We arrived and were told there would be a 45 minute when we were actually seated with in 20 minutes this was the only plus for the restaurant. We were seated right opposite the kitchen door and apparently are table was the main cut though

We have eaten at Joe's Crab shack in a few of different states and as a bonafide Eastern Shore Blue Crab Foodee, expect quality and real freshness from any seafood restaurant. As a rule, I frequent gourmet food establishments around the world. . .but, I like Joe's and I do recommend them for casual get togethers, small parties and family dining if you like 'crab.' Its a fun, casual, "shake the shack" experience especially in the summer time. It definitely beats most well-known food chains and Joe's in San Antonio has a great location on the Riverwalk if you're new or visiting in the area. Unless you're really set on tex-mex, ribs & burgers. . .its a great change of pace to grab a cold beer, people watch and chow down on a crabpot for two!

Pros: Inexpensive; good selection of crab & shellfish

Cons: Chain, service varies according to location
