I came here yesterday with my friend for some piercings. I've been a couple times before but was very impressed this time! I got a nose piercing and my friend got an ear piercing-both for only $40!! The blonde girl Brittany was very sweet and informative. I was nervous about the pain, but she made me feel confidant it wouldnt be bad. I've had infections in my other piercings before and wasn't sure why, but she told me not to use peroxide and recommended a soap I could get at Walmart. So far so good! My friend loves her tragus piercing too. ?I wuold recommend this place to anyone and am bringing in my mom next week. We will both be back again!

Been here many times, you should visit if you want to see good art, want a sick new tattoo or piercing.
They don't have books so come in with an idea or pictures of what you like. The guy at the front was helpful in explaining how they work and how to schedule. I got my ear pierced to match my other one i've had for 10 years since it was only $25. The blonde girl was nice and quick and it dint bleed at all.
They take cash and card, but parking sucks and the coke machine doesn't work.

I've been geoing here for the past few years. I've had 3 tattooes and 4 piercings here. The place is clean, layed back & always a good expereince! The artists are better than anywhere I've been & being a driver, I have lived many places. The piercer I read about is who has done all my piercings; she's always very clean, professional & honest. I saw her have to turn away a piercing because the girl didn't have the id she needed.
Parking can be a hastle, but if a business is busy, there is probably a good reason for it! My family & friends all love it & I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Before getting dermals, I went up to Cat Tattoo to talk to someone about the piercing process. Brittany was very helpful in explaining the piercing and detailed every step that would take place. I went to her to get my dermals; I also went to her a month before to get my septum pierced which was in the perfect place. She was very precise in the positioning of the jewelry and informed me step-by-step exactly what she was doing. I can't imagine getting these piercings by someone who is inexperienced. Brittany-Jo has knowledge in these piercings, and I would highly recommend anyone who is getting dermals to go to her!

I was waiting to get my hair cut next door at Floyd's barbershop last week and decided to stop inside to check out some of the work. I have heard great things, but wanted to see for myself.
I was instantly greeted by a little blonde girl who showed me over to the digital portfolios hanging on the wall. She explained they are a fully custom shop with artists who can execute all styles. My first impression was that it was very clean and friendly. The blonde girl was wiping the windows and cases and a trip to the bathroom proved impressive for a tattoo shop. I'm 46 and have seen a few over the years! The shop was quite busy and all the artists were either tattooing or painting and you could see their stuff on the walls. I thought that was pretty cool, not something I see in a lot of tattoo shops. After a few more questions, she showed me over to the tattoer Memphis, whose styleshe thought was something I was looking for. I told him that I was thinking about doing a dragon on my upper arm but somehow around a really old faded tattoo I didn't like very much. He told me that they also do laser tattoo removal and that a couple sessions would open up my whole arm, so that I could do something bigger and not have to compromise what I really want just because I have an old tattoo there already. It would take a couple months, but I could do it right and be happier with it in the end. He showed me back over to the little blonde girl I talked to earlier who happened to be the person that does the laser. She gave me a lot of really helpful information and seemed to really know what she was talking about. She even pulled out her computer and showed me her personal portfolio. Even with how busy they were they took the time to talk to me thoroughally. Every other place I have been to has tried to get me to sit down right then just to take the money. I really appreciated that they didn't do that and took the time to explain what the best thing was for me and what I really wanted. Since then, I have had my first session of laser tattoo removal and have my tattoo appointment set. I am very excited and just wanted everyone to know how great of an experience I had at Cat's! My experience was nothing but perfect!! Thank you to Memphis and Brittany for the time you took!

I've had two piercings (Snug and Rook) done by Brittany Jo at Cat and have been very impressed with her work. She is very professional and takes the time to go over everything.

I watched her explain to a potential client that getting a spray tan the same day as her piercing was not a good idea (since that person didn't want to clean the piercing afterward for fear of ruining the tan). She very clearly explained the health reasons why that wasn't a good idea. That person went away without a piercing that day, but I was happy to see that Brittany Jo was more concerned with the client's health than with making money. The client was also OK with it and was planning to return later when the spray tan was no longer an issue.

