Featuring live country, rock and blues six nights a week
  • Austin's largest piano bar
  • Great date place
  • Dancing and live music

Housed in an old Missouri-Pacific train depot, some of Austin's most talented musicians play at Donn's Depot six nights a week. Enjoy live music from music acts including Murphy's Inlaws, Earl Poole Ball, and Donn Adelman among others. Real train cars serve as seating areas, and the ladies restroom is a real caboose. Attracting students and retirees, this piano bar and saloon bridges the generation gap with its diverse range of musicians and musical genres, from swing, country, modern folk and pop.

What a place!! 5 Star Rating - World class

The first time I came to Donn's Depot, I knew I was home! heehee Good mix of ages, outside seating for smokers, and great to see the same people working there everytime I go. Note: there is a cover, but only on Friday and Saturday nights.- and for a place that has live music everyday they are open... that's a good deal to me! oo, ooo! and great for happy hour!

Pros: great location, free parking, live music, and great drinks!!.. free snacks
Cons: ..... hmmm...... I can't think of any right now.. HA!

Last real Honky-tonk in Austin 4 Star Rating - Very good

One of the things I was excited to partake in when I moved to Austin was good TEXAS Two-Stepping! Unfortunatly when I got here i learned that most of the old cowboy bars were long replaced in Austin by trendy college hot spots-----also fun, but not the same. Donns is a really great mix---- there is the country music (or piano on some nights) a nice little dancefloor, and there is still a good mix of ages. Not all college kids, not all old-folks---a little of both! The only drawback is there is usually a covercharge ---generally a deal breaker for me (if i'm gonna spend $$ at the bar, why should i spend it at the door!) but I actually broke out the wallet on a few occations because Donns' is worth it.

Pros: Texas Two-stepping, FUN place, not Pretentious at all.
Cons: Cover charge, Younger boys dont seem to know how to dance.
