Just wanted to say that my girls went to school at St. Louis for 3 1/2 years. I pulled them out in January and sent them to public school near my home. I really owe a thank you to the principal for not communicating with the parents and running St. Louis School like she was dictator without regard for parent concerns. And the priest, too, deserves thanks for actually telling the parents, last August, that if we didn't like what the new principal was doing, he would be "HAPPY" to tell us another school to go to. After taking his advice, my children are happy and learning MUCH more than they ever did at St. Louis. (Example: My 2nd grader does multiplication and learned to do a powerpoint presentation as part of her reports she did weekly. Her friend, who remained at St. Louis, were only doing addition and subtraction and for computers? They learn keyboard skills.) You think when you pay for a private school that you would get a better education? Well, this is NOT so at St. Louis. Unfortunately, many families have learned this, as we did, this past year. As for religious education? Well, you can get that through a religious ed program at ANY parish. Be sure to do your homework and REALLY look at what the children are learning at any school you consider.

My daughter has gone to the school for 5 years and I have seen the old principle and the new one. I personally didn't care for the old principle one on one. I have spoken to the new principle a few times and I have emailed her. She has always responded promptly and with a sincere response. I personally love the changes. We were thrown off by school starting off earlier; they start at 7:45 instead of 8:00 but that gives more time for the kids to get situated and I have been able to get to work early. The drop off time was moved to as early as 7:15. They get free dress days which has never happened in St. Louis history. I went to school there too, many years ago and the kids love it; it is a reward and I applaud the new principle and it is always hard adjusting. I recommend this school; the curriculum is hard and they learn self-discipline. They learn about respect, stewardship, and God. Please visit the school see it for yourself.

The school was great with lots of parental involvement until this year. A new principal came in with lots of changes (not all bad) but she has a problem communicating with parents. She is unapproachable and rude. The priest here backs her 100% and has told the parents in a Back To School Night talk that if we don't agree we can leave. How is that for welcoming?

I recommend this school if and when we get another principal.

I've been to a lot of churches around town and I love the mass and the pastor at this church. Everyone is friendly and the sermons are great. I feel more at home at this church than I do at some other churches.