I'm already planning a tragus piercing and a micro-dermal. Will definitely go back to Brittany Jo.

Went in with a tattoo i drew early on a Friday. I was lucky enough to get there in time to get it done that day. Frank Sanchez was the man with the plan. He took my design and polished it off to a pro level, and by that i mean corrected a miss-drawn chinese character, and balanced the 2 fish surrounding it. Completely satisfied with his ART. price was lower than i expected, but dont let that fool you. The Quality and courtesy i received is far beyond what i expected. i would definitely recommend going here. Once again, MAJoR PRoPS to Frank Sanchez for layin down some fine inkwork.

I've had a tat I designed myself done by Aaron Grace at Cat, Brittany Jo did my lobes, and my girlfriend has had work done there as well. I cannot speak highly enough of this place - it is surgically clean and the artists are just that: artists. When I went in on a slow Sunday to initally talk to them, all of the artists there were painting or drawing, refining their craft. It is not a fast-food style establishment, which I think may be the source of some of the complaints - they only do custom designs, and frankly, if you ask for something that is going to look bad, they're going to tell you. Also, I had to make appointments for both my tat and piercings, which makes sense - I mean, would you rather walk into an ER and see a nurse, or schedule an appointment with an actual doctor?

Aaron was both a great artist and a really cool guy. Brittany Jo, the 'little blond girl' so many reviewers are referring to, was
both knowledgeable and a great piercer. During my piercings we talked about everything from endorphin release to the fact that a lot of the negative comments on here are due to people that Cat turns away for coming in drunk and after hours. Also, they offer a full piercing after-care kit (I recommend it) and detailed instructions on how to heal your tat/piercings correctly. Both my ink and lobes look and feel great because I followed their instructions.

Lastly, I recommend to everyone looking for a shop to physically go to the shop and talk to the people who work there. Online reviews are only worth so much. I visited four shops and talked to multiple artists before deciding that Cat Tattoo is head and shoulders above the rest.

Pros: The shop was very clean, when you go on their special days you really can't beat the price.
Always willing to help and give expert advice, they'd never advise doing a piercing that would be difficult to heal, and they let you know if certain ones will be like that.
Cons: I really can't think of any, some complained about the staff but I thought they were all very helpful, I'm younger so maybe that's why, who knows. The only one con I can think of is the parking lot, I have a big truck so it was a little bit of a pain when the lot was near full.

I went to Cat Tattoo a week ago and got a Monroe Piercing. Brittany Jo was my piercer and answered all the questions I had. Brittany Jo explained step by step what she was doing and was very nice. The shop is clean and everyone was nice and helpful. I would recommend this shop to my friends and I will definitely go back.

I received a micro-dermal piercing ( a small implant that goes under the skin with a post sticking up that you attach beads or disks to) below my left eye from the sweetest blonde haired girl named Brittany! She was very patient with the multiple questions I had concerning the steps to follow and listened attentively as I described in detail my fear of what could go wrong. She responded with such a kind and caring grace that immediately my anxiety was subdued. She made sure I was comfortable as she set up her equipment and then proceeded to explain to me what each tool would be used for and what to expect. She was equally patient as I struggled to decide the exact spot I wanted the incision, providing me with helpful information from what was safest to stories of her personal experience with the piercing. Before inserting the needle she helped slow and steady my breathing, and verbally guided me through what was happening. Her confidence and genuine, constant concern for my comfort made the whole thing such a breeze! I don't have to explain how awesome she was with helping me understand the aftercare but I will :) She was very direct and clear about how to clean and take care of my piercing. Following that I was verbally equipped with knowledge of what products work best, what they are made of, and where to purchase them. Brittany wasn't concerned with providing me good customer service, she was concerned with ME. You can't fake compassion, at least not the kind Cat Tattoo provided me with (i.e the kind that gives you the desire to actually go online and write one of these things!) I want the people at Cat Tattoo to know how beautiful it was to see a business see their customers as more than a paycheck. Thanks guys!

