs.Bandit is healed, happy, and living a full life. All thanks to the Lord, Dr. Norsworthy, and staff. I have and would recommend anyone to Alamo Feline. As for cost, you can't put a price on life, be it human or animal.

As the owner of 6 cats with multiple medical issues, this totally feline facility has provided my furry family with the absolute best care possible. Dr Norsworthy and his team are the highly trained and compassionate caregivers that keep my special companions healthy and happy. Having experienced both raising newborn kittens with bottlefeeding and helping numerous older (15+ years) cats make a graceful and comfortable exit from this life, Alamo Feline has always been there to help with their care. No matter what the situation, his team always follows up to check on their "patients" to make sure that everything is going well and to see if there are any questions. I would be happy to provide anyone with a personal recommendation for this Feline Health Center. Alamo Feline Health Center is without question the best care available in the San Antonio and surrounding area for your cats.

My husband and I have taken our cats to Dr. Norsworthy since 1994 and we cannot say enough great things about the care that has been provided over the years. Two of our cats lived to be 19 years old and we totally attribute that to his knowledge and the treatment provided to them. His staff, to include front line staff and exceptional technicians keeps us coming back! It's the best feline health care in San Antonio!!

Pros: Great Customer Service & Thorough Health Care for Cats

.

Dr. Norsworthy has taken care of my cats since 1981. Examples of the excellent care he has always provided are too numerous to list in their entirety. With various cats, we have been through tumor surgery, heart problems, kidney failure, liver disease, gall bladder trouble, a life threatening herpes infection and a host of less serious illnesses. Dr. Norsworthy??s diagnostic skills are phenomenal. He combines the art and science of veterinary medicine using the latest technology, keen observation, careful history taking, methodical exploration of possibilities and plain common sense. One of my cats lived to be 21 years old and another 19. Both enjoyed additional years because of Dr. Norsworthy??s diagnostic and treatment skills. Plus, he truly loves cats and it shows.

From Dr. Norsworthy??s unassuming manner, you would never suspect that he is a nationally renowned feline specialist and has written a definitive textbook on feline medicine. He likes to teach and has trained veterinarians from all over the world. He has a great ??bedside manner? and communication skills which enable him to teach cat owners how to manage their cats?? illnesses at home.

When one of my older cats died in her sleep and again when another had to be euthanized, Dr. Norsworthy and his staff were wonderful. I could not have asked for more caring, compassionate and understanding people.

The staff is helpful, returns calls promptly, issues reminders and follows through with whatever is requested of them. The dcor and ambiance of the clinic are great--cat themed exam rooms, dark wood furniture, cheerful colors, etc.

I recommend Alamo Feline Health Center without reservation.

I have been a customer of Alamo Feline Health Center since 1999. A friend referred me there, and I am forever grateful for that.

Dr. Norsworthy and his staff are an accomodating, caring, courteous and professional group of people who are committed to providing good quality health care to their patient population. They provide a "continum (sp?) of care" for your cat (s) ----from the kitten stage through their little elderly years..... I can't imagine going to another clinic for my cats.

I have taken my cats to Alamo Feline Health Center for many years. Dr. Norsworthy and his entire staff are the most caring and understanding. He treated my first cat MC who was 12 who had kidney failure and kept him alive until there was nothing else to do. He was willing to continue treating him but I knew there was nothing else that could be done. Ashley, who is 18 years, was diagnosed with heart trouble about 4 years ago, and by some miracle of Dr. Norsworthy, she no longer has it. I also have 2 other cats, Thumper and CB, who also are under his care. I would not take my cats anywhere else!!! Dr. Norsworthy and entire staff are the most wonderful group of people you could ever have as your veterinary!!!!

Enjoy knowing my cats' anxiety is lessened without having dogs around. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for and is competitive with others I've used. Ask questions and negotiate for what you want. They work with you. Love having EKG as part of routine physical. Might have saved the life of my first cat had I know about AFH - which is one reason I switched to Dr. Norsworthy, DVM. Can't get much better than having him recommended by a Vet Tech working at a different veterinary center. Desk staff has always been respectful and friendly. Love the call back to see how the animal(s) do after shots, etc. Techs seem to "care" about the animals they handle and my cats respond well. Recent experience with Dr. Anderson was reassuring and he has gained my trust to give me only what my cat(s) need. That's saying a lot in these tough economic times. Kudos all around ya'll.

