I had gone to this shop while I worked in this neighborhood and I am now regretting ever having them touch my car. They started always quoting me on repairs over 1,000.00 that ended up not needing to be done. One was the check engine light came on they quoted me over 300 dollars. Two days later the light went off and it has never come on again. Once, when I sat waiting on them to finish my car I noticed a trend with every customer. Each quote was always over 1,000.00. I allowed them to repair a leak and now 11 months and 10,000 miles later the part is leaking. I had paid them over 400.00 in labor costs at the time. While the shop owner is willing to let me have his shop repair and replace the part, he will not pay for the repairs at a facility I trust. He yelled at me over the phone and started going through my work history with their quotes and stating that I never allowed them to do other work on the car. This was intereley irrelevant to the matter at hand. He would not let me speak during the conversation and was forcing me to talk over him. I would advise you to not have them perform services on your car. I have already taken the car back prior to this for a different issue for the same part and that famously stated that the problem had nothing to do with their previous.
In my experience this is not how one should conduct themselves when operating a business. Consider this a fair warning to you.

I called Montrose Car Care to get information about the cost of an oil change, and to find out if I could have it done in under an hour. The person that answered sounded friendly and explained that I could come in and they would have it done in 30 to 45 minutes...so even though my schedule was jam-packed I figured I could get in and get it done quickly. Once I got there and handed over the keys I was told again that it would be about 40 minutes. I went for a walk around the Menil and headed back at the appropriate time...to find that my car hadn't even been moved from the place I had parked it. I was so disappointed - I thought I had found a nice neighborhood shop...but instead I was just blown off. A big suburban with rims and a license plate that said "ZAZA" (as in a hotel owner's vehicle) had pulled up after I went for my walk and I guess they were more important than poor me...

Had worked with Cyrus for years while he was at Greenway Mercedes, and would follow him anywhere. He was great there, and now that he has taken over new ownership of Montrose Car Care Center, he has done all of the work on our cars at his new shop. As always, he's been very professional, incredibly responsive, and very fair on price. From reading these reviews, it sounds like the prior owners were not so great, but I can say from direct personal experience that Cyrus always has been, and continues to be, a class act.

I had brake issues and came to this shop based on the recommendations of my teacher at Saint Thomas University.
They did a good job and price was fair but they kept my car for several days. I suggest that they provide more loaner cars for people like me who only have one car and can't be without it for any given day.

Just had my jeep battery changed there today. They had me out in 30 minutes. Both Cyrus and Johnny were very helpful. Will definitely recommend my friends and family to go there. They have free Wi-Fi too.

Cyrus gave me a fair estimate and took care of my repairs quickly. I have two small kids and depend on my car to get them to school and back. I had issues with my brakes and radiator at the same time and I called Cyrus and was happy to find out he was now at Montrose Car Care which is close to home and my kids school. The convenience was good but the best is how quickly Cyrus and his team were able to fix my car. He gave me several options to save me money and time and kept posted on the repair status of my car the entire time. I have never had an auto shop go above and beyond to take care of me with understanding of how important it was to get my car back to me in a timely manner. He took care of my car and my situation as if he were taking care of his own family.
I have never had such personalized service in the automotive world!!!
I would recommend Montrose Car Care and Cyrus to anyone and I am confident that he and his team is going give the same service and care that I get each time I go.

Montrose Car Care is now under new management and you will be very pleased with the service that you will recieve, everything is done in a timely manner but most of all within a reasonable price. Highly recommended I know you will be satisfied.

Went here after a recommendation by a friend. I have been here two times.

The first time, I took my car for an issue with the car starting. I was dropped off by one of their employees at my work. A few hours later, I received a call from Cyrus who informed me that my battery needed to be replaced. Simple fix, and he changed it out for me quickly. I expected the problem to cost me much more. I picked up the car, and sure enough, everything worked fine.

The second time, I dropped the car off for some routine maintenance: flush the fluids, brake inspection, oil change. This was once again done professionally.

Both times I received a follow up call from their staff asking if everything was alright. That's the kind of service you'd expect from dealerships, not a local mechanic shop! Very impressed, and I'd recommend them to others.

I do know that in 2009 they moved into their new current location and have new management. When I went there my experience was great. Well maybe I should say as good as an unwanted trip to the mechanic can get. I was having problems with my 2005 Mercedes. They gave me a diagnosis and a quote. I used this info to call around and make sure I wasn't being jerked around and I wasn't. I gave them the ok to do the work and my car was ready at the end of the next day. They didn't try to ad on a bunch of other work to raise the price. I did appreciate them inspecting the car and advising me of some potential issues that I may want to have checked out on my next visit. Not telling me it needs to be done now. That was honest. Overall I had a great experience. Good price, Good work and Good service. Thanks guys. My car is running great and I'll recommend you.

I get the same service done to my car as I would at a Mercedes- Benz dealership for a fraction of the cost. The place is well kept, clean, and very professional. Cyrus always finds some way to go over and beyond to make my experience as gratifying as possible. What really stands out about this is the follow up call to see how everything was. I have an '04 Toyota Prius. Last summer, my car started pulling sharply to the left. No big deal, I just compensated. Then, about a month ago, I started getting some real problems: A plastic panel on the underside of my car got busted and started dragging, and I started getting severe rattling in the steering column. And then I got a flat tire. So I took it to the mechanics down the street.

They diagnosed the problem quickly, and gave me two quotes - one for a new part, and one for a used one. I went with the new one; the waiting period was the same, and the price difference wasn't that much.

While I was waiting, MCCC gave me a rental car at no extra charge! Kinda "under the table," but it and I made the drive to Austin and back with no problems. The moment I got back, my car was ready for me. The best part? I paid $50 less than what I was quoted. It gets better.

