International Baccalaureate World School offering IB Diploma (24 college credit hours), IB Career-Related Certificate plus 22 AP and 8 dual credit college classes. Recently moved up on The Washington Post list of to top American high schools, beating most suburban schools in North Texas. Has been reorganized into four college prep academies: Science, Technologly, Engineering and Math (STEM); Business, Finance and Entrepreneurship; Performing Arts and IB Academy. Undergoing a $14 million renovation with a 40,000 square foot science and performing arts addition opening in fall 2012.

As a world school there are many exchange students and VIP visitors. This year there was a conference sponsored by the US State Department of 17 dignitaries from North Africa and the Near East. Seven Broadway stars and the composers of "Les Miserables" and "Miss Saigon" worked with the students to appear in "Do You Hear the People Sing" at the American Airlines Center. A JFK assassination play sponsored by The Dallas Children's Theater and The Sixth Floor Museum premiered at Woodrow, bringing important national presidential historians and reps from The Smithsonian and Library of Congress.

IB students traveled to Costa Rica, China and Spain this year. Next spring they will go to London and Paris.

This school also places among the top ten in North Texas in athletics with six district titles and nine teams deep into the playoffs in 2011-12.

Woodrow is famous for its musical productions (55 years) and its spirit, tradition, prominent alumni and parental invovlement. It's really much like a small town high school in the big city.

i went to this high school for a couple of years and although i felt it was a little fast paced, it was overall a good school.. the teachers do try their hardest to keep the students involved and motivated

my friend's daughter was headed in the wrong direction. but going to this high school gave her a different outlook . she proceeded to go to college and become successful and we all credit this school because of the teacher's dedication and because of all of the programs they have available for the students to succeed
