Momentum Volkswagen is a money pit!
by paul m.
An absolute rip-off! I took the car in for an oil-change and to have a bulb replaced. My bill was over $200! I was frozen with shock! I mean, they charged me $58 to have the bulb fitted!! They charged me $55 to change the oil, not including the price of oil by the way!
I booked the car in for 8am thinking I would be in and out quick. I picked the car up at noon after being told the wait would be an hour tops!
Absolute wankers they are. Never again.

Momentum Volkswagen is super
by ralph s.
I just had my best service ever at Momentum VW. They did a great job and returned the car at the time promised and it had been washed. People are always knocking the dealerships but i find them very frendly and easy to deal with.

VERY POOR service
by A S.
I had my car serviced at Momentum VW - the job got done, but I had to return when the car wouldn't lock like it used to (the alarm wouldn't turn on). The agent who had initially helped me then said they didn't do anything that would involve the control, even though it was working BEFORE I went in. He proceeded to talk to me like I'm an idiot (I'm a physician), and still didn't have the mechanic or someone else take a look without demanding a charge first. Clearly they did something to my car if my car was in one condition before coming to them and different once it came out of their garage!

THE WORST-SERIOUSLY
by marc S.
These guys are a joke. They knew less about my Touareg than I did. They kept the car for three days and it still was not fixed. They do not provide loaners even though I bought a 50K V8 Touareg. I brought the car to an independent garage and they fixed it in 2 hours!!! And their bill was 100 dollars- Momentum estimates 900+. I have owned 10+ cars and this place really is the worst. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. As a part of Sonic Automotive, a publicly -owned company, they care only about their shareholders and maximizing profits- not about the individual customers satisfaction. I will NEVER buy another VW because of the service (or lack thereof).
Low-class service at its best.

Consistently Horrible Service
by VW D.
I have had a lot of problems with my Jetta over the past two years that I have owned it, so I figured it was a good thing that at least it was still under its extended warranty, but every single time I bring it into Momentum there are problems. The service people beat around the bush with when you'll get your car back or they flat out lie about it, and when you do pick up your car they'll charge you a bunch of fees that they never discuss with you. They'll act nice at first until you notice that they're just charging you money for nothing and not fixing your car, then they'll be rude as hell.
On my last trip the service guy tacked on an extra hundred bucks on top of the deductible I already pay on service, and he couldn't explain why it was there; in the end I had to pay it anyway to get my car out. The service people and the manager are completely unethical and I don't even know if they're really ever fixing the car since it keeps having the same problems.
I've been there about 5-6 times already because it is much closer than other dealership locations, and each time I leave pissed off. Next time I'll just go ahead and take the drive across town to another dealership.

50/50
by K S.
I think it's a toss up with Momentum VW. I was on the freeway driving towards Clear Lake after having picked up my car from being serviced and the engine light started to beep. I was annoyed because I had JUST picked up my car and there shouldn't be anything wrong with it. I called and ended up speaking to Derek, who was amazing. He talked me through checking my oil and suggested I come on back in and it was ok to drive.
On the way there I heard a grinding noise so I again pulled over and called him on his cell, which he told me to do so I could for sure reach someone if I needed to. He and a mechanic picked me up and they had my car towed back. Once in the car, Derek set up the Hertz rental so i wouldn't have to go through any of that, which was great!
However, when I got the Hertz rental home the low tire pressure light came on. I returned the car and Hertz charged me the $100.00 fee and I'm currently waiting patiently to call me back to explain the charge when VW is supposed to pick up the bill.
Sooo... long story short, just because people have a great personality doesn't necessarily mean they are good at their job.

Momentum VW does not honor the policies you buy with Fidelity Warranty
by Veronica M.
I have a Car Care Service Plan from Fidelity Warranty under the contract number 18341088 which I paid for when I bought my car at Archer Volkswagen in Houston, TX on May 14, 2005.I scheduled my 2004 Jetta for the 20,000 miles maintenance at Momentum Volkswagen in Houston, TX on Thursday July 3, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. The 20,000 mile car care coupon says "OIL CHANGE WITH FILTER REPLACEMENT, TIRE ROTATION, REPLACE DUST POLLEN FILTER" The people at Momentum told me that I had to pay the difference for all the other check points they were going to perform in my car. I immediatly talked to a representative of Fidelity Warranty, who adviced me to tell the service advisor and the service manager that they should talk directly to Fidelity Warranty in order to deal with this issue. The service manager at Momentum, Mr. Derek Bennet, did not even try to contact Fidelity; he just said that the coupon was Archer's and that was only worth the oil change - he mentioned an amount about ninety dollars. When my husband bougth the car, he specifically asked if we could take the car to any other dealer for the scheduled maintenance, we were told that it was a Volkswagen and that we would receive service. Unfortunatley today was not the case.It is worth noting that for the 5,000, the 10,000 and the 15,000 miles services, I took the car to Momentum and they received my car without a problem; I only had to pay the difference for synthetic oil. I do not know why they changed their procedures regarding this contract. They don't care.

