I went here for the first time because I passed it every day on my way to work and it looked absolutely adorable. As soon as I walked in the door I felt welcomed and relaxed. The receptionist was super nice and helpful in scheduling an appointment within a few days! When I came in to see Amie for a cut, she not only listened to what I wanted but walked me through exactly what she was doing. I loved the cut and it has lasted 3 months and I'm still getting complements! She is so talented and sweet I can't wait to come in again!

I get so many complements since my haircut with Christina. Before, I had long wavy hair, all the same length, and it just sat there being limp and sad. Then she sculpted it with layers, and now I have beautiful red ringlets that shine softly all day long. I don't even have to blow dry it. I just wash it, and it looks amazing. Plus, she is so nice and friendly and caring. She really takes time to listen to what you want, blow dry it and neaten it up. Giving you a good haircut is as important to her as it is to you. She brings a level of dedication, friendliness and artistic perspective that makes getting a haircut a truly pleasurable experience .

what a wonderful experience...i traveled to Austin Tx from MS and had my hair done by my old stylist, Dave Bain. I look and feel as young as I did the last time he did my hair (almost 20 years ago!) If only he'd move back to MS...

I live in NYC but I'm from Austin so I come frequently you would think I could find a decent hair cut in NYC, well I haven't. Ronnie the owner is amazing! this is the best cut I've had in years. I'm getting compliments from strangers!

I have been having my hair cut and colored by Amie Simpson for over 10 years. I have followed her to Vitali.

Amie and Vitali are a perfect fit. The salon is professional--staffed by knowledgeable people who enjoy what they do.

The Vitali experience is light, airy, and very well run. You can *feel* that this is a place where the staff gets along and respect one another.

Vitali is lucky to have Amie. She always makes my experience to the salon fun. She listens to what you want, and is not afraid to make suggestions that you hadn't considered.

I leave feeling refreshed, happy, and looking a lot better than I did when I came!

I have long hair and have noticed that past stylists don't want to take the time to give me a good cut - most just want to give me the sixteen-candle-molly-ringwald treatment. That wasn't even a good looking cut in the 80's, not to mention now. My sister-in-law had Kathy do our hair and makeup for her wedding...and I was impressed! I love Kathy's talent, style and attitude. I left my hoity-toity, north austin, aveda salon, of 5+ years, for Kathy Miller - and I am an extremely loyal client. Kathy has done my hair and makeup for family photos and special occasions. I always get compliments - she is truly an R-teest. I highly recommend her! Thanks, Kathy!

I've been going to Vitali Salon for almost four years now and I would not go anywhere else. And trust me I tried once and was sadly disappointed! Vitali Salon has a great location on 6th street and I never have a problem parking for free. The atmosphere is relaxing, everyone is really nice and they play great music. I see the owner for my hair needs but all of the stylists are wonderful and I recommend anyone of them. The most important thing is that I trust my stylists and can even run with his suggestions and know that I'm in the best hands in Austin!! Check them out ASAP!!!

Ronnie, the owner, has been my hair stylist for over 25 years. During all those years, I have constantly gotten compliments on my wonderful haircut and color. I have been told, that at work, when someone wants to identify me, they say she is the one with the "great haircut." The atmosphere is welcoming and fun. When my daugher got married, Margaret and another sylist did her and her bridesmaid's hair. The girl's hairdo's were beautiful and all of Vitali Salon joined in the merriment of such a joyous occasion. (My daugher has been a client since she was 4 years old.) My hair appointment is something I greatly look forward to. There are several reasons. One: I get to see my friends at Vitali and enjoy a peaceful experience. Two: My hair ALWAYS looks fabulous!!

I found John like many of us do, "Who cuts your hair?" I asked a co-worker and friend about 3 years ago. The answer, "it's this really cool guy, John Hebert, who gives a great cut and listens to what you want, then does it!" Imagine that. I have never turned back and have followed him to Vitali Salon on 6th street. A great atmosphere, friendly stylists and always an amazing cut. My daughter and several of my friends go to him as well. Vitali Salon is by far the best downtown salon. It has a relaxed atmosphere, with friendly and knowledgeable stylists who deliver fantastic results. I have been a faithful client for many, many years! I recently started taking my son there for his haircut (he's 11) and he was amazed and mesmerized watching Ronnie's scissor work... for the first time ever, he loves his hair! I highly recommend this salon to anyone!

we'll find a place together....I've been going to Vitali Salon since 2002, after a friend convinced me to stop driving to Houston to get my hair cut. Now, several members of my family go there. Ronnie, totally awesome, is a great and creative hair stylist/designer. My color and cut is always perfect when I leave, even when we try something new! My husband gets his cut from Nancy who is also awesome. The atmosphere is very cool, relaxing, yet dynamic. Check it out ...You'll love it!