Dr. Norsworthy takes care of all of our personal cats. Because I have been in cat rescue for more years than I would like to count, I have had direct dealings with many of the veterinarians in San Antonio. Alamo Feline Health Center is BY FAR the best I've ever encountered. I literally have a copy of THE FELINE PATIENT that I keep in my bedside table and consult on any topic cat-related. Its worn and discolored pages are testimony to what I think about Dr. Norsworthy's expertise because I consult it often. The staff at Alamo Feline Health Center have always been compassionate, engaged, knowledgable and pleasant to me. I trust Dr. Norsworthy with my feline family members!

I love the cats only office - my kitties are much more comfortable without dogs barking at them! And since they care for cats only, they offer specialized and state of the art care - and have the most up-to-date equipment to diagnose and care for your kitty. I came to Dr. Norsworthy from another vet who had missed a diagnosis of heart disease in one of my kitties! He has consistently diagnosed and treated many difficult illnesses in my kitties (I have a lot of them!) and has always discussed the options, treatments and costs and helped me make the best decisions for me and my kitties. If you are serious about the best health care for your kitties this is the place to go!

My cat, Yvette (17 years old) needed a special thyroid treatment that required a 4 day and night stay at Dr. Norsworthy's facility. I was able to call every morning and late afternoon and consult with the technician caring for my cat. I frequently spoke with Stephanie who was so nice (and patient) to me and I was reassured daily that Yvette was doing well and eating normally. Yvette is home now and is her usual demanding and loveable self and I feel I made the right decision to go forth with this treatment. I have tremendous confidence in Dr Norsworthy and the people working with him. While Yvette receives excellent care, I receive a lot of consideration and believe they all sincerly care for my pet.

The doctors are knowledgeable and have always treated my feline children with loving care. I have never had a problem getting an appointment during an emergency. The front desk always calls me with a smile to follow up and remind me about vaccinations and updates. Norsworthy is known as the best Cat Doctor for a reason :)

Pros: Feline only and the best feline expert in the US

Cons: Trying to get Muguma Taishi in his cat crate

We have used Alamo Feline Health Ctr since we moved our 3 cats here 8 years ago. One of the cats had Megacolon and Dr. Norsworthy knew what to do and how to handle him. Our cats are part of our family and we appreciate the way the whole staff treats them---and us. When it came time to put the cat with Megacolon to sleep, Dr. Norsworthy was so kind, gentle and comforting. They continue to care for our other two cats, who are now 17 years old, and, of course, developing health problems. We wouldn't take them to any other doctors. All the staff talk to our babies and love on them and treat them like we do, and they care how they are. They even call to check on them a few days after a treatment or vaccination. We think the people at Alamo Feline Health Center are special.

I have been taking my kitties to the Alamo Feline Health Center for years and wouldn't take them anywhere else even when I moved and it wasn't so convenient any more. Dr. Norsworthy and his staff love cats and show it in the way they care for them. One of my kitties has a heart condition which was spotted very early by Dr. Norsworthy--I'm convinced I wouldn't have her if it wasn't for his care! I recommend his practice whenever I can.

I began going to Dr. Norsworthy soon after he opened his "cats only" clinic. I began going because my cat was misdiagnosed by another vet. Dr. Norsworthy's correct diagnosis gave me another year with my beloved Silk. I now have 7 stray cats, and although Alamo Feline is expensive, it is certainly less expensive than treating an incorrect diagnosis from another vet! Dr. N. literally wrote the textbook for vets on feline care and lectures on cats at vet conferences all over the world. Other vets and vet students from all over come to study with him. He is simply the best.

We have lived in several places and used many vets. After some bad experiences with general vets, we have gone out of our way to find cat specialists. Dr. Norsworthy came highly recommended and he has demonstrated his superior talents on our cats several times. We will not see anyone else!

