I have just moved from NOLA, and a coworker suggested Soultion to me. I really needed a cut and color fast. I wanted to go much lighter seeing as the summer has already began. To begin, Solution has to be the most beautiful Salon in Houston. It has a wonderful sleek modern look along with a gorgeous chandelier, attractive staff, and dynamic art. Seriously, the aesthetics alone put this place ahead.
My stylist, Brandy, promptly met me at the front. During the consolation, she was very inquisitive and made sure to grasp exactly what I was wanted. Already, I felt more relaxed and knew that I could trust that we shared the same vision. I wanted to go completely blonde. I have always wanted a color that was more ashy than the color I have received at other salons in the past, but I was afraid that this wouldn't work with my skin tone. Brandy was amazing at guiding me in choosing a color tone that would accomplish actually what I was going for. The color turned out absolutely perfect. I didn't know my hair could be this pretty. As far as the cut, I wanted to get rid of a lot of the weight in my hair and add some layers that would make it a bit more edgy. She did exactly that. I left feeling so much lighter, and my hair looked so good I couldn't stop looking at it in the mirror. I also noticed this morning that it was much easier to style. Brandy was really great, and I am so glad I have found the Salon and stylist in Houston that I can really count on. I can't wait to go out this weekend and show off my new look.

I had a color today with Felicia and a cut with Keelan. Both were amaaaaaaazing!! They took the time to talk to me about what I was looking for. Felicia consulted with me for at least 30 minutes about my hair color and what she was going to do. She did such an amazing job with my color and made it look wonderful!!
Keelan cut my hair so well. He listened to what I wanted and spent his time making sure that I liked the cut. He is awesome!! Overall a wonderful experience :)

I like going here because the staff is friendly and it's convenient, but honestly, I do not feel it is worth the price tag. I pay over $300 for a basic color and cut, nothing fancy. I feel that if I'm paying that much, I should walk out of there feeling fabulous. And I don't. I feel the same as when I only spend $150. I tried 3 times, the third was not the charm, so I'm going searching again.

On my first visit, Felicia colored my hair and took GREAT care of me. She gave me her professional opinion and went a step further to make sure i was taken care of. A bit pricy, but WELL worth it! Everyone was friendly, whether they worked on you or not.I was offered coffee, the environment is friendly and relaxed, not your regular hair salon. THANKS FELICIA!!!!

Jennifer started by asking what I liked and dislikes, what I was open to, time of event, colors, venue...she listens to your answers. I enjoyed my time with her, she is very sweet. My makeup was flawless and she helped me choose the makeup I'd need for touch-ups throughout my wedding day. I will use her for other events. You will not be unhappy if you go see Jennifer.

This is a really neat salon. Everyone there seems extremely talented. I have had my hair cut by Keelan many times and he always listens to exactly what I want and has really good suggestions too. I've never had a stylist that paid so much attention to detail. I would highly recommend him and the salon.

I have been getting my hair colored by Felica Joesph for 10 years or more she is the best. No one can color hair like Felica , I drive sixty miles to let her do my hair because she is the best hair colorer around. Also she knows just what colors match for you ,and everyone will stop you to ask who colored your hair ,and what color is it. If you want color ,and a Professional ask for Felica she is your girl ,and you want be sorry trust me .

Everywhere I go people ask about my hair color! I tell them my colorist is Felicia Joseph! I had never had my hair colored before until I met Felicia Joseph a year ago. Your wait is over! No need to read magazines or books about how to look your best...RUN to this salon and let Mark (hair) and Jennifer (make-up) show you how in one appt. I came to Solution, from one of Houston other premier salons... i never really felt that i received the personal attention that i was looking for. I felt that everyone that walked out of the "other salon" all looked the same. I made an appointment with Mario for a haircut. He suggested that we color my hair along with cutting it. I am so glad that he made the suggestion, He gave me a beautiful rich color that made my skin tone look amazing, the cut was FABULOUS!!! i have never received so many compliments on my hair!!! Mario is an all around talented stylist!!

