Patricia's Coffee & Tea
Don't let the name fool you, this is not a tea room or a coffee house. It's really a great little diner run by two grandmothers. From the chicken salad, to the pickles, to the blackberry cobbler - everything is made from scratch.
Come for the food, not the ambiance. Mismatched chairs and tables, vinyl doilies, and a lunch counter aren't the height of trendy, but it sure reminds me of my grandmother's house.
It's very clean and for my mother and I to each have soup and sandwich, iced tea, and cobbler the bill was less than $16.00. Hurry in though, everything closes early in Garland's downtown disctrict and Patricia's is no exception. Three o'clock is as late as they're open.
PROS: homemade food, great service
CONS: not a tea room or a coffee house