I went in about a month ago to inquire about a coverup by Aaron Goolsby. If you look at his work online, you will see why I asked for him. He impressed me because he said he won't compromise and put something on my body that isn't well executed. Size of the tattoo has to do with the form of the body is kind of how he put it. I wish the person that did my origional tattoo (lower greenville) cared that much about what he puts on people's bodies....but maybe if I did I wouldn't be a couple of months away from getting a gorgeous piece. I will submit a review when I get the tat, but I know it's going to be amazing because Aaron is an artist. The shop is clean by the way :-) Check out their website!

I searched the DFW area thoroughly for the artist that would be honest and upfront about the work I want to get done on my back and arms.

My back is a blank canvas but my arms have a few old tats on them. Every shop I went into other than cat told me that covering up the old ones would be no problem. This didn't sit well with me because they are medium sized tats and covering something up is not as simple as looking at it for a minute and saying "yep, no problem." This left me feeling like they just wanted to sell me something.

When I went into cat I spoke with Goolsby and after looking at my old tats and taking into consideration what I was looking to get done he said he would not work on it without getting some removal done first or going full sleeve.

Believe it or not this was music to my ears. Finally someone whose artistic integrity was more important than making a few bucks. I had some laser removal done by Terry and he was very professional and did a great job.

It was at this time that I shared with him my idea for what I was looking to get done and he was immediately excited about it. After that I knew I had found the right artist for the job.

I gave him a print of what I wanted and he got back to me with his sketch that he had done. That was a year and a half ago and every time I look at that sketch it looks as amazing to me as it did the first time I saw it. This has not been a rushed process and Terry has been amazing so far.

Despite the fact that a few people have come into the shop and have seen the sketch and wanted to get it done he has held onto it for me, making it a truly one off piece. He could have sold the design to someone else had he wanted to but he chose not to and that really says alot about his character.

Now we are all systems go and we will start the actual tattooing in a month or so. Im looking forward to the rest of the process.

Cheers,
Thomas

I got my tat at Cat Tattoo 2 years ago on the 25th. It was my Xmas in July present. I was tattooed by a guest artist whose name escapes me and my boyfriend was tattooed by Jeff. We were both EXTREMELY happy with our sessions. This was my first tat and his 2nd. I brought in a rough sketch of what I wanted and the artist told me it was too small, and that most people regret not getting bigger tats anyway. So he drew up an altered design that reflected what I had brought in and I loved it even more than my design. It was a beautiful blue rose with streaming ribbons behind it. I was so excited to be getting this one of a kind tattoo. I felt minimal amounts of discomfort, no pain, and it only took an hour. I have several more tats and piercing I want to do, and I will never go anywhere else. My boyfriends tat was an idea he had nearly 10 years ago. He brought in 5 different pics of what he wanted and described to Jeff what he had in mind. Jeff took his time and drew up several sketches and one of them just happened to be exactly what my bf wanted. He quoted a length of time it would take and it ended up only taking half the time, so we were very impressed with Cat Tattoo. Everyone I came in contact with was extremely nice and friendly. Being my first encounter with anything to do with tattoos, they were very informative and I knew exactly what to expect, and didn't get anything I didn't expect. I work in a salon as a nail tech so I know how important sanitation is, and I inspect everywhere I go. I was very happy with how clean this shop was. Don't fret guys, these idiots who post this crap are nothing more than common, un-intelligent f-ers. We love Cat Tattoo!!

I went in last week to see about having an old tattoo fixed - it was missing some ink and wasn't done very well (had it done at a different place in Dallas). Scott was very helpful and gave me a reasonable estimate on having it redone. I thought about it for a couple of days and decided that I would rather invest in a new piece. Scott was in again when I stopped by and discussed what I wanted with me and set up a time to stop by the next day. He had spent some time with Eddie discussing my new tattoo and decided to hand it over to him since Eddie deals well with smaller tattoos with lot of detail and small lines. He did a wonderful job on something that he's never done before and I couldn't be happier with how he was able to incorporate the new piece with another one. I'll definitely go back and hope that all who are interested in having body art done will at least give them a chance. They are a busy shop but they do wonderful work!

