Been going here for years, no problems.

by Jeff F.

I've been going to Lone Star since I moved to Arlington 10 years ago when it was on Abram's. The new store is much nicer. I'm not sure what the complaint is regarding selection; they carry just about every new title each month. Their back issues aren't kept in the store like they used to be and as I don't shop for back issues, I don't know how they work that now (probably through their website, delivered to the store). My monthly subscription has always been there, I pick up other titles occasionally, and the employees are very friendly to me. I can't attribute this friendliness to my long-time status due to new faces either. The current manager has only known me since a few months after the Cooper location opened and she's got my name down and has been nice since I first met her.

I'm not sure what has led to the negative reviews. Parking is limited, unfortunately, but that has never been a problem (and I go in at lunch time on new comic release day) to prevent me from getting a spot. Give them another chance, talk to them, and be considerate of them as well. No, not everyone knows every comic character. Employees have preferences just like customers; they don't read every publisher.

Not nice to kids!

by Jimmy D.

This is why kids don't read comics anymore. I hate elitist employees with attitudes.

I'll bring my kids to 3-D Comics from now on since they seem to care.

Falsified Reviews

by John S.

Any of the positive reviews listed about how excellent the place is, is from employees or owners of this building. The staff is completely unsatisfactory and rude. Elitism at its worst, if you aren't already a friend or acquaintance of the people there, you won't get any fair treatment. I brought my son in there and they weren't concentious of their language and vulgarity. Hardly any selection and yes, parking was an issue due to the fact that what doesn't have broken bottles in it, is half a mile away from the shop as it is.

Keep that as your pros and cons.

Not Impressed

by JB B.

The parking is horrible here and as for it being a "comic store," I would like to see some more actual comics and fewer I Love Lucy lunch boxes.

As for the staff, the turnover is insane b/c the bosses are rumored to be slave drivers (mangers making under $10/hr). I asked about a Black Canary TPB one day and the idiot working the counter had never heard of Black Canary. Really.

The biggest little comic shop in Texas

by Jim T. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,753

Lone Star Comics has been *the* place for comics, collectibles, and gaming in Arlington for as long as I can remember. I used to fill in the gaps in my collection with their huge selection of back-issues, as well as get the new comics the ver day of release.

From their humble beginnings, they expanded into the gaming realm, and soon became a bastion of geek-dom. They also carry limited edition collectibles from sci-fi and comics.

If you can't find it at Lone Star, it isn't in print.

PROS: huge selection

looking for a gift for the fanatic?

by Tamara W. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 442

The new store is bigger, and better than ever! The gaming area is always busy but accessible. The selection of both current and vintage comics are excellent. The staff are fantastic, and helped make my first book signing for "Sirat" a smashing success!

Fun place to go for the comic lovers

by Chris D. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,532

They have a pretty good collection of comics and cards. This used to be my favorite place to go when I was a kid. For those people who collect cards, this would be the place to go to find the one card that is missing from your collection or set. They keep them in mint condition and they have alot of cool toys sitting around. The prices arent to bad either.

PROS: lots of cool things
