Cobblestone Quality Shoe Repair is the worst! Stay away!!

by Jerry P.

This store is located in an area of Dallas that probably gets them a lot of business. They stay must stay alive based on this and not the quality of their work. They are simply not craftsmen!! Expect very sloppy work and a bad attitude when you complain. If you expend the time and money to repair your shoes, you obviously know the difference between quality and slop. Try to find a small shop.

Cobblestone Quality Shoe Repair - poor workmanship

by S R.

I left a piece of Travelpro luggage with Cobblestone. It is a small travel bag.
It had a small hole in the side around the area of the zipper. The area was not torn. The stitching had come undone. I had the hole repaired and was very disappointed. It looks like it took the person maybe 5 minutes to do the repair and they charged me 16 dollars. A picture is worth a thousand words. You can tell it had been repaired. It is all wrinkled and looks like crap!
When I asked the person about the repair he was insulted and was rude. He asked me why I kept trying the zipper and looking at the repair.
You decide for yourself what you think. Good luck!

Cobblestone Quality Shoe Repair is uncooperative, unorganized!

by Courtney H.

I am VERY DISAPPOINTED/UPSET with this establishment!!!! My family has used Cobblestone in Fort Worth for years. However, last year I sent my Coach diaper bag in for a strap fixed. I payed for the repairs at that time and was told they needed to send it to the Dallas location. I was then handed a tiny claim ticket as record of my payment and bag (this bag was a gift from my Husband and retails for $450.00). Unfortunately, my toddler had got hold of my purse and wallet misplacing my ticket. Shoot! Sorry! Things happen! When I went to claim my bag, they told me that because I did not have my tiny claim ticket that they could not locate my bag ANY other way! WOW! I thought it was 2009 (2008 at that time) and they cannot locate my bag? I believe they CAN locate it but WON'T! Sounds fishy to me. This establishment is shady! I call from time to time checking to see if they have found it. I am not only angry over this, but heartbroken! This bag was a gift from my Husband for our first child together! We do not have the means to replace it, nor has Cobblestone offered! Don't take anything to them if you want it back!

Boot Care

by Fred A.

I have used this place before, time and time again. They have good prices and excellent customer service. I don't know why anyone would complain, it does get busy on some days, and you do have to wait in line but most of the time I get there, there is maybe 1-2 people in the store with you. They have most of everything I'm looking for, and if I just scuffed my boots I know I can get in and out of there in my lunch hour to fix it.

Expert Shoe Repair

by Carolyn M. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 700

This shoe repair cobbler has been situated on the busy corner of Southbound Central and Mockingbird for decades. A small, unassuming shop that offers quality boot and shoe repair. Bring in any beloved shoes and rest assured they'll be repaired by an expert shoe repair staff. The shop also offers a few leather goods for sale at reasonable prices.

EXCELLENT, FAST SERVICE

by texquill

I have taken several pair of high quality mens shoes to these folks for refurbishing (full soles, heels, replace stitching, etc). In each instance, I have been treated in a professional manner, and the work has been excellent. They understand high-end repairs, and delivery accordingly. Their pricing is in the same range as the one-man neighborhood shop I used before it closed.

Pros: QUICK TURNAROUND, EXCELLENT WORK

Cons: PARKING IS A LITTLE DIFFICULT

Do not take boots here!

by Not Satisfied 11

I recently took a pair of boots to have the leather sole on my boots repaired, there was a hole in the sole. I specifically asked that only the leather be relplaced, leaving the heel alone and not polishing the boot. When I picked up the boots the repairs I asked to be done where very well done, but the heel had been replaced with a similar but different heel and the boots had a waxy coating making it look like they were dipped in donut glaze. I have returned to have the wax removed from the boots and the heel returned as close to original as they can; still not the same as original, apparently that cannot be done. I will never take another pair of boots or shoes here again.

Pros: Fixed what I wanted fixed.

Cons: Replaced and waxed other things I did not want done.