I'm a hair freak. Seriously. I should join the circus. I have enough hair for a small army and I'm hyper-critical of anyone that comes near it... especially those armed with sharp objects. That said, I've been going to Solution for more than two years now and can honestly say, I've never been disappointed. I'd recommend Mark or Mario for cut and color (although I'm sure the whole team is just as qualified). They're both very, very good about listening to your concerns and working with you to find the best style for your face shape and hair type.

I was referred to the salon by a friend who spoke very highly of it.

My first appointment was for a cut with Mario. He took the time and listened to what I wanted and delivered it EXACTLY. I received the most precision cut EVER. My hair is a short, Bob style and every stylist I've ever visited usually misses a few pieces and the back never comes out even. Mario delivered perfectly. The next time I went in was for a cut and color. I left all the decisions to him... I told him to do whatever he thought would look best and I left with a sleek, sofisticated new do that was perfect for me! I received so many compliments on my hair and I LOVE it. I TRUST HIM TOTALLY.
My next appointment was with Jennifer for a makup consultation. This girl really knows her stuff. She made reccommendations for colors I wouldn't normally try and it looked great. It is so nice to sit down in a relaxed setting (unlike the mall) and really get to try before you buy. She asked questions about my usual regimen both for skin care and makeup and made reccommendations that work great for me! I'll definately visit her again to get new products for Fall.
The salon is clean and low key, Kevin is great on the phone and I always receive a prompt call back when I have to leave a message. You can't go wrong at this salon!

Fantastic color and cuts! Everyone is always friendly and professional. I constantly get compliments on my hair. I have been going to Solution for almost five years and couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

A few months ago, I was invited to a high school friend's wedding and, of course, wanted to look amazing! I wanted to get my makeup professionally done, so I asked around and Jennifer's name was suggested. I called to make an appointment and they told me about a special they were running - free makeup and blowout! I could not have been happier with the results! Jennifer took the time to ask me about the look I was going for, she tailored her makeup expertise to my personal style and explained what she was doing along the way so that I felt comfortable and beautiful. Everyone at the wedding complimented me on my makeup (mission accomplished!) and when I called Jennifer to thank her, she was so personable and fun - I know I will go back to her for my next special event!

In fact, just last week I threw a party for some girlfriends and invited Jennifer to give a makeup demonstration and "group lesson" in a relaxed, fun, girl-powered environment! She was the highlight of the party! Everyone really enjoyed having a professional makeup artist there to show them the proper techniques, but Jennifer also really added to the girls night with her fun and spunky personality!

I have been to other places, but I feel most comfortable at Solution. I know that I will walk out with a beautiful cut and color every time. It's tricky balancing fashion trends with a look that is comfortable for me at the office. Marc is able to blend the color so naturally that seems striking yet subtle. The atmosphere is friendly and intimate.

It has been said and it should be known Mark is truly a wizard with scissors! I myself am a licensed cosmotologist and have been for 6 years now, and over the years i have just had a hard time puttin the faith of my hair in someone elses hands. Never being satisfied with the results of trying stylist after stylist, I started cutting my own hair. I know it sound crazy but is possible! Then finally I dicovered Mark at solutions ladies, gentleman this guy is wicked awesome! He can diffinetly give you what your lookin for! I've noticed that salon reviews are generally not too educational. BEST EVER/WORST EVER. But best and worst are so objective? So here I am, to detail one girl's journey to find the perfect stylist in a new town, and hopefully help someone else in a similar situation. (And I'll always tell you what I paid!)

As a bit of background, I just moved to Houston within the last year. In my home town, I had a stylist who was with me for over five years. She was a miracle worker-gave me cuts so wonderful that total strangers would compliment my style-and not just when I walked home from the salon. She and my hair were soul mates, and I hated to leave her behind.

My hair profile: Medium length, thick and wavy that I usually fight with a blowdrier and a round brush. No colors, highlights, or other chemical treatments. I like an easy style that looks natural, professional, and flattering. The cut requires some skill as the good stylists use several cutting techniques to tame my mane, but nothing really crazy.

