I have been in the service industry for 15 years. I have worked every position there is, from waiting tables, to management. The treatment we received today left such a bad taste in my mouth, I doubt we'll ever return. I live a good 30 minutes away, traffic was terrible, torrential rain outside, and I had my good friend, her 3 year old, and my 5 month old baby, but we were determined to get there in spite of the conditions. It was 2:17pm when we walked in. We were intercepted by a waiter who informed us that the buffet was closed. I had called en route and they told me 2:30 was when the buffet shut down. Granted, I hate to walk in minutes before closing time anywhere I frequent, and rarely do I ever. However, anyone who loves Indian food as much as I do understands this craving. I politely told the gentleman that we drove 30 minutes to eat there, and we would be very quick, pay immediately, and I would no doubt leave a generous tip for their inconvenience. He shook his head and said no, his manager said no, and continued blocking the doorway like an imperial guard . He finally offered to let us take food to-go. My jaw was on the ground, The food was still out, there were people in the dining room eating. This food was no doubt going to be thrown away! Finally, the bus boy offered to get us to-go boxes, as the woman manager stood there apathetically as I struggled with my car seat and bag. Finally, my anger overcame my insatiable craving and I said, "Thanks, but no thanks." I've been coming here for years. They might not know me by name, but I am (was) a loyal, frequent customer who has introduced many a friend and relative. Obviously, they don't need the business and it was of no consequence that we drove out of our way to enjoy their cuisine. I'll tell you one thing for sure, I will drive the additional 15 minutes out of my way to Bombay Brasserie where the food is not only better, but the service has never been anything less than stellar. What an absolute shame.

Pros: Good food

Cons: Not accomodating

.

My spouse and I adore Sitar's buffet which has become a weekly ritual for us. The food is savory and pleasing to the nose and the palate. One could dine entirely on the vegetable dishes from the buffet and be quite satisfied, but don't pass up the delightful lamb and chicken dishes. The rice dessert is delicately flavored and soothing on the tongue.
The staff is friendly and all seem to work hard to make the dining experience pleasant. My hot tea is always replenished in a timely manner--- a rare service in other restaurants.
Thank you Sitar!

Pros: Superb veggies and tender lamb

Cons: My only wish---shredded carrot dessert more often!

I love this place. My boyfriend and I eat here once a week and we love it. Everyone who works there is super-nice. The buffet is fantastic (and I typically won't go near a buffet). Soooo good. Highly recommended.

Pros: Great food, awesome service

Cons: They changed their Chana Masala

Unlike what another reviewer said. "This food is NOT bland." I can't even imagine what kind of food snob he or she must have been. Its my most frequented Indian food restaurant and their service is great and polite. IF you want a truly great bargain go for their lunch buffet on weekends. Only thing is that the location is slightly awkward to get to but thats completely minor.

Have Fun And Live well (you will certainly eat well if you go to Sitar)

I am relatively new to indian food, I had to start eating it when I married my British husband, and I found that the vegetarian dishes at this restaurant were delicious. They were creamy and flavorful and I enjoyed them much more than a carnivore should. I will definately be going back (just perhaps not to the buffet, as we ate entirely too much).

I just moved from Wales, being Britishand all my first priorty was to find a good curry. When i saw Sitar Cuisine of India, i was really happy. so i gave it a try, I went right for my favorites i ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Vindaloo with and garlic nan. Both were a major dissapoint. it was my first time eatin curry in the states so i assumed that it was supposed to be bland and flavorless. If your British and have frequent curry cravings i recommend "The Taste Of India" just across the street, next to that Wolfies. youll find the Tikka Masala just like the one at Balti House in London. all of the curries were like back home. Sitar dissapointed but fortunatly The Taste Of India didnt
