Great for taking pictures of the kiddos

by Kristen H. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,014

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is located in way south Austin, past Slaughter Lane off Mopac. It is located in a beautiful area of Austin, and is even more beautiful once you are inside. The fee for admission is relatively small, around $5 per person, but the flowers and plants are wonderful. There are always helpful volunteers to answer any questions, and they have perfect areas for taking pictures that can't be found anywhere else in Texas.

Flowers Galore

by Tanya S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,454

All of the beautiful flowers of Texas and more can be found at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. I actually had to do a research project for biology and the workers were kind enough to help me find all of the plants I was studying. When everything is in full bloom, the photo opportunities are classic.

Looking for a nature walk

by Shawn M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 11,087

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower center is a very well kept up nature center. They offer several different walking/jogging paths filled with native texas plants and flowers. They have a cafe on their premises for those who should care to dine there. They have a tower that collects rainwater that they use to water the flowers. The flowers that they have planted attract butterflys and at the right time of year it feels very magical to see the pluthera of butterflys. A couple of times a year they offer plant sales with good prices. They do charge admission, but it is worth checking out if you enjoy nature and are looking for some fresh air and quite.
