Great Sushi

by Rick f.

We love this little place! Good food, we done interiors GREAT service - and per another comment - the shopping center has recently totally been remodeled, so the exterior looks good!

Give this place a try- it may very well rocket to the top of your list of favorite sushi restarants in Dallas! It did ours!

GREAT GREAT GREAT SUSHI!!!!!!

by Bret B.

THE BEST FISH IN DALLAS!!!!This is by far one of the best hidden gems in this saturated market of sushi restaurants in Dallas.I almost hesitate to write a review because I love the fact that this place is so quiet and charming and you can get top-notch fish and wonderful personal recommendations from Head Chef Rio-San.After eating at Masami almost every week for a year straight, I have not had one negative experience. It is ALWAYS GREAT.The only advice I would give new-comers is that you are best served to go on a weeknight and sit at the sushi bar. This will get you the most attention form the chefs.

Incredible sushi---but only one chef!

by Anonymous

The best Sushi-Sake (a restaurant) chef quit and moved here to Masami. Thus the food is just as good, the atmosphere quieter, with better decor, but...he's the only chef! So make sure it's not crowded when you enter; we were there last night with only ONE other customer and waited a while between dishes.

Other than that, I HIGHLY recommend this place. I especially loved their negitoro handroll, hamachi kama, negitofu (sp?), UNI, and salmon sashimi. Spicy tuna roll wasn't spicy though.

Enjoy!

Yummy Japanese

by Billy B. | insider Insider | Rank: 14,082

Very good Japanese. The daughter's name is Masami, so they named the restaurant Masami, then the owner sold it to a Thai guy, but he remained the sushi chef there. They started having Thai food in addition to their Japanese menu. They have very good sushi as well as other Japanese food like Teriyaki and their soups. I have not tried their Thai food so I don't know if it's any good. The place is just not the same as before anymore with the new owner taking over. I would still recommend them for their Japanese food.
