********** WORTH THE READ**********
Well what can I say, Scrapbook Heaven, is not a nice place to shop.
Just some FYI for customers, know who you are spending your hard earned money with before you go into this store.
The owner would ask employees to lie to the customers by telling the customers that she had ordered things then she would go down the street and buy it at Hobby Lobby with the 40 off coupon, bring it back to the store and have employees call the customer say it just arrived, she said if they are too stupid to go down to Hobby Lobby and buy it for themselves, then she would and charge them more. Several times she would do this for Michael??s and Joann's with the 50 off coupons. So anyone who bought the Pink Options storage containers from SBH well if you looked at the label closely it says made exclusively for Michael's stores.
Forget about special orders, because they will never arrive. The owner will say products have been ordered that people want, but you could wait for months and products would never come in again. The owner will announce new product just in and when you arrive to get it its ??SOLD OUT ??you just missed it. Most of the stuff in the store is old product and some was actually water damaged. Noticed products that the store has that is new, was marked up $3 more than suggested retail.
Ordering online, I have not but I understand some people that did waited nearly two months and then was told products were sold out. I was under the impression that their money was tied up the entire time.
Customer service is almost nonexistent, some of the clerks will be nice, but if you don??t spend a lot of money the owner doesn??t want anything to do with you.
Custom projects deadlines are almost never on time.
Crops and Retreats wouldn??t waste my money. Door prizes are often cheap discounted close out products from stores like Tuesday Morning, Ross and Marshalls.
There is a store policy of no returns, unlike Michaels and Hobby Lobby and Joann??s, due to the nature of the owner unable to guarantee acid free quality and that is a little strange due to products being purchased at those stores and sold at SBH. Can you guarantee their product on the shelf?
If you really want a good place to shop for scrapbooking supplies go to Stamp Antonio right off Lockhill Selma and 1604, they are always getting in new stuff. Other than that I would stick to online stores, Michael??s, Hobby Lobby, or Joann??s.

Do you really want to pay 50% or more for the very same supplies sold at Walmart, Michael's, Hobby Lobby or Joann's? Oh wait! These supplies WERE bought at Walmart, Michael's, Hobby Lobby and Joann's!!!! (and Target's dollar section is suspect as well!) They saved you the trip and for the favor, marked the price way up!!! If you want the really good name brand stuff you expect to find in a real scrapbook store go somewhere else.

I shop at Scrapbook Heaven whenever I have the chance and I love going there. The staff is very helpful and I'm been to both Friday night crops and classes that are offered there. Victoria is an amazing teacher and is more than willing to help beginner scrappers learn the tricks of scrapbooking to make your book fabulous. The new staff are all experienced scrappers who are more than willing to spend the time with you to help you find what you are looking for and are much more knowledgeable than you will find at the big hobby stores. I highly recommend stopping by and speaking with Victoria, Mary, Janet, Donna and Sharla about all of your scrapbooking questions.