Alamo Feline Health Center has given my 5 cats, without exception, the best veterinary care of any place I have ever taken them - and we have lived in several states and been to other feline practices. Dr. Norsworthy has gone above and beyond in his care of my cats and two of my cats are alive today because of his expertise. I am so very grateful to him and highly recommend him to anyone with cats. My cats are members of our family and deserve the best of care - and Dr. Norsworthy provides just that! Thanks!

Thanks to Dr. Norsworthy I still have four of my beautiful kitties alive and well. My oldest is 20 years old with advanced kidney failure. Dr. Norsworthy has given her treatment that has kept her comfortable for more than a year. He removed the colon from another of my cats (aged 14). Without the surgery she would have died painfully in a short time, but today you would never know she'd ever been sick. A third had severe liver problems, which he got her through with good health. At the present he is treating my most precious baby for lymphoma of the larynx. Without his care, I know he wouldn't survive very long. I don't know what I would do without this wonderful vet and his entire staff, which are just great. Last year I spent several months in San Angelo and used the services of two different vets there. They both know Dr. Northsworthy (one had been his classmate at A&M) and highly respect him. One of them referred to him as the best cat vet in all of the US. That's pretty high praise from a peer! If you think of your cat as a member of your family and want the best care there is for them, this is the only place to go.

The doctors and technicians at Alamo Feline Health Center exhibit their love for cats and treat both their owners and pets as family. I have been using this clinic for over 15 years and have never been disappointed by the doctors diagnosis or treatment of my five cats. When I have had occasion to board my cats while on vacation, they appeared to be happy and definitely healthy when I came to take them home. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone with a cat.

When I moved here from New York, my Vet in NY HIGHLY recommended Dr. Nosworthy. She said I was so lucky to be near such an accomplished Vet. And she was right!
I have been with Alamo Feline Health Center since 1998 and my four cats have had EXCELLENT care.

Other vets do not have the expertise or updated procedures of Dr. Nosworthy (which can actually save time & money in the long run). IF YOU HAVE A CAT THAT YOU CARE ABOUT, ALAMO FELINE IS THE PLACE. There is a difference as you will experience.
We, in San Antonio, are VERY lucky to have Dr. Nosworthy.

I am in the Health Field and excellent patient care is hard to find for humans, but animal care at Alamo Feline excels anything I have seen.

We started using Acres North Animal HSP on referral from a close friend. When Dr. Norsworthy moved across the street to open Alamo Feline we moved with him. We have lived in San Antonio twelve years and Dr. Norsworthy is the only Vet we use for our cats. We even adopted one of our babies from them. The team there has been wonderful. We have boarded our guy's with them a number of times and never had a problem. The first time we had to leave one there for heath issues we were not only allowed to see where he was kept but encouraged to vist to help him cope and recover faster. When we moved to the far southside we considered changing health care providers, but uncomfortable in changing since they knew the staff there so well.We didn't want to stress our babies out. We now live about 40 miles from the clinic but feel the quality of care is worth the drive. Yes you can find less expensive care but you will get what you pay for. Dr. Norsworthy took a special interest in one of our cats that had a rare lung disease. We spent a lot of money to save this guy and asked Dr. N. if it was worth the cost and effort to save him. Dr. N told the hard truth all we could do was try or put him down. We decided to try and our miricle boy is still with us and doing just fine. Thanks for being there for us and our babies. I would recommend this clinic to all.

Pros: bestcare and followup ever

Cons: none, unless you count the drive from where we live

Family moved from the northeast and was looking for a totally "feline" health center. I have found the entire staff to be exceedingly friendly and professional from the very beginning.. Our cat was housed for the first few days after the move...she received the food that we brought and we were even allowed to visit. I have never had a problem scheduling her visits and they are quick to notice when she needs and "update" or more dietary food. I highly recommend this staff

I entrust the care of all my "kitty babies" to Dr. Norsworthy and his staff because I have found the medical care and boarding facilites to be premiere. He and his staff have been kind, compassionate, and caring during times of distress and loss of two of my aged and beloved pets. The care and follow up for my current five cats is outstanding and state of the art. I am in the healthcare field and have observed that Dr. Norsworthy holds his practice parallel to meet the same high standards for care delivery to his feline patients as would be expected for human patients. He is absolutely the best!

