Nice place but crowded
by C J.
I went for a year to train for a triathlon. The pool was well maintained but there were only two swimming lanes and then they would boot me out of one of them so the kiddies could have their lessons every afternoon. It was normal to have 2-4 swimmers in my lane.

They offer all the sports and camps you would need for your child. They are reasonably priced, and do offer assistance if needed. Parents can volunteer to be coaches if you like. They do not offer much in the way of practicing becuase they leave that up to the team and coaches so you may not have many practices. I do think they need more regulations and rules for the teams and not let the coaches run it all.

I love the Y!! It has great facilities for working out - great equipment and wonderful classes. There's an indoor pool, gym and terrific child care providers. It's great for the whole family.

The Cooper Street YMCA has been a wonderful experience for my family. They have a variety of fitness equipment that which is rarely out of order, and never for long. The strive to offer interesting fitness classes at a variety of times. Their sports programs emphasize teamwork over cut-throat competition, and their kids' programs are filled with adults who really care about the kids. My younger kids especially love the summer schedule in their childcare program! I think the Y is a good value. The only real drawback is that they are frequently very busy. I would love to see them expand their facility!
