My husband and I stopped in tonight (Sunday) around 8pm. He had Bombay Chinese chicken and I had Hyderabadi chicken biriyani. I was so happy to finally find Hyderabadi biriyani in Dallas, since we just moved here from Detroit where it was easier to find.
The Hyderabadi biriyani was excellent. The fried rice my husband ordered with his Chinese chicken was alright, but it was basmati fried rice. Probably would have been better with the traditional rice used in Chinese cooking rather than the basmati. Texture wasn't right for a Chinese dish.
Both dishes were adequately spicy.
I thought the value for the money was very good. We ordered a generously sized veg spring roll appetizer (very good), two entrees, an order of fried rice. Our meal was $30.02 including the tip, AND we have _more_ than enough left over for lunch tomorrow.
There is another restaurant nearby with a little more ambience (although they serve food on paper plates-- tacky!), for sure (which is basically just fancier light fixtures and warm colored paint) but I have tried it before and honestly, I prefer Bombay Chinese delicious and complex food in a simple restaurant over a neighboring restaurant that puts ten times as much effort into their "ambience" than they do their food (Zyka).