I have been going to Vitali for almost 5 years and they are one of the coolest places in town. Everyone there is so friendly and fun you feel like you are hanging out at a friend's house that just happens to have a bunch of chairs there for hair styling. I see Matt who is just SO Austin, a very mellow and cool character who knows how to wield those scissors. He and the rest of the crew there really know their stuff and make you feel right at home. Can't say enough good stuff about them. Go, discover, experience what Austin cool is all about.

Have been looking for the perfect hairdresser for ever, and i have found him. he REALLY listened to every thing i had to say, he asked questions about how much effort i was willing put in to my hair and he created the most perfect color and style for me , i have had several people ask me who cut my hair . that makes me feel great. I have two of my friends changing their hairdressers to try him. The salon is so cute and every body is very friendly, Carnt wait to go back.

I have been fortunate enough to have had David Bain as my stylist for the last 10 years. He has ALWAYS provided me with a solid cut and very natural looking colour. I get constant complements on my hair and I am always quick to give David credit.

Before moving to Austin I have lived in and had my hair styled by top talent in Vancover, Toronto, and London. Based on my experience, David's talent as a stylist is as good as it gets.

Oh BTW, he gives the "best shampoo in Austin" as published by Austin Chronicle.

Kathy Miller is great!!! I found her through a personal referral when I was suddenly without a hair stylist. She was able to work me in for an appointment at my earliest convenience. I was a bit anxious about my cut and color---she immediatley put me at ease---she is very sensitive to your specific needs and passionate about making the cut/color perfect!!! It was the best first time hair experience I've ever had and truly the best cut/color I've ever had. I will definitely go back and give referrals to my friends!!!

Another big plus---she is very flexible in her hours to meet your scheduling needs.

My husband and I have been having our hair cut by Matt Hyder for the last 5 years at Vitali Salon and before that at some salon I do not remember the name of. Matt is awesome! He is really skilled at cutting our hair and he is so damn funny and witty and is also a great source of referrals to good eats in Austin, good movies, and even where to purchase a sauna online. Neither my husband nor I are very style conscious but Matt always makes us look great. The last time we were there, he was still working with a teenage girl and she and her mother were moved to tears by the great style Matt gave her. Go see Matt! Vitali salon is a very comfortable place with really friendly stylists and great magazines. It's also not a chi chi salon at all which I really appreciate. Ronnie Vitali is the owner and many of the stylists have worked there for years which really says tons about his character. I don't think I will have to follow Matt to the ends of the Earth because Vitali such a great fit for him--and for us. Ronnie also does all the remodeling himself. Check out Vitali!

Look, I'd really like to give Kathy Miller a good review (she deserves one after giving me a fantastic haircut every single time I've gone to her year after year after year--she's truly an artist), but if she gets too many positive reviews, then you and all of your friends will call and she'll be booked up and I'll have trouble getting an appointment. So don't go to Vitali, or if you must don't schedule with Kathy. Go to that haircut place in Highland Mall. You can probably get a super cut there while you chow down on a cinnamon roll. Then put your bathrobe on backwards, snuggle down into your couch cushions, tune in to a daytime t.v. show, and never leave your house again.

Christina Rassizi is great! She listens to your personal requests--gives you the hair cut that you want and knows what works best with your facial features, etc. She spends time getting the style right, provides great customer service. I receive countless comments about my hair after I've been to see Christina. I've been seeing her over a year, and would highly recommend her.

I have had my hair cut at Aziz, Wet, ect. I came across Kathy at Viali Salon, she paid so much attention to detail that it seemed she was creating a masterpiece. When she was done, I was amazed and I don't really see myself letting anyone else touch my hair again. Thanks Vitali & Kathy for your expertise and attention to customer service.

Vitai alone is enough, but if you're lucky enough to have your hair worked on by Kathy, it won't matter if you're under a bridge. She sets the tone with her personality and raises the bar for other stylists with what she can do with shears. I can't even think about going to someone else now that I know how it's supposed to be. The only concern is hoping she never wants to move, because it's going to be hard to find a new job in whatever city she decides is next.

If you just want a haircut go to Pro-Cuts. If you want a psychedelic, pseudo-sexual, near death experience, warm white light, spiritual journey go to Vitali. If God dropped acid he'd hallucinate getting His hair done by Christina. Oh yes, and they also have good magazines.

I have been a customer of Ronnie Vitali for 22 years. I have followed him from one salon to the next and was pleased when he opened his own salon (Vitali Salon) years ago. Always professional with his suggestions, listens to your concerns and then proceeds to make you look the best you can. Your visit to the salon will be fun, never boring, because of this family friendly atmosphere. You can join in on the conversations that can range from world politics, local restaurants, concerts, what's happening at home etc etc. Or you can just relax with a book or magazine and enjoy the atmosphere. Most of the other stylists have been with Ronnie at his salon for years, which says a lot about Ronnie and the Salon. Having your hair done at Vitali Salon is a worthwhile experience and I promise you will not walk away disappointed and you'll look great.

