Reviews for India Grocers

Ratings_icons India Grocers is bad store

Crazylex X.

This Indian store seems to be cheaterAt the billing counter, there are 2 persons most of the time. One Cashier and other delivery person. The cashier does the billings for all items, and the other person packs the items immediataely in a packing bag. Once all the items are billed, then the cashier submits a piece of paper. Note that the paper does not specify the product details, it only has unit wise amounts in it. We make the payment, and then the other person walks with us just to make sure that no one is steeling the store's grand old vintage cart worth a dime. He will come till we unload the items in the car and then take the cart and walk away. (Even though we dont want him to come with us)It is observed that so many times there is over billing. For eg: we purchase items worth $70, then we notice that the product worth $12 or so is billed twice. It happened many times. But unfortunately we do not have time to do a verification of the products with the bill at the counter, since there is another customer waiting. Once I informed them about this malpractice, they told that it's customer's fault. Customer has to verify before leaving. I told them that this is not acceptable in America where the business is done in good faith, not through unethical means. They said that they don't really care anythingBesides the above, we have numerous problems with this stores:1. Selling outdated bad smelling junk food, which can be revealed only when it is unpacked.2. The billing price is different from the labelled price, upon inquiry they say that the computer is not updated3. Rude behaviour of the sales person with the customer

India Grocers has many Indian groceries inside their store. The produce that they carry is very fresh. I have compared their prices to other stores, and in my opinion, the prices are more expensive at this location. The location of this store is good because it is located right off of Highway 59.

PROS: Fresh groceries
CONS: Expensive

This location has a wide variety of Indian groceries. The vegetables are fresh and the shelves are always well stocked. The store also has an area in the back of the store for customers to rent Indian movies. The employees are friendly and there is seldom ever a long line at the cash register. However, the prices are a bit expensive in my opinion.

PROS: Fresh Indian Groceries
CONS: Expensive

If you need to find any product from India or indian groceries, India grocers is a good place to search for it. They are well stocked, though their prices may be on the higher side. They are definitely as good as the other indian stores in the hillcroft area.

This is a small Indian grocery store which I frequent. They stock up most of the essential Indian groceries. They are one of the oldest Indian grocers in Houston, so they have an established clintele so their prices tend to be a little high. Not much of deals available. The store itself is a little disorganized, would do better if they can keep it better organized and have more staff to checkout items.
Their freezer section is the best I have seen in an Indian store. They have all sorts of vegetables and breads. Wonderful collection.

PROS: good choice of items
CONS: A little pricey
