The Scene
Blond-wood rafters, white tablecloths and a dark wraparound bar create a clean, almost Norwegian setting. Brick inlays and touches of brass add sophistication to the four dining areas. Details such as ice water with orange slices and vintage commercial fishing photos show finesse.

The Food

Truffle oil and Parmesan cheese deliver delectable matchstick fries. Calamari is thick and tender. A lovely grilled Atlantic swordfish tops a mound of fragrant saffron rice and garlicky sauteed spinach. The filet mignon and Australian lobster tail combo woos both surf and turf fans: Creamy sauce brings out the lobster's sweetness, while asparagus and mashed potatoes complement the meat. Parmesan chicken is an unlikely winner in this fish house. The basil-infused schnitzel marries beautifully with tomatoes and angel-hair pasta. Desserts include a stunning warm chocolate gateau, hot and gooey in the middle, and creme brulee with a slight caramel flavor.

Key Points

I had lunch here recently and the food was wonderful (My friends and I sampled each others entrees). Everything was well prepared.

It definately stood out compared to the large seafood "chains".

The staff was friendly and attentive, no complaints.

Prices were a little higher than average, but worth it!

Ratings_icons Spinoff of their steak house

Lay Wah O. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,584

This place is the sister restaurant of Chamberlain's Steak and Chop House on Belt Line in Addison also. When I first went there, I wasn't impressed with the taste of the food, it was too expensive for the prices that they charged, but it was seafood. The food wasn't bad, but I was expecting it to be as good as their steak and chop house's food. I heard from a friend recently that their business had picked up and they're doing very well now.

What a great restaurant!! You can tell that this is a well run restaurant. All the food we ate was superb. My wife had the Steak and Lobster and it was the best she ever had. The Steak was perfectly cooked and the lobster was sweet and tasty. I had the Seabass and it was the best piece of fish I have ever had. My brother had the Scallops and they were perfect. The server was as good as it gets. He was very accomdating and helpful with our special requests and recommended a great wine to compliment the meal.......perfection!

Pros: Awsome Food and service

Cons: none

Ratings_icons Did Not Meet My Expectations

My husband and I ate at Chamberlain's Fish Market Grill for our anniversary. He played it safe and ordered the pecan crusted trout and enjoyed it. I love scallops and order them whenever I see them on a menu. So, I ordered the Maine Diver Scallops and was very disappointed. Overall the flavor was good, but for a restaurant of this caliber, you would not expect to bite into ocean grit with each chew of a scallop... gross! I have had scallops at mid-level seafood restaurants and no ocean grit, so I know it's not an inherent thing when ordering scallops. Will not be running back to Chamberlain's any time soon.

Pros: Great Bread and Herb Garlic Butter

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday last month and it was absolutely amazing. Hands down best birthday dinner I've ever had. He planned it so that the date fell on the day there was a cooking demonstration AND wine dinner - so thoughtful! I remember my first course vividly because the alcohol paired with the dish was something i've never tried. It was a mango crabmeat roll with a saketini made with tyku. The mango in the roll complimented the citrusy taste of the drink perfectly! I also really liked the last dish of the banana rum flambe with plum wine. I still smile when I think of dinner at chamberlains, thanks for such a great experience!!

Pros: great atmosphere, amazing service, fresh seafood

We have always enjoyed our experience. The food is consistently good; the service is pleasant and timely. We look forward to returning again and again. Creative specials have been very much appreciated--especially surf & turf; 3 course lobster dinner, etc. Keep up the good work.

Pros: Consistently fresh and tasty seafood

Ratings_icons Consistantly fresh well prepared seafood

Whenever we want great seafood we think Chamberlain's. Professional, friendly, attentative staff takes their time without you feeling they are selling you.
Never had a bad meal because they are consistant on freshness and preparation. Wines are very complimentary to the food & are reasonably priced.
We have also hosted a large party & found them to be very accommodating to our needs. Our guests were very complimentary about the party & their dinning experience as well.

Pros: Fresh fish, great bread, professional friendly service

Ratings_icons Chilean Sea Bass!!!

BrittanyPerk

I always order Chilean sea bass.. I just can't seem to get away from it! Chamberlain did an amazing sea bass! The server paired it was a tyku Saketini, which was the perfect combination of flavors. My husband tried the Ahi Tuna which was a bit over cooked and lobster mac and cheese.
I've never heard of lobster mac and cheese but whoever did is a genius!!!!!

