Our family would like to share our wonderful experiences at Primrose Of Castle Hills with all potential family's out there looking for top notch accredited childcare. Not only does Primrose of Castle Hills have amazing teachers, assistants and understanding staff, they truly care about your individual child and family. Our son attended Primrose of Castle Hills from ages 1-6 where he just graduated from Kindergarten. I can not brag enough on his Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Whitt, assistant teacher Ms. Nugyen and their assistants. We are so proud of our son's academic accomplishment and how prepared he is entering the 1st grade because of the wonderful foundation Primrose of Castle Hills has given him. We have enjoyed being at Primrose of Castle Hills so much so that we now have our younger child age 2 attending as well. As a parent you always want to ensure you are making the right decisions for your children. Our family knows we made the best choice when selecting Primrose of Castle Hills for our children.

Best,
Christine M.

We have attended Primrose Castle Hills for 2.5 years. I have been extremely impressed with the Director and Assistant Directors. They are aware of what is going on within the building as well as with each and every child. The communication has been great and I would recommend Primrose Castle Hills to friends and family. I realize the cost may be higher than others, but it is worth it to know your child is safe.

Both of our children attend Primrose School of Castle Hills and we love it here. We enrolled our son when he was 3 months old. He is now 27 months old and thriving. He gets complimented all the time about how advanced he is for his age. He loves the teachers and administrators at Primrose as well. Everyone is very personable. He is excited to go to school every day. When our daughter was born, it was a no brainer. We enrolled her when she was 3 months old as well. She is now 9 months old is also thriving at Primrose. We have been extremely satisfied with the care our children receive as well as the curriculum provided.

My 3 kids all attended Primrose of Castle Hills from birth to graduation. We have been with this school for a total of 10 years combined and have experienced no problems at all. The Staff is top notch and they hire exceptional people to take care of children. Our kids have grown to love their friends and teachers and they stay in touch even after graduation. They create a genuine family friendly environment for kids to grow within.

Despite the only negative review, we have had a wonderful experience. We looked at several daycares for infants throughout the DFW area and kept coming back to Primrose Castle Hills. We are very glad that we chose them. Their staff even sent flowers to my wife on our child's first day because it was very difficult for her to leave him after being on maternity leave. They are always loving, caring and genuinely tender towards the children and parents. They send daily updates and messages about our child's day. They are a wonderful, hard-working staff. We have experienced several negative day cares in the past with our older child and were very selective. This is no way feels like the "bottom line." You do pay more than most private daycare facilities, but a parent will truly feel comfortable and reassured when leaving his/her child in their care during the day. We are very happy with the care in their infant room and highly recommend this for other families seeking quality child care.

I am not at all sure where the negative reviews come from (unless it is due to the recent opening of other pre-schools) - my son is thriving at Primrose. He is above average in every aspect and this is due, at least in part, to Primrose. In my experience the teachers are very caring and take great care of the students. I would recommend Primrose in a heartbeat and I am a very picky mom!

We took a chance and visited the school and we did not see/feel any of the negatives comments made previously. In fact, I was told many of the teachers have been there over 4 years. They also had a sign celebrating a teacher who had been there 7 years.I liked the school and what it had to offer. We signed up.

What a joke! I pulled my child, now almost 3 after a year of being there and it was very saddening to leave after all this time, but even more saddening to really see how the place is run, and just like someone else mentioned in their review~the owner/admin. are all about profit, not care. When you do leave, for whatever reason, suddenly they become very rude~after a year of being 'soclose' with these people who made my family think they really care. You REALLY are JUST ANOTHER DOLLAR SIGN to them. The owners have to pay for their mansion in a gated community somehow, while teachers work harder doing this than any other job I've ever seen, and scrape by for barely above minimum wage. After dropping my child off late, I was walking down the hall towards the office when I overheard the owner's wife joking with the director and asst. director saying, "Who would name their child, Betty anyways?" My jaw dropped to the floor and then they all put their fake smiles on and cheerfully told me to "Have a great day! upon my leaving" Talk about being two-faced and feeling a knife stabbing through my heart. If I hadn't heard it with my own two ears, I would have never believed it and that was the straw that broke the camel's back.Yes the tours are phenomenal and paint this beautiful, serene picture of a perfect school with an abundant, friendly, knowledgeable staff with constant curriculum being taught...a MEMBER OF MGMT. informs AT LEAST the teachers in the class of the age of the child who's touring and that's why they only go physically into that class. Strange how it's perfect then and the teachers are teaching to kids who are all sitting quietly isn't it??? Then you pick them up and it's 18 kids with 2 teachers and all the kids are running amuck with snotty noses and complete chaos. I would get a nanny if I expected direct attention all the time, but this is absolutely ridiculous! Instead of "franchise opportunity" as another reviewer said, they do need to focus on good quality, intelligent teachers and to pay them what they're worth. One teacher told me that there's even a girl working there without a high school diploma...I thought that was against their own rules!!! In the year, the school lost so many good teachers and have replaced them with kids that just graduated high school who constantly text their friends instead of doing the job they were hired to do. I can't tell you how many times I walked in to see these two teachers messing with their phones (at least they weren't sitting there talking!) and then when I walk in, put them back in their pockets like they never had them and then tell you that your child's day was "good" after they spent 8 hours with your child. This place went downhill fast, even after raising our rates yet AGAIN!!