So here we go: Solution for Hair was the first place I tried upon moving to Houston. It came highly recommended by a good friend, who has good hair. She suggested I see her stylist, a younger male at the salon. Unfortunately, he was booked, and I accepted an appointment with Mark, the owner. I felt like I was in good hands. The salon was lovely and everyone was very nice. Being my first cut in Houston, I was a little skittish about letting him do his thing, and I asked him to replicate the cut I came in with, only shorter. I think he was a bit put off that I wasn't willing to give him complete control, and I ended up with a decent haircut resembling the one my hair soul mate gave me but without... the soul. No compliments from total strangers, none from friends, either. At $125 for the cut alone, I was disappointed. I would go back, but only to see the stylist that had initially been recommended to me (I hear he charges less, too!)

Cons: A cut that expensive should make me feel special. It didn't.

Solution is our home away from home. My wife and I have been clients of Solution for many years and would not think about going anywhere else. Mark, Hosanna and Kevin are like family and somehow manage to do a perfect job every time we visit. Between my wife and I, we are at the salon at least once a week and look forward to each visit. You should schedule an appointment immediately!

I'm a relatively new client of Mark's (3 years), and am hooked! He has put together the best team of people who work together to totally satisfy their cleints. The atmosphere is relaxed, but professional. I truly feel welcomed as soon as I walk in. I am always looking for a bit of a change, and Mark always comes up with something to totally please me...wether it be a slightly different cut, color or highlites, he nails it every time.

Yes, I know that Solution as it is now hasn't been around for 15 years, but that's how long Mark Horn and his wonderful team have been cutting and styling my hair.

The ambiance is always warm and friendly with a courteous and professional staff that make you feel completely comfortable. True professionals, they take the time to listen to your concerns about your hair and its style.

I love coming to Solution, and I know that I'll always look fabulous and feel great when I leave.

I could not imagine letting anyone else touch my hair. I can always count on Hosana for coming up with creative ideas that are consistently beautiful. I would highly recommend Solution and Hosana for great color and cut. Solution is such a wonderful place to relax which can be mostly attributed to Kevin and his knack for being the best salon "host." I always enjoy my time at Solution for the way I look when I leave and the time I spend being taken care of while I am there. Go see Hosana at Solution...you will not be disappointed!

The staff at Solutions really knows their hair! No matter who you go to there you can be assured they will listen to your likes and dislikes then give you a style you can be comfortable in. They also are a group of color specialists. Every time after I leave this salon and for days after that I receive compliments on how great my hair looks. The staff is friendly and they consistently provide excellent customer service.

I couldn't live so beautifully without the incredible services of Jennifer Aronson at Solution. She is such a talented and creative make-up artist and she really knows how to use and recommend Nars Cosmetics. I used to walk up to the counter in the department store with no direction, other than choosing the colors I liked and thought would look best on me. And, of course, choosing the skin care products I thought best fit my skin's needs. I could never find the right look until I met Jennifer. She has discovered the colors that bring out my best natural features and taken the time to show me how to make sure I get the same results at home. I'll never go buy make-up in a department store again!

Also, one of the best beauty investments out there, I think, are the new Lash Extensions. Jennifer has many times artfully applied the lash extensions on my real lashes, and I felt great with or without make-up, always looking natural. They're so easy to maintain, getting fills only every few weeks, or so. And you don't have to put on mascara, worrying about it running or smudging. They're fabulous! Thanks, Jennifer!

I've enjoyed my experience the last few times I've been to Solution for Hair. Kevin never fails to make you feel at home the minute you walk through the door. Mario is great with color.... he picked the perfect shade of brown for my skin tone and did a great job on my haircut and blowout as well. I would highly recommend this salon for those looking for a friendly atmosphere and people who really know what they are doing. I've heard great things about the make-up artists as well...looking forward to trying that out one day too!

I followed Juan to Solution because he is the only one that makes my hair look great and he is SO special...
He takes time getting my hair just right and cares how you feel and listens to you regarding how you would like your hair to look.