Pros: Fantastic Sea Bass

Cons: a bit pricey!

Ratings_icons Fabulous Seafood!

My husband and I eat here often, and we love to have lunch in their cozy bar - I adore the yummy salmon caesar salad (a whole, huge piece of salmon atop a crisp caesar!) while watching sports on their big TV screens. Their fabulous bartenders can almost read your mind! I enjoy having the salmon for dinner - it's wild and fresh and has never been overcooked, and the scallops I've had are huge and cooked exactly as I requested. And they have so many delicious and interesting sides - the dried cherries in the rice pilaf give it a bit of sweetness and a flavor that makes it taste so good and the lobster mac and cheese is rich and decadent, and my husband always asks for the crawfish mashed potatoes! The sushi trio is always fresh and different, and I love the mussels and broth (never overcooked or too much garlic), and all the soups are so delicious, it's hard to choose! Nothing is bland or overspiced, and service is a fine art here. We are always treated like royalty, even by the valet. We love eating here.

Pros: Food, Service, Ambience, Valet, Clean Ladies Room

Cons: None

Ratings_icons Best Seafood Anywhere!!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a really great seafood place, and decided to try Chamberlain's for his birthday dinner. It was just perfect. The ambiance was cozy and romantic and the food was amazing. We started with the calamari, which was a huge portion, however my boyfriend still managed to finish all of it! Then I had a baby spinach salad with sun-dried cherries and pecans that was mouth-watering. I love salads like this! My boyfriend had the gumbo and said it was the best he's ever had. Next, for our entrees, I had the sea scallops that were perfectly cooked and delicious; and he had the cioppino-the seafood stew. The cioppino was so amazing! I had never had anything like this, and I will definitely be going back for more! It was full of lobster, scallops, fish, and shrimp- almost too much for one person! Also, the lobster mac and cheese was incredible. I was ridiculously full by this point, but we had to try a dessert- the lemon pie. It was the perfect ending to our meal. Also, I wanted to mention the great service. Our server was so nice, he even held the door for me on our way out. I never write reviews, but I was so impressed by Chamberlain's that I had to share it with other people! I can't wait to go back!

Pros: Everything!

Cons: none

Ratings_icons Best seafood in Dallas

My wife and I ate at Chamberlains Fish Market Grill Last week. I must say it was simply some of the best seafood I have had in Dallas recently. We started with oysters on the half shell that were so fresh it reminded me our trips to New Orleans. I love sushi and I thought the sushi sampler was superior to that of many sushi restaurants. One downside was they were out of Halibut. The server explained they only buy enough for that day. I opted for the Florida red grouper which was cooked perfectly. My wife had the Brie and Spinach stuffed sole which she love. We eat out a lot and this was really a great choice.

Pros: Great food, service, location

Cons: Need reservation most nights

Ratings_icons Great Value and Great Food!

I travel for business and last Thursday, when in town , my client and I ate at this restaurant and were quite impressed with it! The Ahi Tuna Appetizer was truly sushi-grade and perfectly cooked. The Slaw on the side was very fresh and flavorful! Next, I had Lobster. It was so fresh and succulent and just the right size, My client had the Sea Bass and couldn't have been more impressed with its quality as well as its pricing. Most restaurants in the area charge well over $30.00 for this fish! The sides and dessert (Myer Lemon Pie) were wonderful as well. The porportions were big and filling...a real deal for the price! Our server was Terry and he provided some of the finest service I have ever experienced. We will definitely be back!

Pros: Great atmosphere, pricing and service!

Cons: None, we loved it!! Will definitely be back!

Ratings_icons Great Food and Service

I took my wife and son to Chamberlain's Fish Market Grill last Saturday and had the best food and service that I have had in Dallas in a long time! We started with the appetizer sampler that the waiter had recommended and it was great. It had the biggest shrimp coctail I have ever seen, great Ahi tuna ,calamari and crabcakes. My son loves King Crab and it is hard to find them so big and tasty like the ones he ordered. My wife had the Stuffed Flounder and it was tremendous and my Steak was better than most steakhouses. Our waiter, I think his name was Andrew was just perfect. He made great recommendations from the wine list and provided professional service through out the night. We will be back soon.

