Both my kids have been at TOG and I think we were lucky to have found this place. We passed TOG the first time around as we thought that the bigger and fancier the place the better but we didnt last more than 2 months in such a place, we came back to TOG as fast as we could and have been there for the last 3 years.
The love and attention that the teachers impart to our kids cannot be described in words. Everyone one knows everyone here and my kids love their teachers and are engaged full time. The one thing that stands out in this place is that some teachers have been there for 12+ years which says a lot about this place, It is evident that Ms.Carol does not see this as a business but as her passion. Her love of the place spreads throughtout the entire staff . Oh! the food is cooked with fresh ingrediants everday by Ms.Linda and the menu is so creative. The smell of her kicthen and her smiling face is a familiar sight each morning.
My kids learn a lot, made best of friends, love their school and teachers and sometimes dont want to go home. What more does a parent need?

The Octopus Garden has been a true gift to our family. From the healthy, delicious food, to the kind, caring, loving staff, we have loved EVERY minute we've spent there! My children will be "graduating" this year, and we will miss the Octopus Garden more than we can say!!

Ratings_icons I couldn't ask for a better place for my daughter!

Kristi G.

All it took was one tour though the school to know it was the best place for us. What made our decision for us was the children. In each and every room the children were happy and engaged in some valuable activity. Carol is a fantastic director of this daycare who I have the utmost respect for and Cori, the assistant director is just as wonderful as Carol. She is very caring to all of the children and you can tell each child is special in their own way to her. In the Infant room, Miss Ruby and Miss Felicia instantly make you feel OK about leaving your infant child in their care. I couldn't ask for better care takers of my daughter while I am work. Our daughter is very happy here and you can tell is excited everytime we arrive at school. I really wish that we could keep our daughter there as long as she requires some sort of daycare. It will be a very sad day for us when we have to part ways with TOG. If only there was a way to help them be able to expand past what they handle now. I know they would be awesome at anything they attempt.

Ratings_icons A True Delight

Megan C.

Our son has been at TOG since he was 10 weeks old (now 2 1/2) and we are currently pregnant with our second and cannot wait for her to go to this school and enjoy all the wonderful opportunities our son has had there. This is a fantastic, one of a kind school with so much love and dedication to each of the children in it's care. There are so many things we see that set them apart from their competitors. I love the meals made from "scratch" daily....always a wonderful thing to smell walking in the door each morning. I also think it is fantastic that they teach family values at the table. Since our son has been at this school, he continues to excell beyond a lot of children his age. He comes home daily singing new songs, knows his entire alphabet, can count to 15 and brings home beautiful artwork he gets to create in class. Each week we get an agenda sent home with him outlining the subject they will study and it lists all the fun activities surrounding learning that subject. The Owner and Director, Carol, is very smart and organized. I am always so impressed with her attention and dedication to every detail and how she remebers each childs name. You can tell this school is her joy. I also appreciate the teachers commitment to each child in their classroom and all the love and attention they give. I feel so confident in their care that I even hire them outside the school hours to babysit for us at home. Thank you TOG for being the place we feel most comfortable to have our children when they are not in our own care. This school is a "true delight" and I hope more families find this special place for their children as well.

Ratings_icons My children no longer go there but........................

Nicole G.

I WISH THERE DID!!
I had to pull my kids out, of the Octopus Garden, because I get off of work at the time they close. I have tried one daycare and a homecare since we left in June; It has been HORRIBLE. The food, the curriculm, the teachers are not up to snuff. I have been duped X2. I am currently working on getting my schedule changed. Then I will try to get my daughter back into this one of a kind preschool..

Ratings_icons Simply the best

Elena M.

We were with Octopus Garden for 5 years. Since my daughter was 3 months she received the best care and education you could wish for your child. My daughter was safe, clean, cared for as if she was being cared for by a grandmother or a loving parent. Children are constantly learning while they have fun. Simply the best, definitely a World Class. I wish they opened an elementary school. The world would benefit if all schools were run on Carol Luscombe loving, caring, challenging and creative education system.

Ratings_icons What a Gift.

My husband and I have three children and all have had the amazing privledge of coming to this special place. You walk in the door and the love is evident. The thing I notice most is the attention to detail. You might think I mean clean, professional, well run, nice lesson plans, and well of course that is all there, but the detail I would praise most highly is how they notice the details in and for the children. These guys go the extra mile for our kids. Our children are growing plants, doing art, reading and being read too. They are also learning interact kindly and respectfully with others.
The heart of this place is what every parent hopes for!!

PROS: Loving teachers, meaningful/creative activites, owners put their ow
CONS: Should have other branches !!

Ratings_icons A passion for nurturing and teaching our little ones!

Jean B.

The Best! Wonderful staff led by a director that sets the tone for a nurturing learning environment. I combed North Dallas for months in my search for childcare. Many have dazzling new buildings with flashy programs on paper, but the most compassion, peace, and love of learning are nestled in The Octopus Garden. My daughter is thriving and they help me be a better parent with supportive input. LOVE THEM!! I consider them family. Meet them & see!

PROS: Very low staff turnover, dedicated and compassionate team
CONS: when I win lottery, will construct new building for these angels!

Ratings_icons Kids went here for a bit

Clint B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 10,335

This is simply an o.k. place to take your kids for daycare and preschool. My children went here for a little while and I really wasn't happy or unhappy with it. Compared to many, it's a nice place, but compared to some others we have seen, it is just simply boring. They don't do much with the kids, but it is safe and the people are pretty nice. I don't have a big opinion about this business, but would tell you to go if it is close to you and you need a good drop off place.

PROS: It's good
CONS: It's not the best