This school was a big disappointment. We pulled our child out after less than a month. The classes are overcrowded and understaffed (just barely meeting state mandated ratios), and children don't get individual attention. The management is all about marketing and luring people into enrolling their kids, and not at all about taking care of them once they are there. Bad news!

It's amazing to me to see such flakiness and I'm speaking about the "management team" that they care so much about the kids. well i must say..that is a lie! I have witnessed with my very own ears that when a child leaves for whatever reason...the director & management say..."oh well we have more kids on the waiting list". that makes me very mad, even angry. we care for those kids and see them more than their parents. And to have the director to make such comments, its very heart breaking. As far as Mr. Chow, he is a very cheap man & only thinks about himself. Instead of paying his hard working employees, he'd rather let them go. No wonder you have a revolving door! Maybe you should stop being such a tight butt and pay your employees. Then, you wouldn't have teachers leaving. This school sucks big time!

I normally don't write any reviews for anything, but I felt like I had to comment on my child's preschool- Primrose of Castle Hills. I have a 2 year old and she is in the early preschool class. Being a ratio and care fanatic, I KNOW the ratio in that classroom is 8 to 1. And given the difficulty that children of that age can be sometimes, I have even seen three teachers in that classroom of 16. I am not sure what "anonymous" is talking about. But I felt compelled to write something since it simply is not true. We love Primrose!

I recently took my child out of Primrose of Castle Hills after 2 years of trying extremely hard to fall in love with this school. The quality of teachers for the younger kiddos is horrible. My child has probably had close to 15 teachers. They can't hire and keep quality staff. I believe this school is run as nothing more than a franchise opportunity. Their ratio of teachers/kids just barely meets the states requirements. 18 kids with 2 teachers is NOT enough. There is no way anyone can tell me they have the time to spend nuturing and developing my child with a ratio like that. The couldn't even find time to wipe my child's nose! Fortunately, word of mouth led me to Parker Chase. My child refuses to come home; whereas a Primrose he was out the door the second he saw me. There are 10 kids in his class with 2 teachers that have all been there over 5 years!!! I strongly encourage anyone to quiz the Primrose directors about the education/quality/tenure of their teaching staff. Best of luck!

Very impressed. We are on the wait list for our 3 year old. Hopefully we will be able to get in soon. Seems this is the school all the children in Castle Hills goes to.

Looking forward to have my son meet other friends he will eventually go to school with.

then take your kids to castle hills primrose!!!

i've been a teacher for over 30 years and have never been a fan of the concept of "day cares". so when my daughter decided to enroll her son to the primrose in castle hills, i was in shock! to ease my mind, she insisted i visit the school to meet my grandson's teachers.

to my (good) surprise, castle hills was phemonenal! the educational material they prepared for my grandson's class should have been for children much older than him.... but it didn't matter, he was able to grasp it due to the high caliber of teachers! i will have to say that the quality is first rate.

i know my grandson is in good hands. i no longer have to worry about the quality of education he's receiving from his after school program. therefore, i highly recommend the primrose school of castle hills.

If good preschools matters to you, this is the place to enroll your child. I love the welcoming feeling of the place. It is not medical or office-like at all. Some places are just too sterile with video screens and smocks.

I also like the fact that all the children are in an age appropriate classroom. My little Emily (20 months) doesn't have to worry about a 3 year old picking on her.

As a first time mom, I was very concerned about leaving my child with someone else. As soon, I was walked in I felt at ease. I was greeted immediately with a friendly face and my unannounced tour went splendidly.

They had a waitlist, but said that if I signed up that day I would be the first off the waiting list. To my surprise, someone moved out of town the following week and they had a spot for me!

It has been 4 weeks since we started and it was a great decision.

I can not begin to tell you how much my wife and I love Primrose Castle Hills. When we had our son in Feb of 2010 we visited 5 schools before Primrose. From the moment we set foot in the door everything just felt perfect. Every teacher

If you are looking for child care below the age of 3, I would keep looking. Primrose of Castle Hills does not begin to shine until the preschool classes and up. One of the infant teachers is very sweet, but some of them should have been fired a long time ago. Speaking with other parents, I have learned that not all the infant teachers really care about the children, and that is quite alarming. The cost of this center is astronomical, and it continues to increase. Not only do you pay a pretty penny for the tuition itself, they slam you for registration and supply fees three times a year, all of which are usually above 100 dollars. I will admit that they have some nice amenities and that some of the programs they have throughout the year are nice, but when it comes down to it, you will have to decide if it is all worth it in the end. The director Mrs. Braun is absolutely amazing. Never in all my years of dealing with preschool management have a come across a more competent director. She is very genuine and helpful and I can really tell she cares about the children. However, Mrs. Mccarrel is as fake as they come. She is unhelpful, rude, and talks to all the parents as if they have some sort of mental defect. I'm sorry, but most of the parents are professionals and deserve so much more respect. The woman is just self absorbed and it sends a negative vibe throughout the center. I have even witnessed her treating her employees in the same manner, and that is just bad management. I personally would not want my child around someone so negative. Only you can decide what is fact or fiction when touring this Primrose. If it appeals to you, by all means enroll your child, but just be cautious.