Even though I was still getting a bit of rattling, it was nothing like before. I hardly do any driving at all, so I just decided to wait for the courtesy call. They diagnosed the problem over the phone, and fixed it in less than two hours. They even tied the broken underside panel to the bumper, so it wouldn't drag. All for free.

I've dealt with the "old" Montrose Care Care Center once before, and while the new management isn't as cute (no offense), they are decidedly less eager to waste people's time. The real takeaway here is that, all told, I came here expecting decent, local service, and left with a huge bargain.

I was previously in the automotive industry for 4 years and I have always taken my Mercedes to Mercedes Benz of Greenway. When I found out that Cyrus, the former service manager at Mercedes Benz of Greenway, had purchased Montrose Car Care, I knew that I could expect nothing less than absolute perfection and honesty. While taking my Mercedes to him for the last 15 years, I quickly realized why he won so many SERVICE EXCELLENCE AWARDS and 100% CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AWARDS year after year. As the service manager at Mercedes, he was always able to find a solution to whatever problem arose. There was never a single instance that I know of that he was unable to find a win win situation for all parties involved. Unfortunately auto repair is not an exact science, and as such, you have to make sure that you choose a repair shop that has the most experienced technicians, the best diagnostic equipment, and the best possible attitude. In life, I have come to realize that in everything that I do, the most important thing is relationships that I can trust, be it in a personal or a professional arena, and from the five previous experiences that I have had with Montrose Car Care, I have come to realize that they have always resolved the issues with my vehicles in a timely and professional manner at a MUCH LOWER COST than at the dealership. I have also realized that Cyrus is an individual who will always go above and beyond to help me not only serve my automotive needs, but to do it in a manner that will save me as much money as possible without compromising my safety nor the quality of the work. I currently have three Porsches, one Mercedes Benz, two Fords, and a Mazda at home, and I will continue to take all of them to Montrose Car Care. So far they have worked on my Mercedes, two of my Porsches, and both of my Fords, and I have yet to be disappointed or unpleasantly surprised with any of the service or pricing that they have given me. These Guys are WORLD CLASS. Thank goodness they took it over from the old folks. I tried them out last year and had a terrible experience, swore I would never go back. But it's so convenient, and my regular guy couldn't figure out what was wrong with my Mercedes. It was squeaking when it went over bumps. I'm pretty demanding as a customer and I figured he just wanted to get rid of me. I saw the new management sign at Montrose Care Care and thought "Ok, I'll just see." Cyrus and Johnny and the techs are outstanding. It was some suspension thing that was covered by my extended warranty. Hooray. They warned me my brakes were going to need work in another couple of months, and sure enough, they were right. Fixed those too, and only did the front ones, because they said the back ones didn't need it. I LOVE these guys.

Cyrus and Johnny and the techs are outstanding. It was some suspension thing that was covered by my extended warranty. Hooray. They warned me my brakes were going to need work in another couple of months, and sure enough, they were right. Fixed those too, and only did the front ones, because they said the back ones didn't need it. I LOVE these guys.

Took my Subaru in to replace rear brakes - they found a long list of things wrong including front brakes (and tried to sell me an inspection) to the tune of $800 or more (because my brake calipers were 'rusty'). The minute I heard 'rusty' (all brake calipers are rusty....) I demanded they put the tires back on and give me my car. 'Oh', they said, 'It'll take 20 minutes.' They also tried to charge me $85 for the 'inspection'. I replaced the brake pads myself (an easy job - 2 hours) for about $90. When I took off the front pads they had more than 50% left... Don't walk away from these guys... run.

I think they're under new ownership now. I've taken my car there twice, as a second opinion for what the dealership todl me,a nd both times their quotes were less than what the dealer quoted me (I have an '04 Jeep) and they've done all the work in a timely manner. The new oener (as of a few months ago), Cyrus, really does a great job and I would recommend them to anyone!

My ex-husband used to take our vehicles to Montrose Car Care and he always got great service and good prices. It was wonderful to have them in the neighborhood. I'm the daughter of a mechanic...so I know my way around a car and wasn't too worried when I needed to have my brakes replaced.

I dropped the car off to have it checked out. I stopped by a couple of hours later and they told me that all four of my brakes needed to be replaced AND all four rotors were damaged and it would take them a couple of days. I knew that wasn't the case, but before I left, I had to pay $40 for an oil change that would have cost me $25 at Jiffy Lube.

I took my car to my old mechanic way out in the burbs...guess what? My back breaks needed to be changed, the front had some wear, and the rotors were perfectly fine...and he had it all done in less than an hour. That little drive out to the burbs saved me $1000 and two days without my car.

They pulled a similar thing with a friend of mine....unfortunately she didn't go get a second opinion.

these are not nice guys. i took my truck in because i live down the street. i had jury duty and could leave my vehicle for a few days. i told them to do whatever work within a few guidelines under $500 and to call my office if more was needed.
they kept my truck up on hydraulic jack for three days without doing anything. when i went to pick up my truck they had a laundry list of things that were not even needed. they said i needed over 1200 in work just to pass my smog test!!!! wrong! i complained and was told i couldn't get my truck for another half hour...i went home and called another mechanic whom eventually fixed my vehicle for $384. WORST YET....WHILE I WAS WAITING TO GO PICK UP MY VEHICLE, THEY DRAINED MY OIL AND STRIPPED MY OIL-PAN CAP AS SABOTAGE! REALLY, NO EXAGGERATION! BEWARE! ask your friends and neighbors...i did after the fact and thats when i was told these guys are the montrose gypsies! good luck and god bless! r

This place has been around for a while and was recomended to me by a couple of friends. I am a seemingly easy target as a young female, but I didn't feel like I was being talked down to or taken advantage of. My car was ready when they said it would be, and the cost was reasonable compared to other repair shops.
