We have been to this authentic neighborhood French restaurant several times, but the food last time was very disappointing.

Our steaks were difficult to cut even with the steak knife the server brought when he saw we were struggling. Wouldn't it have been more appropriate in a class restaurant to have replaced the meal?

And, other than bringing the steak knife, our server pretty well ignored us.

Did enjoy the strolling musician however.

Charming French place in a strip mall, but please don't let that deter you from Lavendou. The service is warm and welcoming, which makes for a relaxed, casual dinner. There's a very nice wine list. The classic French fare includes scrumptious moules mariniere & frites (steamed mussels in white wine, cream with french fries). Their lobster bisque is to die for! The star of the menu, for me, is the gambas et coquilles St. Jacques en mille feuilles (shrimp, scallops, spinach with a cream sauce in a pastry shell). The lavender infused creme brulee is a must for desert. This place is a true treasure.

Delicious french food with nice provencial decor, but Very expensive for dinner. Go for lunch. The service was alright...if you're in Europe it prolly would've seemed great though. The desserts are yummy too. I highly recommend the Tournedos Felix (I think that's what it was called).

con: by the condom store ^.^

Get away from the hustle and bustle of Dallas city life - visit Lavendou in Plano. You'll step into a charming rural French getaway that feeds your appetite and your soul. The menu is similar to the one at Chez Gerard, which has the same owner, Pascal Cayet. Specialities de la Maison that I love include Tournedos Felix Faure; the warm goat cheese salad; Pork Tenderloin with Lavender Honey; and Roasted Chicken With Olive Sauce.

Chachi's Mexican Restaurant definitely has some of the best food you will ever try. I have been here quite a few times, and have never been disappointed. Thanks for great food and service.

I have been here twice with my Fiance and we LOVE IT. Its not a cheap place but I think well worth every penney we spent. The first time we went there it was Valentine's Day and it was crazy busy!!!! It did take a little bit for us to get seated but I think it was other people being late and not really the restaurants fault. We had the souflee both times and they were to die for!!! The 2nd time we did not wait at all and the food was just as great as I had remembered it 6 months ago. If you can order some wine, I would highly recommend it there...reasonable prices and good service. I can't wait to go back!

This is the best French restaurant in Dallas. I don't know what these other people are talking about. You must be the type of person that likes to complain a lot. Everytime I eat there, the food is excellent and the service, above par. Ask for Lisa next time and she will take good care of you.

I went there for Restaurant Week. My friends and I were very disappointed. The service was non-existence. The food was extremely disappointing.
It's restaurant week, for g-ds sake, show off some type of culinary skills.
I would not recommend this restaurant, there are to many other places to go to.

P.S. The place is in a strip mall, need I say anymore.

One of our favorite restaurants , unfortunately a charmless strip shopping center. They have done a nice job of making the patio as secluded from the parking lot as possible. Always reminds of us of our honeymoon in the South of France. The atmosphere is very familial and warm. Everytime we go, we just ask the waiter what he recommends for wine and we are treated to very reasonably prices gems. The food is delicious and comfortable - the beef stew is the perfect cold weather treat. I highly recommend Lavendou and have brought many friends to share in the experience.

This is definitely a "stuffy/snobby place". They seat customers here by what you wear. Furs and leather jackets got seated in the back of the restaurant. Those of us who were casual dressers were all were seated in the front near the window. This was a Saturday night at 6:30PM, we had reservations and they were not full. Our server came up to us, NEVER told us about the night's specials and brought out a wrong entree - casually apologizing. The bus servers weren't much better as they filled one glass with water, but not the other person's glass. The Roasted Duck was outstanding in all of this mess. We will not go back.

Toile upholstery, vibrant yellow and blue fabrics and red brick aspire to create intimacy in this cavernous space. However, a noisy kitchen and piped-in French pop music punctuated by the occasional "order's up" bell…