Pros: Food,Serviceand Value

Cons: None

Ratings_icons Over priced and over cooked

JDW1955

I would just like to say that I was very disappointed in this restaurant last Saturday night. My wife and I came in with another couple came in to celebrate our 30th anniversary at your restaurant . We left very disappointed. The service was bothersome, the waiters moved glasses and plates while we were trying to eat. The waiters seem to be rushing us at every course. From what we wanted to drink to what we wanted to eat. The food was not what I would have expected from a restaurant of this caliber. The lobster was over cooked, the calamari was on the bland side, I feel the Chilean Sea Bass was a little over priced. I have eaten Sea Bass in other locations throughout the states for about 1/2 the price and it was just as good.

Pros: None

Cons: Over priced and over cooked food

Ratings_icons Great for Business Meetings

wadeclap

I just had a group of 16 for a company meeting and our server Terry was outstanding! Chamberlain's is very professional and they have beautiful private dining rooms. This was a very important meeting and our server was very attentive. My group started with the combination appetizer, which was excellent. And the Seared Ahi Tuna was the highlight of the appetizers. Each of my guests were able to select a salad, entree, & dessert from a pre set menu that I had custom created with their Event Coordinator. Everyone was complimenting the food and my Sea Bass was outstanding. They were very accommodating and went above and beyond all of my expectations. I will recommend Chamberlain's for business or just personal dining.

Pros: Great private dining rooms, food & service

Cons: none

Ratings_icons Best Seafood & Amazing Service

This was my first time to dine at Chamberlain's - recommended by many friends. My husband and I started with the combination appetizer, what a beautiful presentation and a variety of choices. Best crab cake I have EVER had! For the Salad I had the Pecan Crusted Goat Cheese Spinach Salad this was served with sundried cherries and candied pecans. WOW! I will recommend to all my friends when they dine at Chamberlain's they MUST try this salad. And then my husband and I both had the Filet & Lobster. Chamberlain's menu has such a variety of choices of fresh food that I can not wait to go back to try something new. The price for the food was definitely affordable and not over priced for what you get - large portions. Our server was very attentive and helpful! We felt like she was our best friend by the time we left the restaurant. This was a "Date Night" for me and my husband and the whole evening was just amazing and we are already setting a date to go back. We can not wait!! Thank you Chamberlain's for a wonderul evening!

Pros: Everything!!

Cons: Nothing

Ratings_icons Fresh Fish, but prices do not match portion sizes...disappointed!

chrissue

I was disappointed with our Friday evening visit to Chamberlain's Fish Market Grill. The complimentary valet was nice, the host staff were nice, the wait staff were very nice and attentive, BUT we were let down by the food!

We started our evening with two martinis, which were full and flavorful for $10...should have ordered two. We then ordered a bottle of wine, which was a good value. Then moved onto the ahi appetizer - for $13.95 the portion size was respectable, along side a great slaw with slivered almonds, but the ahi was more than pan-seared, it was almost opaque..not what we expected. Moving onto the wedge salad with bleu cheese, sliced red onion, bacon and tomatoes, we were happier. All the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Our entrees arrived, I had the lobster Newburg, which tasted great but when they said 8-10 oz lobster, that was a stretch! It looked like a crawfish's big brother! I think I had 6 forkfuls if I was lucky and it was $30! WAY overpriced! My husband's was better, but not great. He had the daily special of halibut stuffed with crab and crawfish. There was one crawfish and one piece of crab, however the fish was prepared beautifully over garlic spinach and mashed potatoes. His was $28.95, a MUCH better deal than mine with the exception of the lack of actual seafood in the stuffing. We finished with coffee all around, which tasted great.

If we were to ever go back, we would stick to the salads and the fresh-fish selections as opposed to the specials and lobster. I felt the prices for the entrees, considering the portions, were a good 20% too high.

Pros: Good fresh fish and Great Service Staff

Cons: Portion sizes left a lot to be desired considering the prices. Ahi appetizer was not sushi grade and lobster was TINY for $30

Ratings_icons Avoid the seared ahi

thedao

The restaurant had very nice ambience. The "Fish Market" belies the quality of fish offered. The seared ahi we ordered were not of the sushi grade, with too much fat, and was very bland. I am ambivalent about going back for second try.

