What was promised a 3 day job turned into over 1 week. The sales person was unprofessional and rude. Called us begging for the contract back and never asking for a plat of our property. He asked my husband twice to go to the property site and supervise his crew. One crew member was found asleep. When complaints were made to his voice mail and the main office, he came over to the property and then started mouthing off about us to our new neighbors. We finally received what seemed like the service we were expecting when the GM got involved. Unless you want a migraine and a huge bill for little service, I suggest you go elsewhere. Viking Fence is supposed to be a "reputable" company. There is nothing reputable about it.

The salesperson that came out to the house was rude. He went over to the other side of the house to an area of the fence they weren't going to be working on, and pulled on it. It came loose and they never fixed it.\n\nI sent them several emails to follow-up on the job, and never heard back from them. I went with Austex instead.\n\nI would avoid VIking.

Wayne, I wanted to brag on your guys. They worked so hard, it turned out great, exactly what I was looking for. Unexpectedly, they also went above and beyond and fixed a gate latch, which was a nice surprise. Delivering what was promised and more is terrific service, thank you!

Brad, I wish to thank you for sending the three man team, headed up by Oscar, an 18 year veteran with you. They did an exemplary job and were most cooperative and friendly. I highly recommend them for an increase in pay when that is possible in this poor economy. \n\nThank you for your patience and understanding in this long process in making the whole thing work to the satisfaction of all involved. I personally learned very much about the whole process and enjoy looking at the new fence every day. I only wish that it could look this way for 20 years!

After purchasing a new home on a raw, acre, tree-filled lot, I've dealt with more contractors than I'd care to which is why I feel compelled to give kudos to the rare, deserving few. Viking Fence made the cut.\n\nThey installed 572 linear feet of 6' tall ornamental fencing with scroll top, a 10' wide double drive gate, and one walk gate. It cost just under $20k. \n\nThe job took much longer to complete than they'd originally estimated because the field supervisor skipped town with no word. So, what was supposed to take several weeks took nearly 1.5 months to complete. We had problems with the fence panels along a driveway slope shifting so our locks wouldn't work. After a few attempts, we got the panels secured but still occasionally experience problems with the locks. Installation had been completed towards the former part of this year, so it's frustrating to still experience issues but the last attempt to fix the problem has thus far worked.\n\nDespite this, they are consistently responsive, professional and always prompt and courteous. We'd still use them again; Dean Stockwell is the guy to ask for to help you design/choose the right fencing for you. \n\nBtw, I am shocked at the one and two-star reviews, mostly about their unresponsiveness with respect to bids. Two days after the on-site consult with Dean, I got a quote. And as previously mentioned, the repeat issues we had post-installation got addressed/fixed promptly. \n\nHopefully my review will sway prospective customers that are on the 'fence' to give Viking Fence a try. Good contractors are hard to come by so let's keep them around and weed out the junk. :)

I have previously posted on here in the past about a few bad experiences I have had before. This post is to re-correct that since then my business with them has been much more pleasant.\n\nIn the past few months and large orders I have used them for my lumber source on many projects, and they have been more than excellent on their service, quality, pricing, and timing. I will continue to use their high quality Western Red Cedar on all my projects.\n\n

I called Viking Fence, thinking that they would ignore my business, as the job for my grandmother was small. Not so...they have a small jobs crew. I had approx. 30 feet of fence built, one gate and it looks great.\r\n

We just moved into a new house, and the old fence was not in good shape to keep our dogs safe. We called up both Viking and AusTex to get quotes to fix the fence. AusTex came by, did not listen to a single thing we said, told us ""Your dogs shouldn't be able to get out of this current fence"", we responded that they already did, they stated that ""we must not be very good dog owners then"". With much self restraint I kept quiet and they sent a quote that had nothing to do with anything we'd mentioned or talked about.\r\n\r\nViking Fence showed up the next day, listened to what we said, found great ways to save us some money (noting that the posts of the one portion of the old fence just needed to be reset, and then the rotted boards switched out). They explained the process thoroughly, showed up on day one, as promised, and cleared out the old material and set the new posts. They showed up the next day, as promised, made sure the cement for the posts was properly dry, then finished the fence. A few days later a quality control member of their team showed up (not from us calling or anything, just part of their process) and inspected the fence and asked us questions making sure that we were very satisfied with our new fence.

