Best kept secret. me and my family have been going to this restaurant ever since i can remember. It is a good place to go especially if you like authentic Mexican food. Waitresses are good mannered and place is kept tidy, service is not too slow. has a home environment feel to how it is built. prices are fairly reasonable.

Mercado Juarez is a good Tex-Mex restaurant on the north side of Fort Worth. Plenty of parking, but they do get busy. Good menu selection at reasonable prices.

You can really get some authentic mexican food here! Their service is not always excellent, but it has never been bad. They get very busy so watch when you go or plan on having a margarita or two while you wait (not a bad thing). Prices are very reasonable and the food excellent.

a great place to eat. I took my wife out to eat and the waiter paid alot of attention to my wife as she sat there showing all of her breast, he told her she could dine topless and the staff treated her very well. the other customers showed no concern toward her being topless.and the food was great

This is a fabulous place to bring the family for some great Tex-Mex food! Munch on chips and HOT sauce while waiting on your meals. Try the beef and chicken fajitas, mouth watering and worth the wait. However, the sides that go with them are rather small portions so you might have to request additional. Great service and Mariachi band!!! They're located right off I35, and have a huge parking lot.

Saturday night was rough....the entire staff was miserable...not a smile in the place.
I hope the cook was happy, although the food said he was not.
No teamwork, I guess that is why they were so miserable. Dont expect anyone to be pleasant and dont hesitate to get your own tea or chips.
Good Luck
Pros: near the freeway easy to get escape
Cons: most unhappy staff i have ever seen...not a smile one.

They advertise the take large groups. We tried to make reservations after my youngest daughter's college graduation in Denton. They told us we couldn't make reservations, but that it wouldn't be problem since we planned it for 4:30 in the afternoon. My older daughter called the manager around 3:00 PM and talked with him about our group (coming from Denton) to arrive around 4:30PM. He said there was no problem. My daughter got there around 3:30 to set up balloons and the staff told she couldn't do anything until everyone arrive. If they had been busy I could understand this but there were very few people in the place at that time. They finally agreed to let her set up the balloons (after asking HOW many balloons we had). The manager had asked how many people we expected and my daughter told him about 25. During the party the manager came out several time and watched us as if he was counting to see if in fact there were 25 people. I found out after leaving the party and checking my cell phone that we had a guest who came to the restaraunt and inquired at the desk about the graduation party and was told they didn't know what she was talking about. The guest left thinking the party had been cancelled or she went to the wrong location. The food was good and I must say the wait staff were very helpful and took good care of us. The management and the front desk staff were not!!! Don't go here is you have an event for your family-they will make a happy event stressful and make you wish you had chosen another restaraunt for your party. (They also told we couldn't put confetti on the tables because they would have to clean it up!!!) Sherry Shafer

I went to the bathroom and saw a server come out of a stall (the bathroom really stunk like caca at that point) and go straight out without washing his hands. My wife went to the bathromm and went into a stall that was unlocked but there was big fat gordita that worked there sitting on the john eating some chips and salsa while she had a BM. The fish was old and tasted nasty.
Pros: not going
Cons: servers that eat on the toilet and don't wash their hands and old nasty food

Ive been coming to mercado jaurez for several years now and loving it every time! Anytime I want to impress people from out of town I take them here for the tasty tacos, chimichangas, and chile relenos. If you come during the lunch hour be sure to ask for Flora otherwise they have like 100 servers in the evening. This place is not quiet, but it does have a pleasant decor with the trees and lights. I even had a friend who had their wedding dinner here. Be aware of the wait on Friday's and Saturday's; normally 10-20 minutes for parties of 4. I would compare the food here to Don Pablo's or On the Border.
Pros: the salsa and chips, the margaritas are stout and the food is great
Cons: its kinda crowded and Don Pablos has much better cheese dip
Pros: Salsa is warm, food is great, Margaritas are strong.
Cons: It's kinda crowded, and Don Pablos has much better cheese dip

Great tasting chips, but that's about it. Tortilla holder smelled of dirty rag. More of Traditional Mexican food and not Tex-Mex. If you are looking for that south Texas flavor this is not the place to go.

After many years of dining here, it is sad to see a staple in the city falling apart. The food quality is falling fast and the wait staff treats you like an inconvienence. What has caused such a downfall . . . New ownership ?
Pros: decor, chips & salsa, moderately priced
Cons: wait staff, promptness, quality
