Even thought it may be crowded it seems like you have the whole restaurant to yourself, very comfortable, fast service with no rush, Food is great, I have had four different items on the menu and found them all to be well above average, Others in our party have also found it comfortable and a good value. Service is great, Staff is well trained and friendly, Prices are in line Highly recommended and I will return.

It is so nice to finally visit a pub that really sticks to it's roots. They have a great menu with high quality food, beautiful decor. All gorgeous wood walls, floors and bar, huge beer selection and the cheapest Guinness in town! It's $3.95 for a pint and they have the awsome hand made, solid wood beer tasting boxes. The portions are huge on their food and their daily specials are incredible! The other day they had pulled pork on flat bread with kalamata olives, feta basil aioli, also had Pozole and British Fry up! They even have a state of the art beer system which keeps all of their beer lines at one temp so it never gets hot going from keg to pull. 23 flat screen t.v's, even one in the mens room so no one misses the game! They'll open at 8:00am for all you soccer fans all you have to do is call or knock on the door. That is hospitality!Awsome!!!I finally found my home. away from home!

PROS: Full menu from Steaks to Sandwiches, homemade soups, fish n chips and more.

Good selection of beers, great pub atmosphere with hi-tech TVs all over. Food is expensive, OK quality, but nothing to buy an international stamp for and write home about. The Guinness is just OK for an American Bar (I have had Guinness in a pub in Northern Ireland where it was creamy as butter and went down like water). You can't duplicate that here, but there are better places to experience a tastier pull of the brown beer. Not many can match the authentic decor though--it's like being transported across the pond when you walk in.

My family and i ordered the scotch eggs for an appetizer. They were delicious. I ordered the pasties with bubble and squeak. WHOLE MEAL OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!! i am a major fan of english and scottish cuisine. i have ancestors that still live in scotland and england, i felt like i was back in england while eating lunch. I was visiting from st. louis for vacation and ate at the lion and rose restaurant before flying home. st. louis does not have very many pub type places to eat, so when i am in san antonio, it is a real treat to be able to eat at the lion and rose pub. I dont know what else i can say about this place other than it was ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Pros: OUTSTANDING FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cons: A TAD WARM INSIDE. LEFT THE RESTAURANT SWEATY. service slow

This was our first time here. My bf was really craving a burger, and we saw the review on the great pub burger. We arrived, and were not greeted or seated for almost 10 minutes. The place was not even busy. When we sat down, the waitress came and took our drink order, did not make any suggestions or introduce herself. Just took our drink order and left. She came back with the drinks and wanted to take our order, but we weren't ready so asked for 5 more minutes. She never came back until 15 minutes later, after the table next to use who came after us were already being served their food. Then when the food came, she accidentally dropped some of our food. She looked down at it and mumbled about it really quick, and served our food and left. Did not even bother to clean it up or bother to check up on us until we were done with our food. To our disappointment, the food was not as great as we hoped. Lacked some flavor. To top this whole experience, she failed to tell us that our CC would be charged a pre 20%. I called the restaurant and asked the manager about the over-charge I saw, and he was just like oh.. 'CC payments get charged a 20% surcharge to cover tip, and then is refunded later.' The waitress did not even mention this at all!! To think, what if it was a huge bill and with payments pending or checks being written? We as the customer would have been cheated. DISHONEST!!!!!

Pros: None

Cons: BAD SERVICE.

TOtally Awesome. Great Food, atmosphere, and service. Parking is great and although it is tucked away in the corner it was worth the search. We sat in the non-smoking section which was closed off by full doors so the pesky smoke never bothered us like some places that only have it sectioned off by a half wall. Great experience!

Pros: Great Place to Eat

Cons: Not enough time to eat everything!

You'll feel like you are in Britain when you enter this establishment! It's beautiful inside. Their selection of beer is a bit limited but you can get some interesting mix with Harp or Guiness & Pear Cider - very tasty! But they have been out of "Old Speckled Hen" beer on two occasions when I used to go. I guess next time I go back I'll call ahead to make sure they have 'the hen'. Food is bland, but then again it's British/English fare, so thats how it is. Go for the atmosphere. Bring friends! Have fun!

Pros: Beautiful place, fun,

Cons: Out of Old Speckled Hen beer upon two of my visits
