Truluck's is a fantastic location if you are seeking seafood, steak, or a great happy hour. They offer a large selection of wines including wine flights and a variety of after dinner drinks as well. They also feature sustainable Prime Niman Ranch steaks, and continuously update their seafood selections. The service is always phenomenal. I'm ready for the Florida stone crab season to return this October to enjoy the all you can eat promotion on Mondays!
Have been to both locations in Austin and the food is exceptional. Service is superb and Trulucks does not rip off their customers by using low quality seafood and small portions. Management is the best I have seen in the Austin area. Trulucks is the only place I go to for great seafood.
Pros: Superior auality seafood, large portions, great service
Cons: Not enough of them in Austin
I was so impressed with my dinner at Truluck's last Friday. I reserved online and they really listened when I said I wanted a cozy but not isolated table. I couldn't have picked a better table myself. The staff had to be the most courteous and professional that I've encountered in Austin and the food was great from beginning to end. We started our dinner at the cozy piano bar with just enough buzz around us to be lively but not loud or overwhelming. Although we had reservations for 8:30 the hostess let us take our time and held our table. This is the perfect place for a date night or to go with a group of friends. Oh.... did I mention the stone crab? FABULOUS!! The surprise birthday cake they presented my husband with was heavenly. With all the great restaurants Austin I think I've found my favorite. Thanks Truluck's for a perfect evening.
Pros: Wonderful dining experience
Maybe Truluck's has turned elitist. Ive been there many times before and always been impressed by the good food and service. This time, same great food but awful service. The waiter was rude the entire dinner, walking off as we were still talking, we had to flag him down to order more drinks and he brought the check WITH the dessert course, before we had started eating, before we had asked for it-- not being at all subtle that he wanted us to leave. The restaurant was not at all busy, there were not even people in the bar area, so it didnt appear that there was a wait for tables. Not that that's an excuse for such rude behavior. When my husband told the waiter why he only tipped 10%, explaining that the waiter gave us awful service, the waiter never apologized, never asked what was wrong, never tried to correct it-- he just said oh, yeah, sure, whatever, have a good night, walking off as he said it. If you are looking to have a nice night out, don't go here. If you like being insulted by your waiter, there's a table waiting.
Pros: Food is amazing
Cons: Service was rude
Perfect service, great food, wine list is deep. Eat in the dining room or at the bar, same great experience. It is pricey though but you get what you pay for.
I've been several times and found the food outstanding and the service excellent as well. Kind of old school restaurant with a great seafod selection that is very modern. We loved the lobster and the crabcakes among ofther dishes.
Despite my mothers attempts to flip out (she crazy) while enjoying a meal there the wait staff did an awesome job of attending our needs and keeping their distance when couckoo was raising her voice. Needless to say I slipped an extra 10% to the already 20% tip to thank them for their patience!
Excellent food and service, hard to beat.
My bride-to-be and I had our rehearsal dinner at Truluck's. The food and service were so spectacular, we went back to celebrate our first anniversary. To our amazement, the second evening at Truluck's was even more magical than the first. The stone crab was simply amazing, the entrees inspired and perfectly cooked, and the wine impeccable. The cherry on top was the service. The hostess, the server and the manager all made us feel like the most important people in the room. We will return to Truluck's every chance we get--anniversaries included.
Pros: Freshness, Service, Atmosphere
Truluck's is by far one of the best restaurants in Austin. The food is consistently great and the staff is always helpful and kind. I would recommend Trulucks to anyone seeking a great meal and a good time.
Pros: Excellent food, staff
Had a fabulous experience from the time we walked in the door. Our waitress, Erika W, was awesome! She assisted with selection of champagne and wine (based on what we usually drink), was very curtious, attentive, helpful, and fun. The food was delicious (crab, lobster and a filet - all were wonderful - in addition to a seafood "appetizer" tower of crab claws, lobster and oysters). The crab and lobster were the best I've had - just melted in my mouth. I've eaten at many higher priced restaurants and this experience surpassed all but one. Loved it!!! I/We will be back!
We had eaten there in the past and enjoyed the meals. However this night was a surprise. I found that it had changed to an elitist club - I took my wife there to enjoy a meal and was told that we could only eat in the bar or wait 2 hours. The restuarant was over half empty but they didn't want to server us in the main room. The couple who had come out the door as we were going in warned us that we didn't want to eat there. If you are looking for a comfortable place to enjoy a fine meal with friendly people. This isn't the place. With the change in atitude, we will not come back. There are far too many better places in town at this price range.
