I went to Mark after receiving a botched cut and tacky looking color from a popular Dallas salon. Feeling down about the look (and not to mention the wasted
$$$) I called Mark. He was booked solid, but could sense how desperate I was due to some important work commitments around the corner.

Mark stayed late the next evening to accommodate my schedule & accomplished what I consider a hair miracle! By really listening to what I wanted and using his color expertise, he was able to alter my poor color job and transform my locks to a natural, shiny color. Next, he took the time to run through my head of hair strand by strand and fix the botched cut job while preserving the length. The result was increased movement and volume. l am so happy with the outcome - exactly what I wanted before the bad experience I had gone through prior to visiting Mark's Studio 23. Definitely will be claiming Mark as my new stylist!

Pros: Color and cut correction

Today was my 1st visit with Mark and this will be the 1st time I have ever commented after ""just one visit"". Mark did an absolutely fantastic job coloring my hair (well, truth be told, correcting what I attempted). He gives you ALL of his attention and makes suggestions but never tries to ""oversell"" or make you feel dumb about what you tried on your own.
Mark is so personable. He is one of the few hairstylists I can honestly say I have enjoyed talking to and listening to. His sincerity and genuine concern to give you exactly what you want is undeniable.
I will definitely recommend him to my friends and co-workers and was sure to make my next appt before I left. He is unique and talented and not over-priced that you have to blink and catch your breath when you find out what it costs. I am one happy client.

I haven't been in Dallas very long. I tried a salon in uptown and found that location & status are nothing when looking for a stylist (after years of the same stylist in LA). My old stylist told me to look for someone who uses Matrix, so I researched from that standpoint and found Mark. Mark spoke on the phone with my previous stylist to get formulas/colors that she had used and did a wonderful job. Mark is very personable and it's obvious that he really knows his business. I also really like the way he styled my hair afterwards, I have always gone home & restyled my hair in the past.

Mark Young has been doing my hair for 20 years. Over these many years, hes taken me through short, spiky styles to long, flowing layers and everything in between! This entire time hes also been coloring my hair. Weve been through highlights, lowlights, semi-permanent color, to finally permanent color to cover that stubborn grey! Mark is very knowledgeable about hair, hair products, and chemical processes. My hair is challenging in that it is very thick, coarse texture, and wavy; if left on its own it would rival Bozo the Clown! But Mark knows exactly what hair styles, hair lengths, products, and styling methods are best for me to enable me to manage my mane into a beautiful style that is both flattering and head turning. If Mark can manage my hair, he can manage anything! Weve had some great conversations over the first 20 years and I look forward to the next 20 with Mark. I consider Mark to be not only an awesome hairdresser, but also a good friend. \r

I have very long ,thick hair . Most stylists don't seem to even want to tackle my hair let alone highlight it. I've always had to pay a little extra because my hair is so long and thick ,I understand \r
and am happy to, because my hair takes more time and product. But in the past I would have to listen to the stylists in Dallas complain through the whole service. I hated going to get my hair done because I always felt guilty, like I was really putting them out. Not any more, I love getting my hair done with Mark in Dallas, I have a great time and leave with beautiful hair every time ! I have been a client of Mark?s for approximately 25 years. Every since my very first visit in 1984 he has worked with me to get great results from the ?big hair-perm days? of the ?80s to the trendy styles of the ?90s to the more sleek, sophisticated styling of more recent years. He is great at all of this. He takes the time to help me review different looks (either via pictures or just visual/verbal consultations) to help determine what works best for my face shape and hair quality. He is great at colors too. I?ve had highlights of different colors (from a burgundy to blonde and back to solid dark brown). I have NEVER been disappointed! I consistently get compliments from family and friends/co-workers on my cut/color. I?ve even had total strangers come up and ask who does my hair! I can honestly say that there were a few times I walked in with a style in mind and after talking to Mark realized that that style wouldn?t really work for me and my styling habits, however Mark worked his magic and gave me something better than I had in mind and that would work for me. Mark?s personality makes it a joy to go see him in addison. He is always positive and happy. There are also been a few times where my schedule prohibited me from making my appointment, but Mark has worked with me to get in at the next possible time that works for both of us. He consistently goes out of his way to make sure I get a great cut/color/style that works for my schedule, both in terms of the time of the appointment and in my styling habits. I went to Mark Youngs Hair Studio in Addison a few weeks ago for a little color correction. I had had a miscommunication with my regular stylist so it was just easier to get this fixed elsewhere. I known of Mark and that he specialized in Color Correction in Addison, so I gave him a call. He cleared a slot for me the next day and he got to work on my hair. The correction he did along with the stack style hair cut was fabulous! His studio is private and Mark is very easy to talk to and really cares about my final outcome. I feel like Mark will allow me to say if I am unhappy with something and he will not get upset like other stylist. If you are looking for a great cut AND color, or need color correction call Mark in Addison, he is fantastic!

Mark Young has been coloring and cutting my hair for the past 3 years. I moved to Dallas 3 years ago and needed to find a hairstylist and someone who was good at coloring. Just so happened, Mark had his card set up in our mail room and I gave him a call because it said he was a cut/color/texture Specialist. From the first time I had my hair done with Mark I have not been disappointed at all. Mark is very good at what he does!! \r

I have been getting my hair cut by Mark for several years in Dallas. I have hair that grows in all directions and I like it very short. Most stylists have left me with hair that looked ragged and ?spiky? in all the wrong places. Mark cut it right the very first time and has always done an exceptional job as a hair stylist. He has occasionally lightened my hair, since he also is exceptional with hair color(for some reason I want to be blonde?for about a month and then I am finished with it for a couple of years) and every time it has been a perfect color. To top it off he is really nice, and lets you talk about yourself the whole visit, he even seems interested! I highly recommend him and if you can drive to Dallas, do it ! ( actually I think he may be in Addison now, but borders Dallas) Give him a try, you won?t be sorry.\r

I would like to start off by saying that it is not often that I encounter exceptional service, specifically when that service can completely turn your day, month or even year into a good one. Without trying to be melodramatic, I think everyone can agree that a good haircut or hairstyle can completely change one?s outlook on life. I have had the pleasure of having my outlook changed for the better for the last 18 years having known Mark Young (stylist and remarkable hair corlorist in Addison). I have literally had every type of hairstyle known and with each one, have had nothing but praise from others. Mark has a way of getting me to try new looks but is sensitive to my need to blend with others. How he is able to accomplish that is remarkable and still baffles me. Let?s just say that I stand out in a very good way. Regardless of where I have lived, I have always traveled to Mark and always will. Almost 10 years ago, I first started as Mark?s client at the recommendation of a friend and have been going to him ever since. Mark's understanding of the chemical reactions of hair treatment is extensive but it is surpassed by his talent for coloring, cutting, and styling hair. I love to change my hair style: grow it out, cut it off, curl it, and color it. Rarely have I had the same style and color for longer than 6 months. Mark has a talent for taking a style that you like and adapting it to your hair texture and face. I trust Mark to provide me with a new look, ( color, cut stylr, anything) letting him do whatever he thinks will look good and I have never been disappointed. Mark is a professional that really listens to what you say and provides suggestions of what will work for you and, even more importantly, what may not work for you. I live about an hour from Mark?s studio and would not think of going to anyone else. Mark?s great styles not only make my hair look good, but make me feel good too, I get compliments on my hair on a regular basis. Mark, I hope you don?t ever retire or move away!