I would HIGHLY recommend Cat Tattoos. I began my tattoo removal process about a month ago and can't wait to get my next treatment. I'm even considering getting another tattoo since going to Cat.

I don't understand what the below comments are talking about when they say they are "rude". I found the 4 guys that were there to be very friendly and funny. While I was waiting, one of the guys had even stopped what he was doing to talk to me about a possible future tattoo. Not something a "rude" person would typically do when there is no immediate money involved.

If you are in the market for a new tattoo or to get rid of an old one, go to Cat tattoos. You will see for yourself how nice and friendly the staff is, how clean the place is and how talented the artists are.

I definitely recommend Cat Tattoo to anyone who's looking to get inked!

I am in the process of getting a scar covered up with a beautiful floral tattoo. And I cannot say enough about my artist. Aaron Goolsby is amazing I have several tattoos but Aaron by far is the best artist ever. I will certainly go back to get more with him. Even if I have to wait moths to get to see him. Highly recommended. :)

I am working on a new piece on my arm and am getting it done by Scott. He has really worked well with me and it very patient and kind. I too paid the $100 deposit for the work up, and am not disappointed! I love what he came up with and could see that he really listened to me and was seeing my vision. Keep in mind, you will find jerks anywhere..we are all individuals. Don't judge a shop by one person...you will find yourself missing out on some great work if you turn away too soon. There is definitely talent in this place.

I went to Aaron Goolsby last November to fix a tattoo I wasnt happy with. The color was dull and there wasnt much shading detail, but after Goolsby worked on the angel wings on my back I was much happier! I received compliments before but even more now. (I was stopped in sephora last week by a guy who said my wings were the first hes seen that werent kinda boring.)I went back to Goolsby for a Fleur De Lis tattoo on my wrist and got more then i expected. The detail is amazing and its obviously the work of a true artist. My friend watching me get the tattoo was even surprised of all the shading and highlights. She told me "when I saw him pulling out more colors i was wondering what he was doing but it looks amazing." It is well worth the money to go to an artist I know is going to give me great results then take a chance on someone risky. Aaron Goolsby is an amazing artist as well as a real professional. Ill be back for the next one!Thank you!

I must say that I LOVE my back tattoo. I had some work done in California, but was not happy. I found Aaron Golsby. We have been working on a cover up job for a year. Its taken some time, but it is so worth the wait. He is a great artist, and I am so happy with my tattoo, it fits my body like he said it would. The colors and the shading look wonderful. Goolsby Rocks!!!!

Aaron Goolsby did a stunningly beautiful, truly professional tattoo on my back. He was able to cover up an old, lame tattoo (by someone downtown) and make it disappear. Placement on the body makes a difference, and this tattoo is really flattering. I love the hyper details, shading, and color. Our consult was cool because he is an artist - he patiently explained lots of styles and what would work best. Goolsby (he said he goes by his last name) drew up everything so I would have an exact, custom design of what I wanted. The day of my tattoo I was a bit nervous because I'm a germ freak and hadn't been tattooed in years, but he was totally sanitary and it didn't hurt anywhere near as bad as the other tats I have. I'm so happy with the tattoo, I highly recommend Aaron Goolsby.

Cat tattoo is a great shop for a piercing or tattoo. Joey, our tattoo artist, was amazing. He is incredibly skilled and was very patient throughout the whole processes. I got a pretty big tattoo especially for it being my first one. It was an array of stars that started at my hip and went up my back onto my shoulder. It took about 8 hours over 2 days to complete but overall it was a great experience. Joey was very detail oriented and put up expertly with my squirming. :)

If your going to get a tat, I definitely recommend cat tattoo and Joey (He's the man).

