has a few gems
by A R.
My experiences at the Visible Changes in NW mall have varied. I have been to a few of the stylists there and I will write a breif description for each of them. Kelly- Kelly was very friendly (gave me a hug, lol??) She took her time to listen to what I was saying and she did excactly what I asked, except that she cut off three inches instead of 1...which I probably needed because my hair was pretty damaged. She was only 19 at the time that she cut my hair, just starting out as a stylist, but she was wonderful and I see her doing great in her career. She moved to Memorial City Mall. Grant- He seems nice, although he didn't talk much and made me feel uncomfortable. He tried to give me side bangs which I asked for, but he just couldn't do it. My hair didn't feel healthy like it usually does after getting it cut because he put so much gunk in my hair & wasn't too good with his scissors. Even the next lady I went to to get my hair cut commented that it looked like I had cut my hair myself and she couldn't believe that I had gotten it done at that salon. I wouldn't recommend him. Lupe- Lupe was very friendly and listened to what I wanted and gave it to me (but convinced me to do shorter bangs which looked wonderful) She is reallly professional and has given me the best haircut of my life. Unfortunately now she only cuts hair on weekdays 2 days out of the week and I have to work during those times. Guadalupe-this lady was not friendly, and didn't speak much english?? She did an OK job but it wasn't what I wanted because of the communication barrier. Bobby (or barbie?)- She was very friendly without being fake, and funny to listen to. I didn't have a good idea of what I wanted, and she came up with a great cut/style. My only complaint is she teased my hair and sprayed it with alot of hairspray and it was really flamboyant looking (but that's just her personality). Next time I get my haircut I have been referred to Blanca. I will write another review after that. I have gotten my hair colored at VC twice by Maria. She is not the most personable person around, but she is an amazing colorist. My highlights always look so natural and pretty when I go to her. Front desk could improve but after all it is a very run down mall.....as long as maria is there I will continue to go to this location.

I loved the perm I received from Esther at Visible Chages Northwest Mall
by Janet T.
My regular lady who I had been going to for years at Visible Changes, Guadelupe, retired. Esther was offered in her place. I went with trepidation and turned out, it was perfect! She listened to where my particular cowlicks are and managed to make them work with the perm. I will definitely be back! Thank you Esther!

worst experience EVER
by Sarrah S.
i went in to the Willowbrook Salon as a blond and asked for low lights to go back to my more natural sandy colored hair. i mentioned that i also had strawberry blond in my natural hair color and to add that in with the sandy low lights.
well my hair came out TERRIBLE. i am horrified. it looks dark brown with chunky fake red streaks. the lady, ERICA, really did not listen to what i asked for at all. she just went right along and did her 'own thang' and ruined my hair.
i payed $150 but freaked when i saw the color. they told me to come back and they would 'fix it' free of charge. i called to set an appointment and the girls at the front desk were SO RUDE. and they even wanted to charge me to get it blow dried! how am i supposed to see the color if its not blow dried?
i HATE this place. i will NEVER go back.

Now I have to get hair extensions
by Su K.
I told my cutter to leave the length, but she thinned it so much that it looks ludicrous! I will probably have to get hair extensions. How could she do that to me?
She just clipped the hair up and cut without thinking about how much she was thinning it. Now I have a bunch of hair around my ears that sticks out from the humidity and straggly strands below that. I should probably sue them. Stay away from this place.

I love this salon so much I have been going for 5 years or so
by Esmeralda F.
I have been going to this Salon for about five years now. My old stylist was moving and I needed a new one so he referred me to Blanca. Ever since the first haircut I have been impressed by her work. She has never lead me in the wrong direction and always is honest on how a haircut will look on me. I trust her and noone else. I dread the day she retires or moves too far away. I have even told her I would go to her house if she did that LOL.
I RECOMMEND BLANCA AS A GREAT STYLIST.

