My family was one of the few first families to attend the spanish service when that started at the church. I will see how every Sunday they will be excited to go to church. So, one Sunday I decide it that I was going with them. When I got there I knew right away why they like it so much. The families were very friendly and welcoming. Now, I don't attend service as often as I wish but every time I do my heart is feed with a strong powerful messege of god.

This is a church where you can really feel welcome. What you are wearing isn't important. The Father's care, the love of Jesus, the power of the Holy Spirit -- you'll feel all of these here.

The people at St. Barnabas are filled with the love of Jesus and they share that love enthusiastically. When I walk in the doors I know that I am home and I am surrounded by family members who love and support me. The service is informative and inspirational...the music fills my heart with joy. I love this church and I know that anyone who visits will too!

I've been a member of St. Barnabas for a little over two years. When I walked through the door as a visitor the first time, I was warmly greeted and made to feel welcome. Since I was raised in another Christian denomination--which no longer felt right to me-- I wasn't sure what I'd find in the Episcopal Church or at St. Barnabas. The day of that visit, I didn't try and use the prayer book, since its form was new to me. I listened instead to the sermon, followed the liturgy since it was similar enough for me to understand, enjoyed the choir and music, received Communion, and then was invited to join other parishioners for Adult Sunday School in the Parish Hall. The rector (pastor) led the discussion, still wearing his alb since the Spanish-language was to follow. At one point he wanted to pull something from his pocket to show us. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a cell phone. Another phone. A wallet. Some papers. A pencil. His grandson's Thomas the Train engine, and then finally, a nail-- with which to talk about the risen Christ. There was an entire theology that spilled from that pocket. I was hooked.Across the 5 weekly Masses at this "smallish" parish (Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday), a cross-cultural, multi-lingual, multi-generational faith lives. It is family.

My daughter and I started going to this church a few months ago. We have loved it! We pull up in the parking lot and she is excited to be at her church and go to her Sunday School. Everyone there has taken the time to introduce themselves and get to know us--we have definitely felt welcome. This has been a great place for my daughter to learn about God, and for me to worship.

Jesus Christ IS alive and well and living at St. Barnabas. Not exclusively, of course, but definitely in residence nonetheless. The literal death and actual resurrection of Our Lord is taught, preached and lived to the best of everyone's ability at St. Barnabas. One example of the parish commitment to Christ is the Hispanic Ministry.
Many churches have a "Hispanic Ministry" wherein they condescend to allow Hispanics to use the buildings on a "separate but equal" basis. The motto of St. Barnabas is "Two languages, one family". The church strives to live out that motto as it lives the gospel of Jesus Christ and make his teachings of love, redemption and salvation vibrant and vital parts of the lives of all.

This church is a blessing to anybody fortunate enough to find it. They don't just talk about the Gospel, they work to live it. I didn't have a church when I came across St. Barnabas, and they took me in and I felt like I was at home at last. That was a little over 4 years ago, and my life has been blessed ever since. It really is a church that shows you the love of Jesus and helps you to do the same. It really is a church for everybody. They want to make the Lord known to the whole world.