I received a gift certificate for Solution and decided to go check it out. Juan did a superb job on my color and cut and spent extra time really showing that he cared. It was a much needed change for me! I cannot wait to return!

I have gone to Dallas for 15 years to have my hair color/cut done at a salon that used Daviness product. After researching the web, I found out that "Solutions" used the same color product, Daviness.

I called "Solutions" and Kevin answered. He was so polite and confirmed that they did indeed use the Daviness color. I made my appointment with Hosana, who has turned out to be a perfect fit for me. She has an easy going personality which exudes confidence. On the first visit, I was the typical, "do this, do that" client. But, I learned real fast to trust Hosana. She is very talented and knows color. She changed my usual shade, which was becoming drab with my skintone and it made a huge difference. As we age, our skin does change and she knew exactly what to do.

To this day, after about a year of going to their salon, I ALWAYS call Kevin to guide me to their door. He is so kind with a personable and professional personality. These two employees are the only ones I've come in contact with and I'm happy I did. Maybe I'll navigate to their new location with a bit more ease!

I have been using Mark to cut and color my hair now for over 10 years. His technique and styling is impeccable...I get so many compliments on the color and style that I now just carry his card around to pass out when people ask. I can totally relax and know that I don't have to do any thinking...I trust his expertise. The salon is stylish and just the right size. I went into Solution in search of a make up artist that could do my make up for my prom!!!I That make up artist happened to be Jennifer Aronson. I wanted my makeup to be light, but at the same time i wanted it to be visible in pictures and i wanted my eyes to pop! I am the kind of person who is never pleased when I get my make up done and I always run home to change it. Not only was I beyond pleased with my make up, but Jennifer Aronson ran on time, made me feel very comfortable, she was so sweet, she gave me helpful tips that i could use to improve the way I do my own make up, I didn't want to change a thing, she worked diligently but quickly, and I happened to catch the end of the client's session before mine and a little bit of the client's session after mine and I was so impressed. The client before me was a middle aged woman who looked absolutely stunning with a fabulous night time look, and the client after me was a little girl who had a dance recital. I was so impressed and so happy!! My pictures were gorgeous and every mirror I passed, I had to look in!! I will always go to Jennifer Aronson and if you want to feel as confident and as beautiful as I got to feel on my prom night, then you will try to squeeze in an appointment with Jennifer Aronson too!

I?ve been going to SoLuTion for at least 3 years and my only regret is that I didn?t find them sooner. Mark Horn is BRILLIANT. I often like to change my look (cut and color) and he is always up for the challenge. I have never left the salon disappointed, and absolutely love to go out after getting my hair done to show it off. I actually look forward to getting my hair done! People ask me ALL THE TIME where I get my hair done and anyone I?ve referred to Mark has been thrilled with the results. Kevin at the front desk jumps up to get you a drink as soon as you walk in the door and always remembers your name. He?s helpful on the phone when scheduling appointments and returns calls immediately. Juan does an amazing blowout?.people often refer to him as the blowout king. Jennifer and Heidi are both incredible make up artists and do an outstanding job. I recently got married and my entire bridal party, mother, and sister-in-laws got ready at SoLuTioN the morning of the wedding. All 11 women were thrilled with their hair and makeup and it shows in all the pictures. I will never go to another salon!

I have been to many of the top salons around the country, and rarely, if ever, have I paid over $200 for partial highlights from an underexperienced staff person. I have received better highlights from level one stylists at national chains. I left with obvious brush marks in my hair, where the dye had just been slapped on, and a clear delineation between the dye and my roots. And i am a natural blonde! The unbelievable price for a less than stellar stylist, coupled with a salon that lacks those simple niceties we come to enjoy at fine salons (personal attention, a glass of wine) means I will not be back.