Pros: Good ambience

Cons: Food was not very good

Ratings_icons Spectacular Seafood, with flare!

When my girlfriend and I dined at Chamberlain's for the first time it was phenomenal. We had reservations and our table was ready for us as soon as we walked in the door. It wasn't super crowded so it was romantic, I am sure on a Saturday night it would be a busier and a bit louder. However my expectations were surpassed when we had our entrees. My girlfriend ordered the Maine lobster, and she had them use their Newberg style to make it and we have enjoyed lobster at many other restaurants around the globe and this one is in our top 10. The wine selection was extensive and yet at reasonable prices, not marked up to such ridiculous prices as other fine dinning restaurants would have it. I highly recommend (Chamberlains' Fish Market Grill) to anyone with the need and want to try food with some flare, and seafood that is anything but boring.

Pros: Very personable staff, a great ambience and the food, well it speaks for itself.

Cons: Can get a little busy on Saturday. make reservations.

Reservations are recommended, great for large parties and can accommodate almost any need. The experience I had was outstanding. From the moment you walk in the door you feel welcomed and almost like you are at home with the way you are treated. The waiters are always very friendly, the food is by far even better then before since they apparently brought on a new chef. All I can say was our evening was wonderful, we had the calamari which was by far one of the most tender I have had to date, and then for dinner scallops and the halibut. I would recommend this restaurant to my family. Not to mention the valet is complementary!

Pros: Ambience, Great service from everyone on the staff!

Cons: None as to date.

One of the BEST restaurants I have ever been to!! My wife and I just went there for the first time for our Anniversary and we each received a complimentary glass of champagne and the Manager & owner even visited our table. Everyone was so inviting from the valet to the hostess to the server. This was an evening we will definitely not forget. I had the Filet & Lobster and my wife had the Chilean Sea Bass - the food was amazing!!

Pros: Service & Food - all Thumbs up!!

If you don't like this place to eat, then you will NEVER be satisfied!! Everything that I ate: appetizer, seafood, vegetables, and dessert, was out of this world! I was very impressed with the service also. I was lunching with a group and we were waited on with "kit gloves". The owner, also the chef, came out to visit with us. NOBODY does that anymore and we felt so special!!! I can't wait to go back again!!!

I just ate at this restaurant for the first time, it was recommended by a family member and I thought it was fantastic. The seafood was fresh and cooked perfect, the service was good and the Chef was out in the dining room talking to the diners, It was pretty cool. The server suggusted the Copper River Salmon and it was point on. Thanks for a memorable dinner.

Pros: Food Food Food

Ratings_icons Consistently mediocre

I've been here several times now. It's not bad. But it's not great either. At this price point, the food and serivce should always be great, and I have yet to be impressed. Once we had a large group that lingered on till (gasp!) 9:30. They started vacuuming in the adjacent sections, I suppose in case we had plans to have dessert or coffee. There are other seafood establishments nearby that are better and better value. Note that Chamberlain's also has a steakhouse down the street, and it is outstanding (in sharp contrast to their Fish Market Grill).

Pros: nice looking, convenient location

Cons: poor value, so-so food, mediocre service

Ratings_icons Chamberlains is TOP notch

wheredididine

I have dined at this restaurant several times in the past and always found it to be the best in service and food, but last week I went to a cooking class and had four courses of the most divine seafood ever. From the oyster rockefeller to the seabass everything was outstanding. The staff was polished and the place was rocking, I would highly recommand them for an outstanding evening out.

Pros: two thumbs way up

Ratings_icons At Chamberlain's prices, it's fair to expect better food and service

zollner

Location: Relatively convenient
Decor: well appointed; adequate room between tables, allowing conversation at a normal decibel level
Food: Only experience was with Salmon Salad. The dish was drowned in dressing, and I should have called for dressing on the side. Salmon was slightly overcooked and dry. Salmon Salad is not much of a test of the kitchen, but I expected better.
Service: Saccharine and affected, which is a sign of poor training and coaching.
Overall: I would not recommend this restaurant, given the number of better choices in Dallas. At Chamberlain's prices, it's fair to expect better food and service.

Pros: Ambience and location

Cons: service and quality of food