The future wife and I decided we wanted matching tat's to celebrate our up coming wedding. I read the reviews of Cat Tattoo on here and other sites. I wasn't planning on visiting Cat's due to the reviews. We drove around on Saturday looking at other places. The other studio's must have not wanted to take our money because i couldn't get 1 person to speak to me about what we wanted. I decided we should just go "look" at Cat and see if the reviews were correct about the "rude staff". Well we were they for a total of 2 minutes before Scott asked if we needed help. Now i noticed Scott was in the middle of designing another tattoo but stopped his work to talk to us. We felt a instant click with Scott. We decided right there that Scott was the one artist for us. They were a little busy so we decided to come back a little later. When we got back we gave Scott a sample drawing of what we wanted and he took it back with him and came back with his design which was just what we wanted.

So if you are looking for a great artist and a super clean studio go to Cat Tattoo. Make sure you ask for Scott

Thank you for the great artwork.

I wanted to get my bellybutton pierced so I called around to different places in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. When I called here, whoever picked up the phone was incredibly nice, and very patient when I asked him a multitude of questions, which included: Do you pierce minors? What do i need to bring with me? Does it hurt? He answered yes, they pierce minors, all I needed to bring was a parent, my ID and her/his ID (with our last names matching) and a copy of my birth certificate, and that most of the people that he pierced came to the consensus that it didn't hurt nearly as bad as they had imagined. When I pulled up to the shop I was very pleasantly surprised to find that it was completely sterile, and the people were just as friendly as they had been on the phone. The guy who pierced my bellybutton (Chris) was easygoing and nice, yet completely professional, and there was hardly a wait at all to get down to business! He marked my bellybutton and made sure it was lined up properly and that I liked the position it was at, and pierced it. The whole piercing process (from needle to screwing on the ball) took 15 seconds or less, much faster than I had expected! I was extremely happy with the entire ordeal, and did not run into any problems at all. He explained the after-care process in depth and made sure that I knew how to clean my piercing properly. Overall, I am immensely happy with the results, and could not have had a better experience anywhere else!! I have already recommended Cat Tattoo Company and Chris to several of my friends who are looking to get piercings, and am sure that they'll be visiting soon!

Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing. Like the first monkey shot into space. - Tyler Durden

Over the last 7 years, I got 12 tattoos and spent way too much time in tattoo parlors. Last year, I decided to get a back piece. The artist had to be local, and pretty stable. I didn't want to get half finished and have him get arrested, OD or become incapacitated so he couldn't finish.

I wanted my back to be epic, and searched for the best person for the job. I was introduced to Cat Tattoo @ a convention and got a recommendation from "Joey" a waiter at Addison's Blue Goose.

I myspaced Terry Mayo and asked him to recommend an artist. I like Jeff Ensigner's work and knew the shop owner, who had just released his book "Brain Dookie", would be able to tell me if Jeff could do the work, of if there was an artist of his that would be more up to the challenge.

To my surprise Terry said he was interested in the project himself. I showed up the day before our appt, to check out the shop. He was there and recognized me from one of my existing tattoos. He met with me while he was on break from another piece.

I left a credit card deposit of $100 bucks and didn't hear from him for awhile. He said he was about 3 months out, but would try to work me in. He took my pics drawings and ideas and came back with exactly what I wanted (only bigger). The ironic thing is that my only regret from my prior tats is that they are too small. Terry certainly prevented that from becoming the case.

My back piece took over 100 hours to complete, over 12 months and 24 sessions. You can see the results for yourself, www.cattattoo.com/tattoos/tattoos_32500.html . Terry never missed a session and seemed just as interested in doing a good job as I was.

The shop is custom, so don't be in a hurry or afraid to spend a little dough to get some awesome work.

I was referred here by mom who had gotten her tattoo done here. I got my monroe done in August. The service was amazing and everything was SUPER sterile (and the guy doing my piercing was cool). I reccommend all of my friends to Cat Tattoo. I would not get anything pierced or tatted anywhere else.