Cons: Attitude Issues
I went there with my family and the experience was perfect from start to finish. the server was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. We felt very taken care of. We will be returning and thanks for the great experience!
Pros: knowledgeable server, friendly, welcoming, delicious food
Cons: got none to speak of in my experience
Our anticipation far exceeded the experience. Extremely loud music, totally inappropriate for dining made it dificult to hear our server, who was excellent, very gracious. The room was so dark we were furnished flashlights to read the menu. The crab cake was OK, but a lot more expensive and not as good as several other Austin seafood restaurants. Their dinner of stone crab was the most disappointing - overcooked and flavorless. Nice dessert and coffee. Never again.
Pros: Highly trained server, very gracious
Cons: below average food at high prices
Save yourself from the overpriced, noisy atmosphere. While the service was good and the quality of the seafood acceptable, the uninspired chef's concoctions left quite a bit to be desired. I tried several of my companion's dishes and all were so loaded up with sugar that if there wasn't seafood on the plate, I would have been sure that we ordered off of the dessert menu.
If you MUST go here, stick with the bread.
We were looking for some good seafood on our visit to Austin. Picked this restaurant by chance. Wow!!! The noise level in here is amazing. So loud we could barely hear our server, let alone our dining companions. Our server did seem to be very friendly and attentive. The food was just so-so and overpriced (for the quality). The menu seemed to be fairly small, while the wine list was very extensive. I wouldn't recommend this place to friends.
We usually dine at the Arboretum location, which has a much nicer atmosphere by the way, but I wanted to leave a review here as well.
When my hubby is craving seafood, we head to Trulucks. Sure it's expensive, but the food and service always deliver. We love the sweet potato fries as an appetiser. I enjoy the steak tenderloin medallions and he orders a different fish every time that he always raves about. This is a great special occasion restaurant as well as a great place to entertain clients.
Pros: food, piano bar, service, wine list
Fabulous dinner from the drinks before dinner to the wonderful dessert. Best of all we were treated like royalty...There were 4 in our party and the service was great and the food to die for. ...we walked in the door at 7:00 and left at 10:15... The other members of our group had all you can eat crab and I had the Jalepeno Salmon. ...The crab was exquisite and the best salmon I have ever eaten......from the appetizer to the dessert ...one word...Fabulous... I can't wait to go back. ....we have eaten at Truluck's in Houston many times and our first visit to the Austin was beyond expectations....
Pros: We were treated like royalty...from the time we got there until we left...great service.
Cons: none that I saw.
I can see why this place closed for lunch- Smart move. Service was all over the place. I could not tell you who our server was at any point of the night. I think our table got handed over about three times. Servers seemed anxious to get out on a apparently not so profitable night. No excuse for the lack of service, or the freshness of the seafood. I realize that it is after Christmas, but really are you going to push off all of your foul seafood that didn't sell over the holidays on the last days of the year, way to finish strong, and I mean with a strong odor! Foul- We attempted to speak with the managment about it, who was quick to apologize, and even admitted that they created a seafood feature that may not have been the best it could be. They offered to invite us back, but I don't think I can handle the stomachache.
Cons: Lack of Service, and freshness of seafood
Great seafood place for business or first date or maybe-romantic dinner. The hostesses can be just a little too fabulous and haven't quite gotten it through their heads that they're not doing anybody a favor by letting them dine in the restaurant.
Once you get past Ms. Fabulous, the wait staff is very good and attentive. There's a very solid surf/turf type menu, good fresh seafood and steaks. Definitely will repeat.
Pros: Great service, seafood and steaks
Cons: Condescending hostess
This is an excellent restaurant to take your significant other or your loved one for fine dining. It has dim lighting, an intimate setting?.the ambiance perfect. The cuisine along with the presentation of it all is exquisite. Nothing on the menu will leave you disappointed; even the water they serve is fantastic?.it?s the best I?ve ever had. The only downside to the restaurant is the service. Please understand my critique is solely based on one that existed from dining in a large group. I should also mention that I frequent fine restaurants on the regular, so I have an idea of what to expect. I feel that a restaurant of this price and caliber, the service could have been much swifter and taken to the next level. There was about a 30-minute lag in between courses, crumbs were never cleared from the table, and the piece de resistance was when the food to be taken home was presented in a plastic white grocery bag. Seeing that was comparable to topping off a hot fudge sundae with a pickled onion. It made me forget about how my glass was never empty, how the waiters all were educated to knowing which way to serve. How my napkin was folded and neatly placed had I left the table, how the meal was so satiating you?d never stray and the desserts were so perfect, it?s hard to decipher if you were in love or lust. Maybe I have high standards, I am from the Northeast and I know they say things in the South are done much differently. Nevertheless, in my opinion, in order for this venue to be given a 5-star review, the service would have to be as impeccable as the meal. In this case, it was an utter disappointment; I left with a bad taste in my mouth.
