Although Lakeline Animal Care is highly rated, and the staff friendly and professional, if you care about the health of your pet you will not go there.
On my third visit there with my puppy, they completely overvaccinated him and he suffered a reaction. Without even consulting me, they gave my 13 week and 5 day old puppy a combo vaccine of DHP-P, plus Leptospirosis, Bordatella and the Rabies vaccine.
Rabies is commonly not given until 20 weeks, and Bordatella is needed prior to boarding but was certainly not indicated or requested and the entire onslaught of vaccines was just too much for his little system. He is thankfully still alive, but I no longer trust them as they took it upon themselves to give him all these shots without discussing it with me first. They are also amongst the most expensive vet clinic you could find, and in this case, you definitely don't get what you pay for. Stay away!
I have several pets and go to this clinic on pretty much a monthly basis. Still, the front desk staff never seem to recognize us. We never know which vet we see since there seem so many different ones working there which prohibits us from building a relationship. I also do find their prices higher than other vets, especially the medication. The reason we go back there? Convenience since their clinic is open 7 days a week and I do think their animal care is satisfactory.
Pros: Open 7days a week. Good care.
Cons: Too many different vets. Seems more pricey, especially when it comes to the medication.
I must say that I fell in love with the yellow house and have had great experiences with this vet in general. The downside is that they are very expensive. My dog recently had a bladder infection so I took her in with the main goal to get some antibiotics. They wanted to do a urine test, blood test, and even wanted to stick a needle directly into her bladder to take a non-contaminated urine sample. I passed on the last test. They told us they would put her on some antibiotics that work well for bladder infections. The total bill came out to $250. It turns out they gave me dog $85 antibiotics. Huh? I myself wouldn't pay $85 for antibiotics for me so why would I spend that much for my dog. They called two weeks later and wanted me to bring my dog back in to stick a needle in her bladder just to make sure everything was OK. The vet is very thorough but if you go there, please make sure to question the medicine they give you. They charge about 5X-6X for prednisone for what you can buy online so I always have to bring a print-out of the price and they try to get close to price-matching it. Although I love this vet, I cannot handle the price-gouging they do so I am going to switch to a new vet. One other thing - they seem to have high vet turnover. One of my friends is already on her third vet there in two years since the previous two vets left.

I have moved away from Austin, but will continue to commute for as long as I have pets. One of my pets actually gets excited to visit Dr. Bendall and staff. It is obvious that they love animals, and it really puts you at ease to know they will do the very best for your pet.
The doctors are some of the best you will find. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and always great with the animals. They are open every day of the week and have great boarding facilities. They are slightly more expensive than some vets, but I have found it's worth every penny. I've taken all of my pets here for years and never had a bad experience. If you have concerns or questions, they will work with you and get you the answers. Most vets can handle routine exams, shots, etc., but if you really have a sick pet this is the place you want to go. The doctors are not only knowledgeable but compassionate. The staff really helped me with a diabetic pet, teaching me how to give the injections and test blood glucose levels. Once you visit here, you won't want to go anywhere else!
We have taken our Cockatiels and Sun Conure to many places and have finally found the best Avian Vet in our area! Not only do they go above and beyond, their professionalism is unequaled. Upon arriving for the first time, they immediately led me to a space to fill out forms away from all of the other animals so my birds did not get any more stressed than they were. Secondly, they take the birds to the back away from you to clip wings, file beaks, etc., so your baby does not associate it with you. I highly recommend Lakeline to any one.

I love this place! Taking my cats in to see the Vets here is such a relief because I know with the caring staff and Vets will diagnose and give my animals the best care available. The office is very nice and staff is friendly and treat your animals with respect. Although I've been other places, I prefer the care I get from Lakeline.
PROS: Caring Staff!
