We are entering our 6th season with FFPS, which embraces keeping everything fair and positive for the kids. The pricing is anywhere from half to a third less than other sports in our area. Every team needs to obtain a corporate sponsor or self-sponsor, but there is no fund raising involved AND every kid gets a full uniform (shirt, shorts and socks) and a trophy at the end of the season. The founder of the league is very much involved in the day-to-day with each league and I find him to be quite approachable. His foremost concern is keeping the teams balanced and fair based on age, skill levels, neighborhoods, gender distribution, etc..., so that everyone has a great experience. Fun is ultimately what it's all about and FFPS delivers!

FFPS Soccer is the greatest non-competitive organization for the whole family. The kids not only have a great experience with being on a soccer team, their parents also get to be positive role models for the kids. All kids get to play regardless of ability including special needs children. Parents can be coaches and are trained and do not have to have soccer experience. Every child gets a trophy. I have six kids playing in this league and they love it. They have more self confidence and look forward to practices and games.

FFPS was the most positive program for all 3 of my kids. They were treated with respect by coaches, parents, and players. They got to play, guaranteed. They met many nice friends who remain friends today. As parents we met some very nice people who we became good friends with. Special needs players were included on regular teams and I witnessed many positive situations that were so respectfull to Special Needs plyaers. Kids who would be left out were accepted and included and treated with so much respect and positive self esteem building. The coaces are so respectful and positive, too. The player behavior is amazing. The play is so fun to watch as the players play with onl 5 per team and on smaller fields for so much ball contact for every player. The equal play rule and play every position rule helps ensure fairness for all. And parents are so positive and taught to say go, good, great, nice before thgey say anything else. The founder has instilled a unique environment for the whole family!

My children love FFPS. Everyone plays equal time and all the positions. The coaches and parents are positive. Everyone gets a trophy. The kids keep score. My children met new friends. This is what youth sports should be all about; fun, fair, and positive. Even when my kids got older they loved it. No tryouts, too. Everyone gets to play, and be respected.

I heard wonderful things about FFPS so when I signed up my child & they contacted me later saying they were short coaches I said sure. My complaint is we are at the Spring/Klein coaches meeting. Everybody knows full well major rain and thunderstorms/hail are on the way. Instead of using the 90 mins before the rain to explain what we need to know, they are painting fields. It is pouring rain, gusty winds & are left standing under an overhang. This is insane!! There should have been a plan for a rainout!

If this is any indication of how the Spring/Klein league operates I will not be continuing. And also I was informed there will be no access to a bathroom while here, what is that all about? Children as young as 4 will be playing and no bathroom INSANE!!

My sons have been playing FFPS for about 8 years now, and I have coached for 7. It's a great league for the kids to get out and play. I disagree with some of the earlier comments regarding competitiveness; the league tries to keep the parents from being competitive, but the kids are always going to be competitive. Although there's no official score, and trophies for all, the kids always know who won, and even at the upper age levels they always try their best. Another thing I like about it is the 5-a-side format on a small field -- the ball moves quickly from one side to the other, and all the players stay involved in the game the whole time.

My older son started at age 7 and is still playing at age 12 and he loves it. My younger son has also now played several seasons. I have coached most seasons and filled other volunteer roles as well. It's great that all players get equal playing time, positive reinforcement, make new friends and get a trophy. It is a joy to coach in this system! FFPS makes it easy to focus on encouraging each child regardless of ability and skill level. It really is FUN!

A great organization! I've coached for the last three seasons, and my wife for the last four seasons. Our kids love it, and coaching is a joy. FFPS makes volunteerism easy, providing a "cookie cutter" approach that takes the guesswork out of how to coach, be a team manager, paint lines, distribute brochures, and the many other jobs required to make this organization successful.

The founder is absolutely passionate and dedicated to making soccer enjoyable for ALL kids, and uses all forms of cunning and clever tricks to achieve that goal.

As for the applicability to all age groups, what works for the youngest players also works just as well for the oldest. It's about playing soccer and players touching the ball. The structure of the games and design of the rules and soccer fields are such that players, both young and old, get to PLAY - and THAT is how they improve.

Highly recommended!