Pros: Ambiance, Cuisine, Wine List
Cons: Wait service for a large group (~12) needs to be as comparable as that of a couple
On a recent visit to downtown Austin, I wanted to experience some great seafood for dinner. My date and I did some research, and initially selected Truluck's solely based on their friendly host and available reservations. We were greeted with smiles and knowledgeable staff. Our waitress was courteous, respectful of our privacy and acted as if we were her only table in the restaurant. For an appetizer, we tried the superlump crabcrake and were deliciously surprised to find that it arrived full of crab meat, and not covered with excessive breading. Our entrees were equally delicious. The Jalepeno Salmon had a tasty sauce that wasn't as spicy as feared. The flaky salmon was paired well with mashed potatoes. Our other entree was the Flounder Ponchartrain. I have never tasted fish so tasty! The flounder was breaded and served with baby shrimp, rice, and a wonderful sauce. My date and I enjoyed a wine flight each, and we loved being able to sample some of Truluck's white wines before choosing a full glass of our favorites. The quiet atmosphere was quiet enough to have private conversation and lively enough to feel as if we were part of the downtown city life. Our glasses were sneakily refilled and our plates taken away only after we were truly stuffed. My only regret is that we both could not eat our whole entree!
This is a MUST for date night, or a delicious meal before hitting some downtown bars. We received wonderful service and attention, dined on the best seafood we have ever tasted, were given amazing wine recommendations to accompany our meals, and had a romantic time together. Truluck's is a sure bet, they will treat you as if you are the most important guest in the restaurant.
I've reviewed this one before after an unbelievable experience but we were back recently and it blew us away again! I don't understand where this handful of unimpressive reviews is comming from. These people obviously do not understand that what they describe as "loud" is the excitement for which all high volume downtown restaurants should strive . If you want to begin an exciting celebration in downtown Austin with an exceptional dinning experience, choose Trulucks! Consitantly fresh seafood, lovely live entertainment and service with attention to detail make Trulucks our choice for just such an experience every time. "Uninspired dishes", give me a break! The menu is a virtual treasure trove of fresh delights from the sea prepared in every conceivable style. I love seafood and for my money there is no better option in Austin.
Pros: Service and quality of food second to none.
Cons: Not a child freindly place.
My wife and I visited the other night and sat in the bar. The bartender seemed very disinterested in us and wasnt much for conversation. We ordered some apps, the lobster dip which had an odd flavor, the Goat Cheese "Napolean" which was not a napolean, just some goat cheese, mixed greens and baguette bread. We also got the potato chips which were ok, but didnt have much sauce to them. I like the flight idea for the wine, though and would return for that. For the food McCormick and Schmicks down the street is much better, though prices are comparable at both stores.
Truluck's is my favorite upscale restaurant in Austin. My favorite dishes are the crab fingers appetizer, wedge salad and pork chops. For dessert, you have to go for either the carrot cake (best I've ever had) or the chocolate cake (very decadent and delicious). The service has always been quick and friendly whenever I've been and they always have a special surprise if you tell them it's a special occasion.
Pros: Food and service
I have over 14 years of experience in the food industry, I have eaten at restaurants in some of the greatest culinary cities in the world, I myself am a chef, and this place gets it right on all levels. I have eaten at the downtown location many times, with parties of 3 to 16, and I have not once had a bad experience, or anything that resembled one. From the time that you walk into the door until the time you leave you know you are in a place that prides itself on its decor, its food, its service, the overall experience. The service is top notch, the waiters know that food, the wine, they make great recommendations, they are attentive but not overbearing. The food is fresh, full of taste, and portioned correctly for the price. The desserts are wonderful and enough to share. The only fault that I have been able to find is that they have a short stock of good wines, twice we have enjoyed a great bottle or two of wine to find that we have taken the last bottle of the cellar shelf. Other than that, in my mind there is not a better restaurant top to bottom in downtown Austin.
