Reviews for Bayview Duck Restaurant

Ratings_icons Excellent Pub

Great food &drinks,. Alec makes a triple decker mug of beer that is one of his signature drinks. I recently went back and enjoyed trying meals on the menu that I had not tried before.

Ratings_icons Traditional English Pub Fare

I started eating at the Duck when it first opened in 1997 or 98. The food was VERY inexpensive then. Although the prices have gone up the quality of the food has remained constant. The best fish and chips around. Also try the Guiness Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding (has nothing to do with pudding). This is the only restaurant I know of that actually serves English peas. :-) The owners are friendly and you get good service.

Ratings_icons Alex & Sherry Bring The UK To Texas!!!

I have known about "The Duck" since 2006. This is a wonderfully warm, meet your friends, place that is almost non-existant in this day and age! Alex will serve you what you want and if he doesn't have it, has been known to invent exactly what you wanted! IE:John Smith!!! Sherry will make sure you feel at home by coming by every now and then to chat and the boardgame "Shut The Box" is fun especially when you have a designated driver! The food is wonderful as my nephew who is in the Royal Navy will attest! The shepherd's pie melts in your mouth! Celtic music on Friday and Saturday nights around a table of funloving friends! No, The Bayview Duck is not you average bar!!! It meets and easily exceeds all expectations!

Ratings_icons Old world charm in the middle of nowhere!

I find the food to be alright although the bangers are made here local instead of the owner purchasing the original at an epicurian store in Houston (20 min. away). This small brick establishment is highly decorated inside, sorta like you'd decorate a trunk from all of your travels. The menu is small, the drink list seems endless.

PROS: reasonable prices
CONS: Nothing English in the menu.

Ratings_icons An English Pub

Julie H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 1,946

This restaurant is reminiscent of an English pub. Dark and full of British mementos, this place also has a fireplace you can sit around. The English owners brought me ( A Brit myself) English newspapers to read and were very friendly. The menu was a little skimpy and so were the servings but the fish and chips was excellent. Lunch specials are a good price but dinner can be a little expensive.

PROS: Nice surroundings
CONS: Skimpy servings