Mark Horn has been doing my hair for about 12 years and I would never see anyone else. Over the years we have had multiple styles and colors and I heave never been disappointed. Whether it's highlights or one step color, Mark always nails it with his color application and I am constantly asked who does my hair. For the past few years I have done the permanent straighening procedure which I have heard horror stories about from other people.. my long color treated hair comes out perfectly straight and soft and not damaged at all. Mario does the straightening now since it takes all day and it still comes out perfect, he obviously trained with the best! Casey does the best makeup in town and I always book eyebrow waxing and color with him when I am seeing Mark. Casey is an eyebrow perfectionist and will not be happy until every single hair is either gone or perfectly in place. Basically Solution is outstanding, from super friendly Kevin at the front desk who gets you a glass of wine as soon as you walk in the door, to the minute you leave you will never be disapopointed. I have sent so many people there over the years and every one of my referrals is a Solution junkie now too. Do yourself a favor just go there!

Hosanna ley, @ Solution for Hair, was the first sign that I was going to love living in Houston, and the positive experience of walking into a beautifully designed hair studio and being offered a beverage was the second good sign. She was the most recommended hairdresser from friends, and now I?m recommending her, and the salon to my friends!

Hosanna at Solution has a gift for hair coloring. She is the one I always go to now. Other hair dressers never listened to what I wanted. She understood and found just the right combination for me. She also advised me on everything I needed to know to keep my hair in good condition - I wear my hair long and want to keep it that way. You will also be delighted with her personality = She will light up your day!

It had been a month and a half since I had some heavy highlights done to my naturally curly brunette hair in another salon. I wanted to go "natural" red and since I am pale, can pull it off much better than blonde. After reading the great reviews I booked an appointment with Mark at Solutions but was still a bit worried because I already had about 4 different colors in my head (and very damaged from the previous experiment done somewhere else) and hoped not to look like a clown. As you all know, red is very difficult to do well.
Between Mark and Mario they were able to come up with a "red potion" and gave me the most gorgeous red-copper hair ever. Love it!
Plus, the cost is reasonable compared to other salons, the hair color they use doesn't smell too strong and everyone in the salon is super nice and were quick to recommend (and later compliment) colors for my skin tone.
They really know their color.
Only salon I recommend in Houston after 5 years of searching.

Let me tell you, Juan sure knows how to style difficult hair like mine. I have never had someone style my hair so perfect, lots of movement and volume with no product, which i like no junk on my hair, I also love that my ends where so smooth and my style last 3 days, no kidding!!!! Juan was so personable and pleasent, I felt so comfortable, he even took the time to teach me about learning how to do my own blowout. I am defenitely coming back for Juan.

I got my hair cut and colored about a week ago from one of their stylist, Casey Clay, and left walking a little taller.

He did exactly what I wanted and recommended a few things which left me with something more than I expected.

I can?t wait to go back .

I LOVE Solution! I see Casey (who is awesome) for my highlights and color and Brad for my cuts. Casey does an amazing job each and every time. I ALWAYS get compliments on my hair color and how natural it looks. The shade is so pretty and different than anywhere else- definately not the same old bottle blond hair color- it's really really pretty. Plus Casey has a great personality! When I leave the salon with my hair styled I don't feel like I want to go home and re-fix it, it's looks amazing and perfect- I've never felt that way about anyone styling my hair before. Brad always gives a great hair cut, and the thing I love is that in between cuts it grows out into a good hair style so it looks good from the time you walk out of the salon until you walk back in 6-8 weeks later for your next appt. You are missing out if you don't go check them out!

I?ve been going to Solution for years for their great haircuts, but only recently booked an appointment for color for the first time. Marco did my color, and I have to say that I am nothing but pleased. Marco made my hair a perfect, natural-looking blond. Even a former hairdresser, whom I ran into at the store, commented on how nice my hair looks. I?ve already booked another visit with Marco, and I would recommend him to anyone. They know our preferences, and what looks good. I recommend them to everyone. I just started a new position this week and was asked where did I get my hair done, because it was a beautiful cut. Brad and Mark are great stylist and color experts and are very informed. They set the trends in hair fashion and the standard for all their stylist, each of which can hold their own.
