i called in to geico insurance today to check and see if a previous quote given was still in the system. i spoke to dan white who told me the quote was and he immediately wanted to write the policy. i told him i would not get the policy until oct.9 and he suddenly blurted out that i would have to get my licence within 30 days and i told him i was informed by the first agent of that and he then demanded to know if i would have my license. i told him i planned on having it but the courts wanted me to have the sr22 first and then the judge would determine my fines. i told him i had to pay the fines and because i did not know what they were i could not speak in the affirmative because i needed to know what they were. he became angry at this and said he needed to speak to his manager. i was still wondering how i was still on the phone when all i wanted to know was if the quote was still valid. that was my only question. i had already answered all the questions on the last call and by this time mr. white was very rude. mr. white came back to the phone and stated his manager said they were declining to write me insurance. i only had a quote. i asked why. i then asked to speak to his manager. his manager, mr. eric asche came on the phone and was equally rude and he started to demand for me to say unequivically if i would have my license in 30 days. i told him i hoped so and this wasn't good enough for him and he suddenly blurted out they were declining to write me. my entire family is with geico and i couldn't understand how a call regarding a quote turned into this. these guys were trying to sabotage me. point blank. it was nothing but sabotage.

i called back and spoke to a man named john and explained to him what happened and he pulled up my information and said "oh yeah, we can't write you insurance until you get your license. but i needed the sr22 to get the license and it was already approved until they got angry". i asked to speak to a manager and he said he didn't have one. i know people working at geico and they all have managers. i then asked for the number to the corporate office and he said he "didn't feel comfortable giving that to me" and then stated "you are on google. pull it up. its on the internet". i was shocked at not only his behavior but the behavior of mr. dan white and mr. eric asche. they seemed like the customers just don't matter at all.

i hung up and called back and spoke to chandra maday who seemed geniunly appalled how i was treated and apologized but she sent me right back to eric asche. when i spoke again to eric asche he changed his tune and said they would "work with me" and that he simply wanted me to give affirmation i would have my licence in 30 days. i was still shocked they were "demanding" to know this as the very first agent who i spoke to simply stated it and left it at that. i told him yes. then he said "well i am running your motor vehicle report from tenneseee to make sure nothing else had come up". this was the weirdest customer experence i had ever had with an insurance company. he told me he worked the texas region but he took such an interest in me to run my report again to "double check" even though it was for tennessee.

this was nothing but sabotage and harrassment and intimidation. nothing more or less. i can't believe gieco is letting people like this rule the roost. i just put a complaint on facebook as well and my complaint was one of dozens i saw all regarding customer service.

i need to speak to someone about this. my entire family is covered with geico insurance and i am ready to tell them all to cancel thier policies and go elsewhere. no company employee should get away with treating people like this and forcing people to have to file all their complaints online because no managers are available.

Summary: The driver and two passengers were told by Geico to replace property lost in an accident and that reimbursement would follow. After purchase of non-refundable replacement property, Geico decided that none of the parties were actually entitled to compensation, and admitted to the misinformation. Geico refuses to correct their mistake, and therefore I am out $1500. The level of customer service throughout this ordeal was poor: I placed over 20 calls to Geico, while only receiving three in return.

Long version: In late January, I was involved in an auto accident as a passenger. While the driver's car was being towed from the wreck site to the nearest garage, the rooftop storage unit separated from the vehicle and was lost, along with property belonging to all three passengers totaling nearly $2500. The next day, the driver and both passengers received a call from a Ms. Laura Smith at Geico, stating that our personal property would be replaced under the driver's policy. We each took down a transcript of the call, where we were told that the missing property could be replaced in one of two ways: 1. Upload receipt documents for each piece of gear that was lost, and a check will be issued with a reimbursement of the cost. 2. Purchase replacement items with personal funds, and upload the receipt in order to receive immediate reimbursement. I asked for these statements to be sent to the three of us involved in writing. Ms. Smith explained that it would be mailed out immediately. In the meantime, I needed immediate replacement of the lost items, so I purchased them locally and uploaded the receipt. Weeks began to pass with no reimbursement, despite weekly calls to Geico. Three separate times I was informed that checks had been issued, but then later came to find out they had been denied by managers. I was never informed when these checks were denied. Additionally, none of the involved parties received the statement in writing regarding the replacement of lost items. After two months had passed, the case was transferred to a different claims agent, Jordan Isabell. After several weeks of no contact despite leaving several messages, I received a call from Jordan stating that previous Geico agents had made a mistake, and there would be no compensation for any of the items lost during the accident. Ms. Isabell admitted that we had received incorrect information from within the company, but that Geico was not liable to correct this mistake. The items purchased totaled $1408, and are non-refundable.

The insurance so far has been fine, but the customer service reps. are hardly anything to be proud of. In emails they can hardly speak english, type in all capital letters and use words such as "u" "r" and so on. It is quite annoying and unprofessional. How can you get anything done if you can't understand anything they are talking about?

I would like to say that I moved to Texas from Massachusetts just so I can get GEICO insurance. The rates up north are killer. Geico has reasonable rates with a no hassle customer service outfit. Thanks GEICO!

Asked for a quote from them. Gave them all my information and received a quote much lower than my insurance and the lady I spoke with said I needed to cancel my insurance 30 days in advance which I did. After I faxed a cancellation letter to my insurance company and phoned them back, I got another lady instead of the one I originally had, and she said well whoever quoted me my quote didn't put in correct information and my new quote was 200.00 more than what I had been currently paying. Had to rush around and find new car insurance. Would not recomment Geiko to anyone.

Me and my boyfriend both use Geico. We both love the fact that you can pay online. Geico also offers excellent cheap rates. I haven't had to submit a claim so I am not sure how they rate in that area.

Our insurance dropped a hundred bucks by calling them. We have had nothing but perfect service from customer service. No haggling phonecalls like other places. They are nice and to the point. Always helpful.

I called Geico for a car insurance quote. They advertise a response within 24 hours. After 48+ hours I still had not heard from anyone and had to call again. They had very few agents authorized to write policies in my state. When I did get a quote it was $215.00 higher than what I currently pay.
Their commercials are stupid.

I called Geico for a quote and got a quote of $175 cheaper than i was paying for aotu insurance, then I called for boat Insurance and got a quote $300 less then what I was paying.