The original Scrapbook Heaven opened in 1997 and was sold in 2007. I began shopping at Scrapbook Heaven near the end of 1998 when it was located in Castle Hills. I purchased their 'Tool Tag' for $40 at that time and annually until this year. I understand that the cost of living has risen and businesses have to increase the cost of their products to meet business needs, however, the original owner sold the store in 2007 after being in business for 10 years. At the time the store was sold, my Tool Tag cost $50. That's a total increase of $10 over 9 years. Since the new owner took over, the Tool Tag increased $5 per year to $65, however, for 2011, she increased the cost to **** $150 **** - 2-1/2 times what it was in 2009!!!!!!#$%!!!!!!! Her excuse is that she needs to make money somehow. With the previous owner, if you had a Tool Tag and you purchased the one for the following year before Thanksgiving, you would get a $5 discount, new owner, forget it. Needless to say she has lost a lot of 'previous' customers to her sales tactics (also see other reviews posted by others on this site). The owner is RUDE, doesn't dress as a business owner, nor does she have any business management or customer service skills. The only time she is 'friendly' is when someone 'new' walks into the store... then she will 'KA'. In my experience, when other business people came into the store asking for the owner and I would point her out to them you should have seen the look on their faces. I'm sorry, I guess I am old fashioned. There is a time and a place for exposing your body, and it isn't to potential customers! Being a 'regular' to the store for many years, if I would have a question about a product it was like I was 'bothering' the owner when I asked her. In addition to making $$money$$ by increasing the cost of the Tool Tag, she says that she has to have 30 tables set up in the crop room to make money....$10 for Friday Night crops, $5 for Wednesday crops, however, 1/3 of the tables, yes 10 TABLES, are covered with her personal scrapbooking supplies. The previous owner did not have any of her personal supplies on even 1 of the 30 tables in the crop room. Also, when I would crop at the store, whether it be on a crop day/night, or, other times, whenever I would go out into the store to shop for something that I needed to go with a page that I was working on, customers would ask me for help in finding something....then they would realize that I didn't work there when I directed them to the front of the store to purchase their items and went to find an employee to 'take their money'. I haven been in customer service in some manner since I was 16 years old and I don't mind helping fellow crafters, however, I would get the 'rolling eyes' from the owner if she was the one I found to 'take their money'. I have always shopped regularly at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Joann's and continue to do so, however, I crop with friends in private settings instead of us meeting at Scrapbook Heaven. If I am looking for something specific I go to Stamp Antonio Arts or The Scrapbook Store Inc. since they are the only other 2 scrapbooking stores left in San Antonio. Her words have been so hurtful to many of us 'regulars' that we have left there in tears several times!!!!!!

I am new to scrapbooking and didn't know a thing about papers, tools, punches or techniques. I like the store; its clean, the paper collections are set up in an organized fashion, and all the employees have been very helpful and knowledgeable. The classes I've taken have been informative and have really helped me to understand the tools and techniques of scrapbooking and I really get a great deal of enjoyment out of the hobby.

I have been going to Scrapbook Heaven for several years and have followed them as they changed locations twice because they are worth it. The staff is wonderful, the crop room is the best. If you have any questions on a product the owner will pull it off the shelf to demonstrate it to you. I think people who go in once and base there entire judgement are not being fair, they should go back several times before they post a negative comment, maybe they (the customer) was having a bad day and not the staff at Scrapbook Heaven.

I would rather shop at Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann's, or Michael's, I've seen the same items there, for less.. I shop at Stamp Antonio or would rather make the drive to Archiver's in Austin.

I had a horrible experience at this store! I work in retail & I value customer service, they didn't greet me when I walked in the door & never asked to make sure that I was finding everything alright. They did have some cute stuff but i will go to a different store for all of my scrapbooking needs. I would never recommend this store to a friend!

The last time I was at Scrapbook Heaven was about 3 years ago. I went to the weekly crops and always had a great time. I recently went back and I was very disappointed. They apparently changed owners and I could tell within the first 5 minutes of being there. They were low on everything. They were out of multiple colors of card stock, stickers, and tools. The staff seemed annoyed when I would ask them questions. They did not have any type of door prizes during the crop as it states on their web sight. My friends and I will be finding a new place to scrapbook ASAP!

This scrapbook store is one of my most favorite in the area. Most of the employees have been with Scrapbook Heaven since the beginning, or transferred from the Castle Hills location to Bandera road. They are friendly and always willing to help and give their suggestions, or ideas on your layouts. I love to scrap at this store. They also have a lot of items in their scrapping room that are free to use - the computer for journaling, punches, sissors, etc. It's quiet and well stocked with anything you could possibly want!

PROS: Quiet and clean store. Very well stocked on items
CONS: I cant think of any!!!

Scrapbook Haven is a great place for the avid scrapbooker or just an average shopper on a mission for a special project. They have so many items that encourage creativity. The workers there are all knowledgeable and are not afraid to offer suggestions. The variety is great.

Scrapbook Haven is a great place to find items for scrapbooking. They have a big variety of items. I often buy some of these items for school projects or spirit bags. The worker must also love scrapbooking because they offer ideas and show a genuine interest in your project.