Pros: Serive, Menu, Desserts
Cons: Low quantities of good wine
From the moment I set foot inside their downtown location I was greeted and offered a drink at the bar while I waited. They gave all the women of the night roses before they sat us. We were just a party of two looking for a romantic evening dinner on that special day, we were sat in a large spacious comfortable booth just for us. They had specially printed Valentines day menu's for the evening. The food was excellent, the chefs sauce was the perfect complement to the scallops, and the flounder was cooked perfectly. The portions were quiet large, I have become accustomed to the inverse relationship between price and portioning of the food, needless to say I was left very very satisfied. My only regret is that I was not able to have one of their desserts. I was simply to full to partake in any of the masterpieces. I did however request that the tray be brought out to me so I could drool over them before I left. The service was perfect, we even received a complementary Polaroid to help us remember the special night. The icing on the cake to me was the next day, I received a call making sure my evening went as planned. I truly admire the customer service I received, I can not wait to return and have some of those amazing looking desserts.
Pros: Amazing service, Great food, Desserts looked amazing
Cons: None, perfect evening.
My wife and two daughters returned to visit the newer Arboretum location following a trip to the downtown location two years ago with family visiting from California. The main motivation was the seafood, a favorite of my oldest daughter and myself. We had very much enjoyed the king crab and seared tuna on our previous visit.
We arrived at 7:25 for our 7:30 reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. The staff was courteous and professional. First impression was decor was well done although seating was crowded and tables quite small. Room quite noisy.
Once seated service was prompt and professional. Bread and drinks were served and were very good. My Caesar salad was exceptionally well done, fresh and even included anchovies if desired. My wife had a house salad and it too was very good. This was probably the best portion of the meal.
My wife and youngest daughter shared an order of the bone in rib eye. My oldest daughter and I both decided on the king crab. The meals arrived after a suitable time to enjoy bread and salads and family conversation. First impression were mixed. The shared rib eye look very nice, with generous portions of meat and sides for both wife and daughter. I was somewhat taken aback by a single king crab leg on the other two meals. I'm not sure what the portion size was supposed to be but I would estimate that it represented about a pound. We all seemed to recall a much larger portion at our previous visit at the downtown location. The sides were not hot and the crab shells were soft and could not be cracked, just bent. Just did not seem fresh. After some time I noticed both my wife and daughter picking at their steaks. Tasting my daughters steak it was ok, but not what I would call prime by any stretch. Similar quality as chain steak house. Not even close to Austin L&C or Chicago Chop House.
We left feeling somewhat lacking. When you pay near $50 per meal you should get better quality. I don't think we will return.
Pros: Great service, good seafood as a rule
Cons: Price, poor quality steaks, cramped tables, noisy
First off my review will be for Trulucks in the Arboretum area. This restaurant is very classy and I and my wife enjoyed the atmosphere very much. Our server Lucinda was wonderful and very attentive, the wine selection is second to none, the food was very good. I recommend this place to any and everyone who wants to enjoy a good time. This is no run of the mill seafood and steak house. If you want elegance with some music and great service then this is your place.
Pros: Ambience, Great Service, Great Food and Good Wine
Wow want a great place to meet people is the piano bar !1 If you like wholesome and great staff .you will enjoy the wines and great drinks there. Food is the best especially the stone crab claws whew!! Overall this is my favorite place!! Yes high recommended!!
Pros: great friendly staff
I always find my visits to Truluck's to be pleasant. The service is always attentive, if a bit harried, and the food is excellent.
But even more important is the management's commitment to excellent customer service. On two different occasions, when getting crab legs to go, items from our order were missing. When we had to go back to get the items, the manager on duty immediately gave us $30 gift certficates and apologized for our inconvenience. It's that kind of customer service that gets repeat visits (even with kitchen errors). Everyone makes mistakes, but fine restaurants step up to the plate to resolve them immediately.
Bravo for a restaurant that cares about both its customers and its bottom line!
Pros: Seafood is ALWAYS fresh, carrot cake, wine list
Cons: a little noisy in main dining room, $7 for warehouse district parking (plus tip)
I've been in Austin for six years, and I try to save expensive dining for the places that are worth it. I've tried a few and in my experience, Truluck's is the one restaurant in Austin that is worth every penny of a pricier dinner.
On the downside, the service, as some folks have mentioned, can be spotty and the restaurant can be loud. Both times i was there, the hostesses acted entirely apathetic and disinterested in their jobs. Our servers, both times, took a long time to arrive, but once they did were entirely attentive.