I had my child at Kids R Kids and we went back to Primrose just for the fact that the Primrose center is working on getting back to par. Kids R Kids focuses on money and not their teachers, the children or the parents. When a center will not call the parents when a child is really sick or dis- enroll a child when they continue to do something over and over (all because they do not want to lose the money) that just showed me that my child and I were not really cared for like Kids R Kids told us.
We were promised the sun moon and stars by the director Mona and the owners - Gary and Angel, but what we got was lies and the owners and director doing their own thing. My child is more than a money figure - their needs were not being met by the school, teacher or center.
I am glad my child and I are back at Primrose, they welcomed us with open arms. I feel for the children, parents and teachers back at Kids R Kids. I regret sending my child there and ever leaving Primrose.

Pros: Getting new teachers and improving center

Cons: Cost a little more but worth it

My son attended Primrose for 5 years, from the infant room to the Explorer room. Tom Chow bought the facility during this time. After the ownership changed the school started to get more crowded, tuition increased, supply fees went from $25-$100 twice a year, registration fees went from $75-$125 twice a year, the food quality diminished, and most of their long term teachers and directors quit. I have hired several current employees of Primrose asbabysitters and have heard how terribly they treat their teachers as well. I just dont understand how they can treat people like that and stay in business. My son is at Kids R Kids now and I am saving an estimated $2000 per year and get the updated facility, flexible owners, and supportive staff. Unlike Primrose, I truly feel that Kids R Kids puts people over profits and supports the community that supports them.

Pros: Location is convienient to Castle Hills residents

Cons: Your $ is more important than your child.

We've been very disappointed with this school. The child to teacher ratios in my daughter's class were terrible - just barely enough to meet state requirements some days. With 18 toddlers in a class and only two teachers, it is often pandemonium, and none of the children get enough individual attention. For the fees that they charge, they should be able to staff adequately, but they are very stingy with the staffing. It's not a well-run school, in my opinion. We have pulled our child out.

Also, please take note that there appears to be an online "marketing campaign" for this school. There are many overly enthusiastic reviews for this school on multiple websites (like the two preceding mine) that don't ring true. I think they're being posted by the owners or employees of this school. No other school has this many reviews on multiple websites.

Parents, please don't rely on these reviews, or the marketing you get from the management when choosing a school. Pay close attention to what really goes on in your child's class every day.

Our first week here has been excellent. We just moved from Virginia into Castle Hills with our two little ones and have been very pleased with everything at this school. It seems parent involvement is high which is always a good sign of a good school. I would highly recommend.

Having read the reviews posted here, my husband and I completely agree that Primrose is a great school. Parent involvement is high and it feels like an extended family. Ratios are very important and Primrose is well below the state mandated ratios. Our current teachers have been there over 6 years and our kids are learning. Highly recommended.

My daughter spent 2 years here and every month, it got worse. It become very clear that this is run with more of an attention to profit at the sacrafice to the children. The teacher/child ratio is the worst. I picked my child up countless times with snot covering her face and a diaper rash. With 18 kids and 2 teachers, it is no wonder they didn't have time to pay attention to these sort of things. Teachers drop like flies here and it seems now that they can't even find quality teachers. This was not a nuturing enviornment and it sealed the deal when I picked up my child 2 days after having tubes put in her ears and her teacher had left her sobbing by herself in the corner simply b/c she wanted to take the eyeballs off of her OWN art work. I seriously question the training and quality of their staff. The lack of tenure of their teachers says it all.

Fantastic school!!! I cannot say enough good things about it. The learning that happens there is amazing! I wish we had started our daughter there early than 3. She was in an inhome daycare. I kept her there too long because that was what I was comfortable with. I am not making the same mistake with my new baby!

Highly recommended!

For a school that is 6 years old with over a hundred children there attending daily, it is amazing how clean the place is! For me, that shows the care the owners and staff take in their job. It is a great place. We are very happy.

We have really enjoyed our time at the school. They are a head above everyone else in the area. Trust us, we visited them all!

We had a nanny that we loved, but really thought Cooper needed more social interaction. This place is great! Never thought we would receive the "personal" care in a center based facility.

Highly recommend!

Excellent school. Very impressive curriculum. Checked out a number of places and if you do the research, nothing really compares.

We signed up our two daughters at Primrose of Castle Hills. They are 2 and 5. They really enjoy the teachers and seeing their friends everyday. My 2 year old is potty training and is coming along splendidly. High recommended!
