We drove out recenlty to play Lantana Golf Course and I can say that it is a nice course. It will be an up and coming favorite for those Dallas and North Texas golfers. The course is laid out very very well and I was impressed at how well it was designed. The greens are nice and the fairways are very well kept. There are a lot of bunkers and hazards but it makes it very interesting to play. The woman's tees seem to be really far up but the woman playing with us didn't do too bad with them. The fees are comparable to the better courses in the area.

Whatever number of sand traps are listed in describing Lantana, just remember: There are probably at least a dozen more! That being said, tee it up here, hit it straight and don't worry about the fluffy stuff in the bunkers. Tree-lined fairways, unique par 3's (there's No. 4 with a long carry, No. 8 over water, No. 11 down the hill with a unique bunker right and No. 15 into an island green) and large greens. Stretch out your game a bit here: If you move back a tee box, you might just stay out of some of the trouble. Lots of elevation changes, too. It's still new . . . but it's already a must-play kind of layout.
