After reading all of these phenomenal reviews, I decided to give this neighborhood spot a try and could not be more dissatisfied with the quality of food. You are better of going to a chain than to waste your time and money here.

I love Los Cucos, and always have. But the one thing I have to comment on, is they always have so many servers on hand, and it kind of freaks me out. That's a lot of people coming near me, and my food.

Pros: Pretty much everything

Cons: TOO MANY SERVERS ALL THE TIME

Food is great!!!! My hands down favorite Mexican food place but..... I'm sorry service usually stinks.I hate it because I always want to go there but dont' want to hear my husband complain about the service the whole time. Seems like when you sit down they know they have you so they don't care about service. Especially don't sit in bar.

Today was my first and last visit to this "Mexican" restaurant. I ordered the fish tacos which were described as having handmade corn tortillas. The tortillas were corn alright but definitely not handmade. I could have bought those at the store. The fish on the taco was not very tasty. I substituted rice and beans for the rice soup. The rice was plain white rice with corn in it instead of mexican rice. There were three or four servers for my table. I don't know why. It was very confusing. The servers spoke English but did not understand English, although they were nice. Very frustrating. Two of the four servers removed food and drinks from the table without asking if we were finished. Overall, the price I paid was not worth the experience. This restaurant is very disappointing for The Woodlands. I do not recommend it.

My wife always orders one of the stuffed avocadoes. I prefer the Las Ricas enchiladas. These are always great!
The tamales, quesadillas and fajitas are also very tasty.
The red and green salsas seem to be handmade in the restaurant, as they are a little different each time, but always terrific with their excellent chips.
Great Margaritas, and good cold beer.
The waiters are professionals, most of whom have been working here for years. They remember us when we come in, and frequently anticipate our desires.
What more could you want.

Pros: Friendly staff; Reliably great food; Affordable prices

Cons: Can be very crowded and noisy

Stuffed avocados anyone?! YEs, they are GREAT! A reason to live. Their food is always delightful but the service tends to change alot. The first time I was there I got excellent service but some other times the waiter has forgotten about us. :-) I still love the food!

Pros: Stuffed avocados... YUM!

Cons: Service is not very excellent at times

I thought the food was bland and unremarkable. The only memorable part of my meal was the cockroach running across the table. The waiter was unimpressed when told about the cockroach, I don't think it was on their priority list to take care of the problem. The smell of burnt beans can be smelled for miles around this place.

Yuck.

The second best kept secret in the Woodlands (#1 is Sakekawa)!! Los Cucos is well known to Aggies (as there is a sister restaurant in College Station), and, lucky for us suburbanites, there is another here in north Houston. The pre-dinner chips and salsa are great...every meal is accompanied by a mild-hot salsa which is served warm and a creamy avo/tomatillo salsa. The service is good...and if you arrive for happy hour ask about the $2 margaritas!! Los Cucos isn't necessarily romantic, but if you're in for some good Mexican before a show at the Woods Mitchell Pavillion or some other event up in the Woodlands, this place is a must!

Los Cucos Mexican Restaurant is one of our favorite Mexican food restaurants. It is located in the Panther Creek Shopping Center next to Randall's. We always get good service here at great prices. Portions are so large, my husband and I always share a meal rather than ordering separately. If you go at peak times, you may have to wait a bit, but they are usually very quick.

I like all of the Los Cuco's restaurants. No MSG ! (monosodium glutemeate ) Big plus. Could use better seating for large crowds. Our church group goes there occasionaly.

We went here on last Saturday night and we were in and out in 45 minutes. The food was piping hot, drinks were refilled before they were completly empty and several waiters stopped to ask if there was anything we needed, not just our waiter.

A coworker and I decided to stop in for lunch. We found that we had lots of reasonably priced choices for lunch. We were seated right away. The service was quick. The food was fresh hot and tastey.

Pros: Inexpensive

While I didn't bring my .22 as the last reviewer suggested, I did bring my appetite. The fajitas just don't disappoint! This is by far the best Mexican food in the Woodlands area (I know it's pretty vanilla up here but it would be good anywhere). Try the magaritas and let loose.

Pros: Easy Parking, Good for parents, inexpensive

Deep in the heart of the Woodlands, nestled in the suburbs, lies a restaurant called Los Cucos. Los Cucos is reknowned for one thing. Fajitas. That is what i order. Tasty. That is what they are. If you're out in the Woodlands, illegally hunting songbirds with your .22 or whatnot, stop by and your stomach will thank you later.