We are a custom tattoo studio. If you look at our reviews you can see that clients either love us or find a reason to hate us. It seems only the extremely happy or the extremely mad take the time to write a review. However Im sure after 15 years in business and being the highest grossing studio in the DFW area we are doing something correct. Not everyone can be made happy and not everything a client wants tattooed will make a good tattoo. We try to explain the reasons for this to our clients but not everyone realizes we are trying to get them the best tattoo possible that will also be a good looking tattoo for life. While our process is not for everyone it is for the high end customer looking for a custom one of kind tattoo and that client is educated about the difference between bad tattoos and good tattoos. Look at our work on our website cattattoo com you can see the difference in what we do. If any one is treated in a unprofessional manner please feel free to contact me directly 972-386-9771. I recently had a old cross that needed additional attention and it took me a long time to research the right person to improve my old tattoo. I met with Goolsby on several different sessions, I like that he took his time making sure every peice looked great. Then I had to let my skin heal for the next sessions. Most tattoo artists that I had previously encountered wanted to get my tat done quickly, and they weren't always straight. Aaron took his time and did a great job on the end product. I love it.

Pros: Aaron Goolsby does amazing tattoo work!

Cons: tattoos hurt (duh)

I wanted to get my bellybutton pierced so I called around to different places in the DFW area.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! I went in on 4/25/08, spoke to Terry Mayo, gave him my photos/reference material. He told me it would be a $100 deposit just for him to draw it up (that $100 paid for his time, supposedly) and that it would be 3-4 months at the most for him to get it drawn up. August rolled around, nothing. No drawing, no e-mail or call from him. I did try to keep in contact with him and he had the audacity to tell me that he did send me a drawing. I checked both my e-mail addresses and nothing. So basically this guy, the OWNER of the shop straight up lied to me...Also he told me it would be about $1000 for a piece on my back that only took up a quarter of my back. And I'm a petite person. So, now we're in November and still no drawing. No response to my e-mails and no phone call. I hope this place goes under...

Went to get my tongue and navel pierced with their 2 for $40 deal thing. I made sure to call in beforehand seeing as I'm only 16, and was told I had to bring in my birth certificate and my mom, nothing else was acceptable. no birth certificate, no piercing (she was really rude on the phone) okaaay fine...my dad went SOO out of his way to go to our storage facility 30 minutes away to get it. finally evening rolls around and we head over there, money and birth certificate in hand, THEY NEVER EVEN ASKED FOR THE DAMN BIRTH CERTIFICATE. Then when I went back there, the guy (matt) didn't even give me an opportunity to check the placement on my tongue or stomach. His hands smelled really bad of cigarettes, he was out of the (free) normal navel barbells and I had to pay extra for a lame sparkly one. he paused for more then a few seconds on both of the piercings making it hurt soo much worse, not to mention he had me laying down for my tongue piercing and I almost choked from salivating and bleeding so much with it all rolling down my throat. The only aftercare tips he gave me were (for tongue) "no oral, no making out, and if yer gonna drink, no beer stick to hard liquor" (for navel) "clean it like you would any other piercing" he also never specified if I can go back there and get my long tongue barbell switched out for free or not. I won't even bother to call and ask I'm going somewhere else...

so its Thursday now, my tongue and navel are way more sore then they ought to be, my navel is bright red and just doesn't feel right, I think he took too much skin in the clamp and now its like really tight, hard to explain...

Ugh it was just horrible. I really wish I had gone somewhere else =(

I got my belly button pierced here a couple of years ago, and that went alright, so i went in about a month ago to get my daith pierced but apparently my ear wasn't shaped for that type of piercing. I decided to get my cartilage pierced instead. the person doing it was rude, trying to convince me another piercing would be cuter, and that everyone had it and that i had to be original. i was like, "sir, it's my piercing and i know what i want." the piercing was made more complicated than it had to be, the person piercing it was mean, his hands smelled like cigarettes, the wait was ridiculous, all of the employees were rude. To top things off, my piercing got infected because i wasn't given suggestions as to how to take care of it or what to/not to use to clean it. I had to take it out a week ago. My friend went in there to get a price estimation and they thought they were the most awesome, amazing artists. so snobby and not nice at all, nor friendly.
If you're looking for good service, I wouldn't suggest this place.

I went in to get a price quote and the artist was like "uh, I can't do that. Nah, and walked off" They were rude on the phone and in the shop, not to mention the shop didn't look very clean. I definitely don't recommend it. Try Skin Art Gallery about a block away, they are great =)