Worst experience ever!
by Jessica S.
I purchased a car in October 2007, understanding it to be certified and have undergone a 112-point checklist. I've had numerous problems with the car and the dealership is refusing to fix the recurring problems due to their claim that the car I purchased was in an accident. I had no prior knowledge of this and the dealership is not taking responsibility for selling me a wrecked car. I've been told the warranty is not valid for repairs concerning my matter. $20,000 later, I am stuck with a wrecked car. I would never go to this dealership again and advise anyone interested in buying, to go somewhere else.

Great Sales Service, typical garage
by Luke G.
I bought my first car (a one-year old Jetta) from Momentum after visiting over 6 other dealers and being repelled by their bizarre sales tactics, circus-veteran salesmen and general shiestiness. My salesman, David Chamberlain, was exceptional - answering all my first-timer questions and making sure I didn't overlook asking the things I had forgotten about. He's since moved over to the Audi side, but my experience with everyone at Momentum has been exceptional.
That being said, parking near the facility is at a premium. I've actually gotten a ticket while my vehicle was on the street waiting to be brought in for service. However, they've recently renovated the entire facility. Let's hope that was one of the things addressed.
Otherwise, the garage does excellent work, but you do pay dealer prices.

Bad customer Service.... they like to sell extended warranties, but they do not honor them
by MedinaJose
Hope you take this in consideration when buying a car from these guys!!!
I scheduled my 2004 Jetta for the 20,000 miles maintenance at Momentum Volkswagen in Houston, TX on Thursday July 3, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. This service is covered under the Car Care Service Plan i selected whe i purchased the car.
The 20,000 mile coupon says "OIL CHANGE WITH FILTER REPLACEMENT, TIRE ROTATION, REPLACE DUST POLLEN FILTER" The people at Momentum told my wife that we had to pay the difference for all the other measurements they were going to perform in my car. She immediately talked to a representative of Fidelity Warranty, who adviced her to tell the service advisor and the service manager that they should talk directly to Fidelity Warranty in order to deal with this issue.
The service manager at Momentum, Mr. Derek Bennet, did not even try to contact Fidelity; he just said that the coupon was Archer's and that was only worth the oil change - he mentioned an amount about ninety dollars.
I can not believe they can not honor my policy!... I bought the car in an authorized dealer of VW, and I do not care if it is Archer, or Momentum, or whatever; for me it is VW...
I already placed my Complaint with Car Care Service.
... don't you hate when these people says that it was just a misunderstanding... it is not ; it is a discourtesy and unprofessionalism from Momentum.

unprofessional experience
by mgrayum
I was looking to buy a pre-owned Jetta and Momentum Volkswagen had more than one in stock. In fact, according to autotrader and and cars dot com, Momentum had about 3 vehilces which matched my criteria. I called the Momentum sales rep Stephen Lutz and he said the vehicle I was interested in was in stock. I gave him my number and said I would be in that Saturday or as soon as the check arrived. When my check did arrive, I called Stephen the next morning to assure it was in stock and he said it was. I told him I would be there that afternoon.
Well.....guess what happened? I drove all the way there and Stephen Lutz wouldn't even talk to me. He said he was "too busy" and quickly pawned me off onto another salesperson. Bad start Steven. After that, I find out that the car he said WAS there earlier that morning was in fact sold the day before....so they had completely wasted my time. I thought to myself, at least I could look at the other vehilcles that matched my criteria - there are two left. Sadly, they were sold as well. These same cars which were NOT in stock are still listed as available on the autotrader and cars dot com to this day.
I called to speak to the manager about my experience and had to leave a message. I told them word of mouth can really hurt a business. I guess they didn't believe me.
Cons: bad parking, worse service