6 reasons to go to Alamo Feline Health Center (AFHC):

1. Dr. Gary Norsworthy is the top of the line, #1 cat specialist in veterinary medicine. He has helped my sisters 16 year old cat to live with kidney failure while continuing to be the princess she is.

2. Dr. Norsworthy cares for your cat almost as much as you do. He not only gave my new little "girl" necessary care, but he even held and petted her to comfort her when she was shaking from fear. (He is also a cat owner!) The compassion shown to me and my cats (I have 2) is beyond compare. My special needs kitty is treated with excellent care even at great sacrifice to himself and his staff. (He is a little agressive:~).

3. The staff at AFHC has NEVER failed to greet my husband, myself and my animals with a smile and words of GREAT comfort when needed.

4. His assistants are trained to deal with all kinds of cats and it shows!

5. The boarding is CLEAN, the staff is ATTENTIVE and they have even boarded my cats on short notice (a plus!).

and the final reason to take your cat to AFHC?

6. If your cat could talk, he/she would tell you to take them to Alamo Feline Health Center.

In a word...CATABULOUS!

I have taken my cats to Dr. Northsworthy and his team for over 10 years. I live about 30 miles outside of San Antonio but the drive is well worth it. My cats have always received excellent care in the office as well as the boarding facility. One of my cats developed a kidney infection and went into complete renal failure a few years ago. She was almost 18 years old and I loved her dearly. Dr. Norsworthy and his excellent staff saved her life then and gave me 7 more months with my sweet girl and I will be forever grateful for that additional time with her. I highly recommend this clinic to all cat owners.

This clinic was recommended to us by our vet in Indiana because he knew of Dr. Norsworthy's reputation as an expert in feline care. Our 6 cats have been taken care of by Dr. Norsworthy since we moved to San Antonio 2 years ago, and we couldn't be more pleased. The clinic is not exactly in our neighborhood, but the time it takes to get there is well worth it because of the care our cats receive. Dr. Norsworthy is very thorough and always takes time to answer all of our questions. His staff is friendly, courteous, and efficient. We have complete trust in Dr. Norsworthy's judgement and skill and feel very comfortable at this clinic.

Just had my precious 3 year old cat in for major surgery to remove one of her back legs. An enormous tumor had developed over the last two-three months making removal of her leg urgent to prevent the spread of the cancer. Dr. Norsworthy did the surgery two days after diagnosis and she came home the following day and was running around on her three good legs 3 days later. Her recovery has been amazing and I know that this is largely due to the excellent work by Dr. Norsworthy and his team. Thank you for saving my companion!

I don't know what tinker2104tinker is talking about. I HAVE just popped in on my kitty during boarding when I returned home early from a trip. You can tell they really love cats.

Boarded my cat in "luxury suite" "with a view" for $30/night. Came back from 5 day trip and out of 6 cans of food I took, they returned 5. Out of sandwich bag of dry food, over half was returned. They nearly starved my cat!!!! Picked up at 10:30 a.m. and cat STILL WAS NOT FED FOR THAT MORNING!! Instructions were to give him 1 can of food every morning. Whether he eats it or not, you give another can the next morning. Duh!!Would have been interesting to just pop in to pick up cat and insist on seeing where he was. With this lack of care, I wonder if he REALLY was in a large luxury kennel with a view.....

Alamo Feline is not only the best practice in San Antonio for Cats, They have the best staff. Caring, Compasionate and every second willing to help. I truly appreciate them, from the second you walk in the door you are greated by a friendly front desk that after just a few visits know you by name. The technicians that come into the room before the doctor are always caring and listen to your kitties special issues. The doctors (both of them) are fabulous and do everything they can to make sure that your kitties specific needs are met. From the doctor's willingness to help keep you informed about your kitty when hospitalized, to the updates on the bill they make sure every question I had was answered promtly. This is the place to go! Your cat will love you for it!
