I found Benno's Buttons by simply Googling. I needed 5 mother-of-pearl buttons for a little jacket I had recently purchased. Well, "little" is the operative word, because the next time I tried the jacket on it did not fit. I went to return my over-priced button purchase ($15 for 5) and, lo and behold! - there were "No Refund" signs EVERYWHERE. My mistake! However, my complaint concerns the customer service I received when I returned to Benno's. I left work early so I could arrive by closing time of 5:30, and as I walked through the unlocked door at 5:25, the sole employee behind the counter snapped "Excuse me! We're closed!" in a very loud tone. Startling, even. I basically had to beg her to listen to me (at this point, I had not seen the signs) and she made sure to cut me off and point out the signs. As I said, my mistake. However, she was SO unpleasant (the feeling I got from her was more "you're outta luck" than even remotely apologetic), and told me that I could not speak to the owner, and was hot on my tail to lock the door behind me. This may not sound like much, but to me it was a very negative experience - I expected a cute place like that (it appears to be locally owned, I don't know) to have outstanding customer service and a real appreciation for the people who are willing to buy expensive buttons. I won't return to Benno's.