Serious disappointment....
by N N.
I've come here before and, for $40, got a decent haircut. (No frills). Last time, due to belt tightening, I opted for the cheapest level. Wow - what a mistake. I've had some miserable haircuts in my life, but this was an award winner in that department. I had to go back to have someone (not the original butcher) fix it and that was not done very well either. It was NOT a good experience and I shall NEVER go there again, no matter what. I try to support neighborhood businesses but not this chain. NOT a good deal, NOT a recommendation.

Good Experience
by Rebekah P.
I'm 27 and it was my first time being in a salon. I went to their salon at The Woodlands Mall and had an excellent experience. Linda did my color and it came out exactly as I wanted it to even though my description was very vague. CeeCee did my cut and style and she assured me I would love it and she was cutting at least 3 inches off my very long damaged hair. I've never had my hair cut and I was amazed at how beautiful my hair turned out. Linda gave me excellent tips on how to take care of my hair. CeeCee showed me how to syle my hair myself at home as she did, what products are good for my hair and which are not. I will definitely be going back

I you like torture - Join Visible Changes
by Anonymous
Visible Changes/West Oaks treats its trainees like low-class citizens. Expect to work on Saturdays 13 hours with a 30 minute break if you are lucky. Your manager is a ex-receptionist who knows nothing about managing people. I am amazed this place stays open. If it weren't for the brain washing they do to their "Invisible & unchanged"" employee slaves nobody would work there. It is like "Hell's Salon" - Tatoos, piercings, drugs, no smiles, $6 per hour, no breaks, 30 minutes for lunch if you are lucky.
I was so excited to graduate and get licensed. I joined Visible Changes thinking I was joining a professional group. Your training will last about 3 to 12 months and you are just a janitor shampooer!
Have a blessed life and stay away from Hell!

My friend sent me to see Cindy and Blanca at the Visible Changes located in the corner of Northwest Mall. Cindy did a wonderful job on my color and Blanca followed with a fantastic haircut! I left wow'd and will definitely be going back.

ok but not worth the money

I moved to Baytown in the past year from Atlanta. I wanted a higher end hair styling experience. I didn't find it here at Visible Changes. They definitely represent themselves as a higher end salon but they fail to carry out the job. I gave them a chance 3 times. Never again. I can get the exact haircut and color for much cheaper. Their master stylist is really no better than the average stylist.

I went there for my friends wedding, they did excellent job styling my hair, even though it took them hour and a half and bill was more than $70. My husband used to cut his hair there, however his hair lady didnt do such a good job last couple of times, and bill is about 30 dollars just for a regular short haircut, we decided the regular cheap haircutter will do the trick. Waiting time is long, even with appointment you are looking at 20-30 min on the weekends. Also, I think its very annoying and awkward that you have to give your hairstylist tip in cash instead of putting it on the credit card.
PROS: professional hairstylists, good hair products
CONS: long waiting time, expensive

Poor receptionist
by Mary D.
Very poor service at reception desk. Wait time quoted was a lie. Receptionist took my information and then left. Service was horrible and the co-manager on duty did not seem to care.

Visible Changes is a better place to go for getting your hair colored, and to get a better hair style done for a speacial ocasion. The staff there is great, also if you do have a problem with the hair cut or color they work with you to get it fixed.

Highlights and a Cut

I normally go to visible changes when I need a really good job on my highlights and lowlights. They are fairly resonable for their coloring, however, being watching by people in the mall as you have the foil highlights in your hair is not one of my favorite things about them. The haircuts are reasonable just depending on the level of stylist you request. They do not always have a lot of appointments so be sure to call ahead.

Located inside a mall, the convience is undeniable. Usually I go in for a color touch up on my roots. The staff here is friendly and understanding to their customer's needs.

Visible changes is a lot better than your normal "chain" hair places. They are very qualified to do whatever you ask. The prices are very resonable and the stylists are friendly.

Visible Changes is the place to go if you are at the mall and need to get a trim. The first thing you need to do when you get to the mall is make an appointment because usually the shortest wait will be at least an hour. The good thing about that is then you can go get some shopping done.