Where is the proof?

by pudge5

I do not understand why people think they can write a review about a "bad" job that was done by this company, yet offer no pictures or anything to show us the job that was done. For all we know, you could hate the company because they are a competitor of yours and you are trying to steal business. Being a former employee of Cobblestone Shoe Repair and friend of the owner, I am more than familiar with the way things are run at the store. And yes, I will be the first to admit that I have a biased opinion. However, I just ran the front of the store, none of the work done on shoes was mine. However, I know that 98% of the orders we received were done the way the customer requested and they were done on time. Nobody is perfect. They do the best job that they can with what the customer gives them. Rest assured that I have seen ten times more good work done there than poor work and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good shoe-repair shop. And if you are going to write a review then please give proof of how they screwed up your repair order. If you are going to demean someone's business and drive business away in the economic times we are living in, I don't think it's too much to ask for some proof of a poor job. Your shoes are in good hands at Cobblestone!

Not Impressed

by SuuKyi

Took in a purse middle of June to have leather strap fixed. Strap broke again in same place in November. I assumed that they would not charge me the second time since it apparently wasn't done properly the first time, but they indeed charged me again.

Botched Boots

by DallasDad

I can't tell you how incredibly frustrated I am with this business!!! I took my favorite ostrich skin boots in to be resoled and refurbished on 4/9/08. Today is 5/2/08. The original pick-up date was Saturday 4/19/08. I picked them up that day and when I got home and took them out of the box I noticed a HUGE scuff mark on the right toe that wasn't there when I dropped them off. The left heel had two nails sticking UP through the bottom of the boot...INTO MY HEEL!!! I took them back on the following Monday (4/21/08) to be repaired. The lady looked at the scuff mark and said it looked "like they missed glazing that part of the boot" and said they could fix the nails. She said to pick them up on that Friday (4/25/08). Came back Friday and inspected them before I left. As I took them out of the box...surprise, surprise...no change at all with the scuff mark. I looked a the guy, pointed at the scuff mark and said, "That's what I brought these back for" to which he replied, "That wasn't there when you picked them up". I put my hand in the left boot and the nails had been fixed. I thought about dropping the issue until he accused me of lying. I demanded they fix the scuff mark. He said they'd likely be done on 5/1/08 but he'd set 5/2/08 as the pick up. Went today and he said, "oh no, they'll be ready on 5/6/08...you misunderstood." What should have taken 10 days is going on one month and I've been accused of lying twice already. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! They have horrible customer service, drastically ineffective organization skills and do bad work. I pray my $500 boots don't now have a permanent scuff on one toe that I paid $145 to get!!! Man, the nerve of some businesses these days!

Pros: None

Cons: Customer service, quality and craftsmanship

Don't bother going here give your $$ to a nonchain mom and pop store

by hvan76

Letter I sent to them recently -

I would like to inform you of the service I received at Cobblestone Shoe Hospital located at Mockingbird and Central on Saturday, December 15th.

On the previous Monday (Dec. 10th) I turned in a single boot for the heel to be rewrapped. I was told it would be ready on Saturday. On Saturday I visited the store and waited approximately 15 minutes in line to speak with a service associate. When I got to the front of the line the woman asked me for my ticket. Unfortunately, I could not find my ticket at that time. She asked for a description of the boot and my last name. I told her this information and she proceeded to say well, ?If you had your ticket I could find it?. She then asked for the next person in line to step up to the counter. I could not believe the disrespect. She not only disregarded what she had just said she dismissed me as a customer. I promptly left the building to go look for my ticket.

I searched and searched for this ticket but was unable to find it. I decided it would be best to call the store give the description again and ask that they look for it so I could return at a later time. The same woman answered the phone after I was on hold for over 7 minutes. I described the boot to her and she once again refused to look for it. Simply stating it is not there and try back next weekend.

I needed the boot for a trip on the following Tuesday so this answer was unacceptable. Thus, I returned to the store on Monday Dec 17th and the service associate found the boot within a few minutes.

After this experience I will never visit any of your locations again and will not recommend your service. This was THE worst customer service I have ever received. I would suggest improving your filing system as well as recommending a little more effort exerted on her part. Tickets are lost it is a part of life.
