Saved my cat's life & a very good financial option

by Jaci M.

Dr. Wright saved my cat's life. I am eternally grateful and have no words to express how awesome that is! Price wise- they are pretty inexpensive compared to other vet clinics. They know me by the amount of animals I've rescued and found homes for and they have been very gracious in the care and compassion of my rescued babies. Dr. Wright is very personable and always makes me feel comfortable. I know that if my cat is there for a procedure or an emergency overnight stay, the vet techs and office assistants are always willing to give me an update on his status over the phone. Thank you Dr. Wright! Felix and I are grateful.

Staff is extremely Rude!!!

by linda l.

I had brought 2 different puppies in for puppy shots and they mixed up the two puppies and gave them both wrong shots!!! Instead of admitting fault, they were rude and very unhelpful.

Animal Hospital On Teasley Ln is not budget friendly.

by Jackie R. | insider Insider | Rank: 23,333

We took my new puppy here because it was close to where we live. We received no recommendation, we just kind of picked it. While the doctor was fine, the office staff was not overly friendly, and they actually misquoted the cost of our visit to me by HALF. They said it would be between 40 and 50$ for my new puppy to be seen, but it was nearly 90. Displeasing, considering I specifically asked for an estimate so that I was sure I cold budget for it.

Who chooses an office on personality?! Dr. Wright in an amazing vet.

by haley k.

I really feel bad for the people who had a bad experience with Dr. Wright. He is AMAZING! I am moving out of the state and i'm sad to leave this office!

Animal Hospital On Teasley Ln is not recommended.

by Kim W. | insider Insider | Rank: 20,171

I was not at all happy with my visit the other week at this place. The staff were extremely rude. They treated my cat simply awful. They were all in a hurry and were more concerned with something else that was going on. The building is run down and not very well maintained either. It smelt awful. I will not be going back. I do not see how some of the reviews for these people can be honest. One of the worst vet clinics I've been to in my whole life. I'll be going elsewhere.

Dr. Wright - Thank you for saving my dogs life!

by Grace W.

How do you thank a Dr who has saved your pets life? Our dog started having seizures - our we were going to a different vet at the time - thousands of dollars later and her seizures were worse. More medication, more money - it was SO SAD to watch her struggle. After about a year of struggling we found Dr. Wright. within the first week our dogs seizures stopped completely. It has been over a year and she has not had one episode! The other vet was going to put her on a lifetime of pills - she is not on ANY medications now. Dr. Wright you saved my dogs life - THANK YOU!

I won't be going back.

by Leanna H.

Dr. Wright's office isn't bad, but he and his staff don't have the best personalities in the world. I felt rushed the first time I went in there, and when I was in the examination room with my dog the woman doing her check up was slightly condescending. I was also NOT impressed with how they put staples in my dog after she was spayed. Instead of trying to make her feel comfortable they just shoved her on the table and stapled her shut while she was flailing around. I won't be going back to this vet.

Dr. Wright is a wonderful vet

by L.C. W.

I only wish that I had found Dr. Wright sooner. He cared for my dog of 15 years starting at about year 13. She was never scared of going into Dr. Wright's office. She never put her brakes on at the door like when we walked into other vet clinics. She felt comfortable with Dr. Wright and I'm so relieved that he was there with her when it was her time to leave this world. I will continue to take my other dog there as long as Dr. Wright will have us.

I love Dr. Wright!

by Chris B.

We found Dr. Wright by accident, and it was the luckiest accident we could have had. He is knowledgeable, helpful, and very VERY good with our dogs. He is also compassionate (we had two senior dogs that we had adopted and he helped us with their end-of-life issues, even though he wasn't the one who ultimately euthanized them) and is always willing to take the time to explain things to us.He also stays up-to-date on current veterinary treatments and techniques - when one of our dogs was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, he talked to us about a new treatment that had been used in Canada with success and was just being approved in the US. Our dog had significant improvement as a result - she lived 3 years from the time of her diagnosis, and we ultimately lost her to kidney problems, not heart failure.I find his prices to be reasonable, and his approach to be realistic and conservative. He is not one to recommend tests unless he feels they are going to benefit the animal, but if he feels tests should be done, he will definitely let me know.I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Wright to anyone looking for a vet. The only downside to his practice is the 20 minute drive it takes us to get there! =)

Dr. Wright is wonderful!

by LInda W.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Wright He knows what he is talking about, and recommends the most conservative methods that are reasonably priced and effective. He is not afraid to try new therapies on old diseases that otherwise have little hope, and the wisdom to explain the risks and benefits. Although his prices are very reasonable, but what he saves on the most is what he doesn't do - he doesn't do unnecessary tests for the sake of testing. He knows when it's time to make the tough decisions regarding euthanasia, and when it is time to give medicine one more try first. To the one person who wrote the one negative review, please check your facts regarding worms - tapeworms usually do not show up on fecal tests because they are usually isolated in the stool and not present in most samples. If there is a tapeworm present in a sample you can see it before you put it under a microscope. You missed getting a chance to use the best vet in our North Texas area! Thank you Dr. Wright for knowing so much, and being so gracious when your clients don't have a clue.