Viking Fence did a wonderful job on my fence!!! The customer service not so good but the work they produce was great i would highly recommend them! which i did to my neighbor who got a lovely wrought iron fence and looks wonderful now i kind of wish i had got one!! Working with Viking Fence has been the most disappointing experience I've ever had with a company ever.\r\n\r\nI requested a quote from their website twice and never got a response (that should have been my first clue), but I persisted and actually called to ask for a quote.\r\n\r\nI signed the authorization form and sent it to them on 7/18 and was billed for half the job that day on my credit card. However they didn't contact me until 7/28 to tell me that they were coming out that day to do the install. I had called multiple times in the interim to find out when we could schedule the walk-around to discuss the actual installation. They had no idea what I wanted done!\r\n\r\nThey do a partial job on 7/28, but don't show up the morning of 7/29 to continue to the work -- no phone call, nothing. I had to call Perry and ask him where his crew was. His response was an email saying they would be out the next day. However they showed up the afternoon of 7/29 to do work anyway. \r\n\r\nThe work is almost finished when they tell me that the gates for the fence are wrong and they can't finish until 8/1. They come out on Saturday as promised, but the gates they bring are too small and don't fit the spaces in the fences. The guy onsite with me even admits to not measuring the gaps to see if the gates will fit. ""We'll be back on Thursday (8/7) to finish the job,"" he says. \r\n\r\nMonday, 8/4, I receive an invoice from Viking for the wrong amount. The job is not even finished and they are invoicing me. For the wrong amount. I call Perry and get voicemail, so I decide to call the Director of Sales and let her know how disappointed I am in the level of service I am receiving. Leave a message and actually get a call back - hoorah! \r\n\r\nPerry also confirms a Thursday finish to the job, but no one shows on Thursday -- no calls, no nothing. \r\n\r\nStill an open job and my customer satisfication is getting lower by the second -- CAVEAT EMPTOR!

I called Viking and within a 6 hour time we were measuring my lot and getting down to the numbers. Amazingly the salesman (Mark Williams) knew that I was in a crunch and needed a fence up fast since my pool was exposed. He not only showed me 4 different options but 4 different prices and suprisingly enough he didn't push me to the highest price. He surveyed my house and the neighborhood coming in and practically knew what I needed and wanted before I ever opened my mouth!! The kicker to this was it took me almost 4 days to get 2 other companies to give me there numbers even though I stated the urgency!! Mark came out and within 4 days of signing the paperwork had my new fence up and all the old fence gone. WOW!! I am Very Impressed and will recommend them to anyone!!\r\n\r\nJason M.

To bad a company can take good materials and create such a poor quality fence. The people next door had Viking to install a fence and if the installers would have taken a little more care and another hour it would have been nice. I can't believe the salesman did not supervise the worksmanship better. The fence looks like a rollercoaster and some of the boards did not get nailed into the lower stringer. The salesman came and tried to sell me the remaining sides of my property but at $15.00 lin ft I decided to pass. I would pass and find someone else to install your fence. \r\n\r\nIt's not often that I write a review but Viking truly stinks.

Viking was hired for a project that cost $2500 and never finished the job! They were slow, difficult to reach, had to come back twice to fix mistakes and when asked to complete the project, they changed the pricing dramatically. In other words, they ""re-traded the deal"". I now have an incomplete fence and have already paid the $2500. They are dishonest, unethical and the salesperson said they have so much business that they really don't care about individual homeowners - they want the big projects. Save yourself time and money by going to a company that appreciates your business. Viking clearly does not, and they obviously don't care about you or their reputation.
