We have been to this authentic neighborhood French restaurant several times, but the food last time was very disappointing.
Our steaks were difficult to cut even with the steak knife the server brought when he saw we were struggling. Wouldn't it have been more appropriate in a class restaurant to have replaced the meal?
And, other than bringing the steak knife, our server pretty well ignored us.
Did enjoy the strolling musician however.

Charming French place in a strip mall, but please don't let that deter you from Lavendou. The service is warm and welcoming, which makes for a relaxed, casual dinner. There's a very nice wine list. The classic French fare includes scrumptious moules mariniere & frites (steamed mussels in white wine, cream with french fries). Their lobster bisque is to die for! The star of the menu, for me, is the gambas et coquilles St. Jacques en mille feuilles (shrimp, scallops, spinach with a cream sauce in a pastry shell). The lavender infused creme brulee is a must for desert. This place is a true treasure.

Delicious french food with nice provencial decor, but Very expensive for dinner. Go for lunch. The service was alright...if you're in Europe it prolly would've seemed great though. The desserts are yummy too. I highly recommend the Tournedos Felix (I think that's what it was called).
con: by the condom store ^.^

Get away from the hustle and bustle of Dallas city life - visit Lavendou in Plano. You'll step into a charming rural French getaway that feeds your appetite and your soul. The menu is similar to the one at Chez Gerard, which has the same owner, Pascal Cayet. Specialities de la Maison that I love include Tournedos Felix Faure; the warm goat cheese salad; Pork Tenderloin with Lavender Honey; and Roasted Chicken With Olive Sauce.