But...that all drops away when the food arrives. The food is just outstanding, every item you'll eat. My personal favorite is the crunchy jalapeno trout, and its one of the least expensive items on the menu. You get a lot of food too...another writer mentioned small portion size but everyone I've ever eaten with there (and I've gone with some big eaters) left more than satisfied., and often with leftovers
My family from out of town requests this restaurant every time they come in. I try to get them to try new places but to my joy, they always want trulucks. I won't complain!
Pros: Fantastic food and desserts
Cons: Can get noisy, service is initially slow
Very disappointing. Only place in Austin where I have spent $80+ on my own meal and left hungry. Crab claws were great, but the cocktail sauce was horrible in a class all its own. Crab-Stuffed Red Snapper was tasty, but don't expect anything stuffed, because the tablespoon size portion of stuffing was served on top of a piece of fish too small to stuff with anything.
Pros: FL Stone Crab Claws
Cons: Expensive, Small Portion, Worst Cocktail Sauce
We were a party of 7 that had to cancel our reservations downtown. We made later reservations at the Truluck's on Research.
Melissa was our Server and offered the best recommendations, with prompt service and fabulous personality. All 7 of us were delighted with the meals we chose. The Ribeye is to LIVE for (die for), the flounder was delicious.....we could not have asked for a better meal for Graduation dinner.
Pricey.....but large portions - makes up for the cost.
Pros: Great Food, Large portions, Great Service
Cons: A Tad pricey
Wow! Truluck's has become one of our favorite places to go, even just for a drink and appetizers. The bar has an awesome collection of wines, scotches, cognac, etc. The crab cakes are to die for. And I always feel as if I've been waited one like I am royalty.
Pros: seafood, side dishes, service
I am not a seafood lover, actually I have never liked it until I had the Alaskan Halibut. It was the perfect blend of texture and taste that I have ever put in my mouth. If Truluck's can make me like fish, then it has definatly got to have the best seafood in the country.
Pros: food, service, setting
Cons: little pricy
I've been to Truluck's many times and keep hoping it will get better. It's styled well and the food is always average. The service, although friendly, is always S L O W . Don't expect to get out of there in under three hours. Additionally, it's a VERY noisy place. I find myself constantly almost yelling at my tablemates.
Pros: Downtown Locale, Interior Nicely Style
Cons: SLOW Service, VERY noisy
My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner here. We decided to have appetizers as our meal and loved the hot and crunch shrimp, the crab cake was ALL crab(YUM) and the crab fried rice(new one for us) was just delicious. For dessert we had the most delicious chocolate cake ever(so moist) and a dessert that was layered with vanilla sponge cake, key lime filling and the most creamy meringue on top. My husband said the key lime dessert was the best desser he had ever had. EVERBODY should try this place!!!!!!
Pros: delicious food, affordable, wine flights(sampler)
Had to redo this review because went again and adored how wonderful the meal is. Only down point is the wait, sometimes it can get ridiculous. Reservations are highly recommended. Cakes - divine. Chocolate cake is heavenly but now that I've sworn off chocolate - the carrot cake makes me sooooo happy. Moist carrot cake layers hugged in sweet cream cheese frosting. Complimentary bread is wonderfully chewy on the inside and crusty on the outside. The crab cake - the best I've had. The portabello appetizer is also delish. A little disappointed by the soups and salads but it's okay, everything else was splendid.
Pros: cake - yum, ambiance, service
Cons: wait wait wait, not real quiet
My Truluck's experience was absolutely wonderful. The bottle of wine was excellent. The center-cut tenderloin with the Parmesan mashed potatoes was simply delicious, and desert was absolutely to die for. Our waiter was extremely attentive and very helpful. Overall a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Pros: Service, Steak, Wine List
Manager was very accomodating as we were looking to celebrate a birthday. He gave us a great spot next to the kitchen. No complaints about the food, everything tasted great. The crusted trout was splendid. I liked the "wine experience" they offer several tastings of a specific wine family. Very pleasant atmosphere. I would highly recommend.
Pros: Great service, Management, Atmosphere
My three experiences at Trulucks have always started horribly and ended wonderfully leaving me with a desire to return. The bad start is almost always precipitated by very rude, prententious, and ignorant hostesses. I wonder why a restaurant of this caliber has their least trained and least professional staff greet you upon arrival. If you get past their stuffy attitude and are seated, you'll be more than happy with the very professional and mostly unpretentious wait staff. The food is superb and once inside, you'll be treated like royalty.