My son has played FFPS for 3 seasons now and absolutely loves it! I've coached 2 seasons and have been a head volunteer 2 seasons. It's great fun and I recommend this league to any parent that wants to see their child's self esteem hit higher levels. All players get equal playing time, positive reinforcement, new friends and trophies!! I do agree as they get older and if you want the competitive edge then switch to competitive soccer. As youngsters or if you are not worried about the competition, stick with FFPS because its a great organization founded by an awesome individual!

My kids started playing FFPS when they were 5 years old, and ten years later, they are still playing and having a great time! The teenage players love it as much as the little ones, if not more, for all of the reasons FFPS was created: they ALL get to play, they ALL have fun, and it's a great and positive experience for everyone. A+!

I would not recommend this program to anyone. From the beginning the founder of this so called fun league has been a complete pr_ck. His rude and arrogant attitude has my family and friends wishing we had never contributed to this money making scheme. Oh and trust me they don't care if you complain, they already have your money. I hope you will not subject yourselves especially the females to his derogatory and demeaning comments.

We participated in FFPS for three seasons with wonderful experiences. However, during our fourth season, we encountered a coach that didn't seem to care for female players (it is a coed league) and made very discouraging and negative remarks toward my daughter. We contacted the Division Coordinator and complained, after all it is "Fun Fair Positive Soccer." We requested a team change. The team change was denied with 6 open slots still available. The Division Coordinator was very nice and easy to work with. She informed me that the decision came from above. I attempted to speak with the Executive Director about the denial of the request for team change. He could not have been more rude and unprofessional. He gave me a lecture on my parenting skills and even hung up the phone on me. I guess the lesson is, this league is positve if you have a good coach, but if you don't, they really don't want to hear from you (even though their published Parent Manual states differently).

All 3 of my kids played FFPS till 18. I coached, too. I really enjoyed the relaxed and positive atmosphere. Little or no stress. Just FUN. The kids had a lot of fun in FFPS. They met many new friends. As we did. Some of which they and we still have today. Very positive for our whole family. They got to play equal time and play all the positions. Everyone got a trophy. No worring about whether my kid would get to play or yelled at. FFPS guarantees equal playing time and coaches are taught to be positive as are parents. And, they use smaller fields and less players on the field so the kids get the ball a lot. I highly recomend FFPS.

Last spring my then 5 year old played soccer with FFPS. It was jsut what she needed. They do not promote winning or losing, but rather playing and having a good time. My daughter was timid and reserved in the beginning, but once seh realized she didn't have to be good at it, she really started to enjoy it. By the end of the season she was asking about playing again. This year she is much more confident in team sports and I believe it is because she was able to learn how fun sports can be without the pressure to win.

I had the privilege of learning about Fun Fair Positive Soccer several years ago. The league is everything the name says ? Fun, Fair and Positive Soccer.

They offer a unique play system in which each player rotates positions on the field, giving kids the greatest soccer experience! The website helps to keep the communication fluid and coordinate practices and games among the parents. We can even upload our own pictures to the Team Website. Awesome!

The kids have a great time and everyone gets a trophy and uniform. What a deal!

The coaches and parents are positive (yelling is discouraged). Don't kids just want to kick the ball around anyway? I personally never enjoyed the angry coach and parent mentality. It just never seemed to have a place with the younger ones. Thanks for a great experience!

Hats off to FFPS!

Pros: Communication, Technology, Passion for Positive Sports Experience

Cons: No dogs allowed on the field

I played for many years as a kid. I maybe liked it the first year, but for the other years I rememeber it being boring. There was little incentive or motive to win because it did not matter if you won or not. Basically if you want your child to become competitive and great for soccer, I wouldn't recommend this. If you just want your kid to be outside or active, then by all means, go ahead.

PROS: Trophies for all!
CONS:

I joined this league when I was a kid, and it had good things and bad things.. FFPS stands for "Fun Fair Positive Soccer" and it's great for very young kids but as you get older you want the competition (they don't really believe so much in 'keeping score'). FFPS gets a bit cheesy as you get older but for small kids (under 10) it's great since every player gets a trophy and every team is a winner.. If you want serious sports and competition, join a different league.
