Gulf Greyhound Park

I have been to this track many times and always had a great time. It is very friendly and dogs seem well cared for and happy, If it is raining or cold they come out in jackets. The food is very good at the restaurant. I loved it!

I visited the track on a Thursday night when they offer a promotion of 50 cent hot dogs, beer, soda and popcorn and $1.00 margaritas. My first impression was that it was not a very pretty track, I'm used to some of the nicer looking ones in Florida. However, the dogs were beautiful, and you can sit much closer to the track than I've been able to before. There were kids running around everywhere and it seems that this is a family night out for a lot of people. With admission being only $2.00 and the food and drink prices so low, I can see why. While I wouldn't say "you gotta go there!" it was a nice change for a night out and I'll definitely visit again.

Gulf Greyhound Park has live racing of greyhound dogs seven days a week. They also simulcast horse racing from other areas. The Terrace Club is their full service restaurant and the food is delicious. Try their Gulf Shrimp! They are open at 7:30 pm each night except that they have matinees at 1:30 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is off of Exit 15 on the Interstate 45, just south of Houston. You'll have an enjoyable evening.