I am usually picky about WHO and HOW I let people touch my hair.
I absolutely have to share my recent experience with you all.
I recently made an appt. with Ronnie Vitali (Owner) of Vitali Salon on W. 6th Street.
I can honestly say that I walked in there looking and feeling like a
dirty matted wet dog. MY HAIR WAS A DISASTER!
I have a scheduled photo shoot for Maxim Magazine's
"Hometown Hotties". Ronnie turned my Hair into a MIRACLE!
Beautifully dyed, even all over. Lucious Rich color. He was gentle, which was awesome;
due to the fact that I am tender headed. It was the absolute best pampering experience I have ever had!
Ronnie is now my regular stylist! I do recomend making your immediate appt. TODAY, especially if you wish to portray a "Goddess". He brings exquisite skills to the table! With a snip of his sheers he produces

I just visited Vitali for the second time and got a cut and color from Christina. I had colored my fine hair several times with store-bought black dye, which is notoriously difficult to remove. Most stylists will not touch it. The beautiful and brazen Christina used a natural color remover to transform my tresses from dark black into a ROWR! red, and gave me an incredibly great cut to boot. She is an artist with paint and canvas as well as hair, and her gorgeous work hangs in the salon. The energy there is very relaxed and down-to-earth. I have fine hair that was in dire need of a good haircut--I didn't expect anyone could transform the chop-job I had let the chain-salon stylists do into the soft, full, beautiful modern do that sits atop my head. Vitali is a great salon with incredible stylists--all around me I saw patrons marveling at their hair. I also noticed the clientele easily conversing with the stylists; they were obviously repeat customers who trust the work of the hairdressers. Amazing. Let Christina work her magic--she is the hair goddess!

I've been going to Vitali Salon for 8 years and just love it. Great value with wonderful, friendly and talented staff. I've been using Ronnie, the owner, for all 8 years and he just knows how to color and cut my baby fine hair. I would highly recommend the place.

I just recently started going to Vitali Salon I absolutely love it. For years I have been looking for a reasonably priced hair salon that does good work. I have found it in Vitali. Not only are the people there welcoming and very friendly they work around your schedule and make you feel very comfortable. I go to Matt and he is an outstanding hair stylist, I've never had my color look so great!

I highly reccomend this to anyone looking for somewhere to become their regular salon!

I've been going to Vitali Salon for a couple of years now. I love the location, it's downtown and convenient from my office. It's in this remodeled old house and it is so cute. They've even recently made some upgrades to the decor and it is great! The stylists are all really nice and very good at what they do. I've always been pleased with my hair cut and my hair style!

I have been going to Kathy Miller, at Vitali Salon, for years and always come out with the best haircuts. Not only do you look great coming out of the salon but my hair continues to look great a month later. You get all the amenities of going to a salon that is double the price. Everyone there is very friendly and its a great location. Plus a free clean up is great too so that the hair always looks great.

I always look forward to my visits to Vitali. The atsmophere at Vitali is refreshing: welcoming AND shic. The stylists are talented and friendly. As a customer, you will receive the best of service including a glass of wine while the stylists work their magic. Christina Rassizi is my favorite, as she has taken my fine, lifeless hair and given it volume and shine. But you couldn't go wrong with any of the sylists. Ronnie, the owner, is a delight. I strayed once from Vitali early on and was regretful. I am now a loyal Vitali follower.

I have been looking for a good hairdresser in Austin for a while, and am completely delighted to have found Margaret at Vitali Salon. She really listened to me and gave me great advice about how to achieve the look that I was interested in. I have very thick, wavy hair that usually is frizzy, poofy, and way too heavy. I was so frustrated that I was ready to cut a lot of it off, but Margaret convinced me that she could make it look sleek and glamorous in a longer style. She was absolutely right, and I am so glad that I listened to her. My hair looks better than I ever thought it could. She also gave me great advice on caring for and styling it myself. I would highly recommend Margaret to anyone. Everyone else at the salon was also very nice, and it has a very pleasant atmosphere.

I have been going to vitali for 6 or more years...david moreno is one of the best stylists I have had the pleasure of knowing. He truly takes the art of beauty operating to a new level. I am always pleased with my hair and the total experience when I leave the salon. I have recommended my sister, mother and most of my friends to david.. they have all left feeling the same....

I went to Amy at Vitali Salon. Not only is she vivacious and funny...she is a wonderful colorist. I went on a recommendation and I am throughly pleased. I went looking for a change...not too drastic...Amy knew exactly what to do. She gave me fantastic highlights and a fun cut. She is available evenings and will work you in on short notice. She is fantastic and I highly recommend her. The rest of the stylist seem very nice and the atmosphere is laid back but cool!!!!!!