Amazing Dr and Staff

by CJ M.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Wright. When our dog became ill very quickly Dr. Wright was gracious, compassionate and caring in answering all our questions. When we wanted to make a herculean effort to save him at any cost, Dr. Wright gently told us the winning lottery ticket could not save our boy. As we left the office after putting him to sleep (the dog, not Dr. Wright) the office staff was in tears. Dr. Wright offered to keep our dog until we decided how to handle his remains. This is the first vet in 40 years that I truly trust with my animals.

If Dr Wright worked on humans - I would go to him

by Keli P.

What a wonderful knowledgeable Vet Dr Wright is. We have used him since moving to the Denton area in 1999. He has been insightful, kind, truthful and at times painfully honest. He does not believe in over medicating or vaccinating. We had to put one of our cats down due to old age and illness, they were so very kind and thoughtful on how they handled everything. I will recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

VERY HELPFULL AND NICE!!!

by Anonymous

I have a 10 month old Pomeranian girl puppy, and was looking to get her fixed soon. Well my boyfriend mentioned a place in Denton, on University Dr. (Denton Animal Hospital), I called them to get some information and they did not not what they were talking about!!! First of all they told me that they don't do blood work because it's cheaper the other way then told me I had no "common sense" because I wanted to visit my pup after surgery (to see how she was doing). Completely RUDE.

Well I called Animal Hospital On Teasley, and asked them the same questions! THEY WERE VERY HELPFULL, TOLD ME EXACTLY HOW EVERYTHING WOULD GO, THE REASONS FOR EVERYTHING, MADE ME FEEL COMFORTABLE ABOUT THE WHOLE SITUATION AND JUST OVER ALL NICE!

THEY HAVE THE SAME PRICES AS THE OTHER ****RUDE & DIRTY**** PLACE, SO I RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE OUT THERE THAT ARE LOOKING FOR A VET GO TO THIS PLACE! YOU WILL GET ANSWERS TO ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS!!

P.S. I WILL UPDATE THIS AFTER THE PROCEDURE!

We Love This Vet and His Entire Staff by Janet N.

by Janet N.

We have used this veterinarian since moving to Denton in 2001. The staff and Dr. Wright are extremely caring and super friendly. They take the time to answer any questions from concerns about our elderly dog to the new puppy and kitten. We have always felt assured that the care our animals received was the BEST. I never hesitate to call with any question. The charges are certainly fair and much less than I had paid in Richardson. Visit them and feel the warmth.

BAD

by Anonymous

We felt rushed by the vet when visiting for a check up. Also we got our animal from the shelter and were wondering if she had fleas or ticks and if this would effect our cats... he shrugged it off saying she only had ticks and it wouldn't harm our cats. He did a fecal test too and didn't determine anything wrong with her. The same day we find tapeworms in her poo... and we are wondering how this "professional" missed it. I would not recommend this vet. We only went to him because the service was free because we adopted from Operation Kindness. We like South Ridge off of 288. Go there for good people who care.

Dr. Wright and Staff are SUPERB

by Jay N.

First: the location shown on the map is incorrect. The office is on the portion of Teasley Ln in southern Denton, not in Corinth. Follow Teasley/Swisher to the west and as it turns north. The office is on the east side of Teasley north of Ryan Rd.

I've been using Dr. Wright for over 7 years. During that time, I've found him and his entire staff to be very friendly, compassionate, and fair. Above all else, however, these fine people CARE. No matter the ailment, pet, or owner, Dr. Wright and his staff have shown more genuine concern and caring for our pets and for us than at any other vet's offcie I've ever used. I've even used one of his assistants on a couple fo occasions to pet/house sit for us and she was wonderful. I think the fact that Dr. Wright was in practice for large ranches and cattle herds for a while years ago makes him appreciate the bond between us and our pets a little more. I think he is glad to be working one-on-one with pets and owners rather than impersonal relationships with inumerable cattle. It certainly shows in his handling and demeanor with our dogs (we've had 4 treated by him for various ailments and routine treatments over the past 7 years).

I highly recommend The Animal Hospital on Teasley Lane. You will not be dissappointed!

Great care - good people

by Lisa W.

We adopted a pet from the Denton Co. SPCA group who was under care for heart worms at the time at this vet office - a bit out of the way for us in Flower Mound, but I'd been told that they would test her and finish her treatment for free. They had eradicated the heart worms, but had to test her two more times (they showed up in a test after 6 months, so they wanted to test her again in another 6 months). She's been cleared of heart worms! They've also taken our other dog into their fold - happily. Both of our dogs were rescues, which they have a soft spot in their hearts for. If you've adopted a dog in the area, their specialty is rescued animals. They primarily work with rescue operations, so they understand the needs and sometimes stange demeanors of our pets. :) I also want to mention the good prices on their medications - I was suprised when I got my dogs their heartworm pills (one dog is nearly 100 lbs, the other is 60 - so we have to get two different sets of pills) - but they were about $10 less than any other vet we'd bought them from! (totally competitive with online pet med sources - I promise!)

Great vaccine clinics

by Jane K. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 592

They help out at local events with vaccines and offer them at a discounted price compared to to an office visit. Clean setting. They cats on one side and doggies on another. They offer boarding of small animals or for older pets that need more care than a pet sitter. Prices are a little high but they offer expert care in a nice office.
