i believe their are great hamburgers there are just people who don't care about their job the site is nice and it is a nice place.

What's up with PappasBurger? Went there last night with the family. Burgers just weren't the same as in the past. Seemed dry, tasteless, and skimpy on the lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc. Onion rings were exceptionally greasy.
Service was quick and attentive as always, but the place wasn't as packed as it usually is on a Sunday evening. Maybe I'm not the first to see the changes. I'm going to Fudruckers nest time I crave a juicy burger. They've never let me down.

Pros: Good service, reasonably priced.

Cons: Burger really sucked this time.

Love it - there is nothing to say that is bad. (Even the ordering process is not that bad - it works we get our food quickly we have never had a problem with the order - even when one of our friends changed their mind at the table!) We do not live in that area of town but will drive over when we are really craving a good burger - they even have healthier options for when someone wants a lighter meal but want to join us for dinner to to watch a game. If you have not tried it - just be careful you will get hooked!

Okay I Love Pappas FOOD and concepts but I was confused! Why would I order first , get my drink, and have a waitress. I am from industry so I get the quick cafe concept but then just have a runner and lets tip the cashier! Other then that the food is great and well seasoned! People who comment on how big it is ...HELLO everything is always big in TEXAS!

i've been there about 6 times in the last 3 years and everytime i go, it's always excellent no matter what time of day. the burgers and fries are always fresh. the only thing i would change is the ordering process. i think that if we're going to have a server, they might as well take our orders too instead of having to order right when you walk in at the counter. it will give the customers more time to think about what they want to order because the cashiers are usually impatient and they keep asking if we're ready to order or not. but other than that, the food is fantastic. the atmosphere can be a little loud especially during games but it can be fun too.

This is the best burger in Houston HANDS DOWN! Their cheeseburger will cure any hangover. The fries are always perfect, crispy and fresh. Try the greek salad. It is big enough to share with lots of feta and big wedges of pita bread. I promise I would eat here every single day but then I would be the size of a house.

It doesn't make any sense- first you walk in and place your order and get drinks at the counter and then you sit at a table and then you have a waiter go over your receipt and then they bring you your food. I would rather pick up my own food then tip a waiter since I already ordered it and got my own drink. It was an average burger joint. A little pricey plus tip for the taste. I've had better. Wouldn't go back because it is pricey and then I don't like that you've done most of the work and all the waiter does is bring you your food.

I went to pappas burger with 4 other friends today, for lunch. the food is realy good, I can't say anything negative about the food,the atmosphere or the cleaneness of the establishment. as a matter of fact I don't understand how any one can say it's not good I have to say that ,the three best burgers I had would be this one, the burger at palios pizza!!! and the 9ers grill. the price is justified I think the price should not matter so much if you get good food. and the idea about thier fries is misunderstood by a lot of pepole, it meant to be not so crunchy as some one discribe it to be, THAT'S the IDEA misssy but Great.

Yes, I do love Pappa's Burger! Great burger and great fries. The fries remind me of the one's my mom used to make. :) The kid's burger is enough for a moderately hungry adult female (you really don't have to eat the regular size one). Try it, and you'll see what I mean. My husband always gets the hickory cheddar bacon burger and my father really enjoyed the catfish. I've tried the chicken fried steak once (huge!). I continue to want to try other things on the menu, but I keep going back to the kid's cheeseburger -- I can't help it, it's my favorite. And, lest I forget, the lemonade is excellent. Enjoy! I forgot to mention: I order the fries WITHOUT the salt. I think they're better this way.

Pros: Good food and lots of it.

Cons: Sometimes it's a little loud inside. There can be a long line during the weekday lunch, so I will try to go around 2pm when possible.

The blue cheese burger was "OMG Delicious". The burger is angus beef and very juicey. The fries are not good. This kind of burger needs huge wedge fries! I had dessert (pecan pie)...taste like they used butterscotch...not my favorite...BUT THE BURGER...OMG...delicious! Good service maybe a little confusing but doesnt take away from the burger

I'd like to start by saying I really do like the Pappas chain of restaurants, especially Little Pappas off Shepherd.
That's why I was so very disappointed. The burgers were very large and cooked to order (medium rare), but they were so greasy I could not finish mine. My girlfriend felt sick from how greasy hers was. The fries were thin cut and soggy from grease. The onion rings were pretty good and the carrot cake cheesecake was good, too. I really hope they straighten things up. Until then, I'll be getting my burgers elsewhere.