Pros: food, atmosphere, professional waiters
My boyfriend and I were celebrating our year anniversary and we chose to go to Truluck's(I had heard amazing reviews about the restaurant and it was our first time to go...). We had reservations but got there 10 minutes late (we called and they said it was fine). However, we did not get seated for another hour. Our waiter was friendly though we were pretty thirsty a few times throughout our meal. There were a lot of REALLY loud, annoying people there so it was hard to enjoy a romantic evening(or even talk without straining your voice). The food was good and worth the price but I do NOT recommend this for a romantic evening at ALL. perhaps if you are with a big group of friends or even family..
Pros: Food, Fast Service
Cons: , Annoying People
We arrived at 9pm with a line of people waiting to be seated. We thought about leaving before we even put our name on the list but we took a look into the dining room and decided it was worth the wait. Everyone dining looked so happy and content. The wait was not that long afterall. We were seated and on our way to a wonderful meal in no time. The waiter was very nice and even though there were so many people dining that evening he stayed relaxed and focused on us. We felt as though we were his only table that night. I ordered the Tenderloin Medallions medium rare. The steak was perfect! Great flavor and very tender. I'll go back for sure!
I LOVE going to Truluck's!!!!!! It is so nice to be able to walk into a fine dining restaurant and be fully welcomed with a child. I have a toddler and often dine alone with her. They go out of their way to accomodate us, and are extremely friendly! Their food is IMPECABLE! I feel comfortable giving my daughter their fish since it is fresh from the sea and flown in daily, so I know there are no antibiotics added in. I highly recommend the Hot and Crunchy Trout, and the Mocha Mud Pie is to DIE FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will recomend to bring an extra 6 bucks (plus a little extra tip) to use the valet- it takes the aggravation out of finding a spot that will cost about the same, and save you the walk.
Pros: Service, Food Quality, Ambience
I HAVE DINED AT EVERY MEDIUM TO FINE DINING SPOT IN ALL OF DOWNTOWN AUSTIN AND ONLY TRULUCK'S STANDS OUT AS ABSOLUTELY SMASHING! WITH A WINE LIST THAT WILL TURN ANY HEAD FROM CALIFORNIA TO FRANCE AND CREATIVE SEAFOOD DISHES WITH INFLUENCES FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE, TRULUCK'S MAINTAINS A CASUAL ELEGENCE SECOND TO NONE. THAT'S NOT EVEN THE BEST PART. THE SERVICE WAS UP TO A STANDARD THAT IS IN MY OPINION UNMATCHED. RECOMMENDNING TRULUCK'S WOULD NOT DO IT JUSTICE. IT IS SOMETHING YOU WOULD HAVE TO EXPERIENCE FOR YOURSELF. "WOW!" THANKS GUYS FOR MAKING MY 25TH ANNIVERSARY DINING EXPERIENCE THE BEST YET!
The Filet Mignon is the best. The servers are really attentive and friendly.
Pros: food, service, wine selection
Cons: , wine can be pricey
The food was alright -- nothing special. Actually, I wasn't too impressed with my dish or my husband's, especially factoring in the high cost.
I've found MUCH better seafood in Austin!
Pros: Reservations, Service
Cons: , Food not good
I recently spent an evening at Trulucks, my first time there. I had heard so many good things that I was expecting a lovely, relaxing evening.
We were seated in the center of the restaurant and the acoustics were horrible! There was music playing, but I couldn't tell what it was. All it did was add to the noise level. We had to raise our voices to talk. Romance would have been impossible.
Our food was very good, fairly expensive, but still worth the price. BUT, I had two glasses of La Crema (a $15 bottle of wine at HEB), and was stunned when the bill came - the wine was $11 a glass. Now come on.
I'd pay that at Jeffreys just for the lovely, quiet surroundings, but not in that room!
I don't think I'll be back.
Pros: The food, The service, Very pretty
Cons: , Ridiculous wine price
I had dinner at Truluck's with 15 friends and every dish was a delightful treat for the tongue. I didn't try the fish dishes (allergic), but each look wonderful and the aroma isn't something I will soon forget. I HIGHLY recommend Truluck's!
Pros: Food, Staff, Drinks
I have always had a great time at Truluck's - the atmosphere was energizing, the escobar is phenomenal, and the best part was that the waiter Chris is by the best server I have seen in some time now. Keep it up!!!