I can?t help it I am partial to Lankford Grocery but they have horrible hours. Pappas though is outstanding. Well seasoned beef, HUGE burgers, great milkshakes, nice and friendly service, a million TV?s to watch the game on. I wish I lived a little bit closer. If you want a place better than Fuddruckers go here.

These hamburgers are so good. I love the burger loaded with chili and cheese. It is so messy that you have to use a fork and knife. The shakes are also wonderful and please don't ever tell me the calories in any of this food. Nice place to watch a game and drink a beer.

My husband and I both agree that Pappas Burgers is the place to have the best burger in Houston. Believe me we have tried other burger places but, this place is consistent and great service everytime. He likes to get his fries extra crispy!! The cheeseburger and Blue Cheese burger are amazing!

As others have noted, the fries are not good. The long ones are limp and mushy, the short ones are crisp...very inconsistent.

This place has THE BEST burgers I have ever tastest. HIGHLY recommended!

The service was great, the waiter was adorable (Thanks, Eric!). I would greatly recommend at least one visit!

Though the burger tastes really good, it is overpriced and the atmosphere is loud. The restaraunt organization is annoyingly unclear. You order your meal at a counter where you get a buzzer but later you have a waiter also. Why have a buzzer if you have a waiter. Ordering at the counter and having a waiter should not be combined in a restaurant. I did enjoy their burger. The fries were mediocre as some of them were soggy and not crunchy. I do not think I would go back on my own.

The atmosphere is a little noisy sometimes, but the service is great and the food outstanding. I dare anyone to try to leave Pappa's Burgers hungry! Chicken fried steak is a platter full, with cream gravy my mother would have been proud to serve. The fries are uniformly great, and the garlic mashed potatoes are really tasty. The burgers are two-handers. I never leave without a take away box.

We have finally found the best burger in town. It was simply awesome. Our fries were terrific, don't know about the other reviewers... The whole combo deal was an average of $8.00 per person, not too bad for such a huge portion! The atmosphere is awesome, the waitstaff is very serviable, the overall experience was an A+++ We highly recommend the place for their extensive menu and delicious burgers.

You won't be disappointed with the flavor and size of the Burger. Good menu selection. The fries, however, are lousy: greasy and soggy. I tried sending one order back with suggestions for improvement...but it didn't help. Pappas really needs to go to McDonald's French Fry School to get their act together!

I think the only bad reviews Pappas gets are from competitors. This is the best hamburger in town, salads are also great. I live in Louisiana and visit Houston about 10 times a year, Pappas is always one of my stops.

The salads at Pappas Burgers are the reason I keep going back! The oriental chicken is one of the best I've ever had! I don't really understand the service here (is it cafeteria or at the table?), but the staff is always very helpful and kind.

Had the Best Buffalo Wings here, and the Burgers are great. As with other reviews.... the fries are a hit or miss. The waitstaff has been friendly and knows when to visit and when to stay away. Will be going back again.

We went here after we walked out of Pappas Steakhouse next door because of the horrible service there. This was a great time and the food was wonderful as well. We will go here anytime before the Steakhouse.

Pappas Hamburgers has to be offer some of the worst hamburgers in town, and the service matches the quality of the food. On an off night, when the place was 15% full, we waited over 30 minutes for our burgers. They were terribly overcooked and tasteless. The server never returned until we walked up to the cashier to ask for a bill, and was unapolegetic for making us wait so long. But all of this would have been tolerable if the food had been decent. I have had far better burgers at fast food restaurants, and the burgers are not in the same league as Beck's Prime or Goode's.

Great food but avoid having a lunch meeting here due to the noise. You can hardly here people at the other end of the table. But for a quick lunch with great food that fills you up, stop by, it is worth it.

I am a converted Fudd's fan that really digs the burgers at Pappas! Juicy and not overcooked with loads of fresh condiments. Not being great fans of the traffic in that area, we will drive out of our way to eat here atleast every other week. Now if they would only open one on the west side of town...

Looking for a good burger, I couldn't locate a Fuddruckers but I did spy Pappas Burgers. Like their other restauants, I figured it had to be acceptable.
It wasn't just acceptable, it was Grrreat! Big burgers cooked the way you want it (I like mine medium) and served with fresh cut fries. Topped with only the freshest ingredients, Pappas once again truns the ordinary into the extraordinay!!

Bad marks straightaway as the girl at the front did not ask us how we'd like our burgers cooked. Once we did receive our order, the meat had NO flavor whatsoever and was entirely toooooo greasy. Service was fine once we were seated and liked all the TVs with sporting events... Not worth the money however - food just not good - we'll stick with Fuddrucker's (now I know why this place didn't even make the Top 10 for best burger in Houston).
